The Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel 2019 was awarded jointly to Abhijit Banerjee, Esther Duflo and Michael Kremer "for their experimental approach to alleviating global poverty." This prize is really about how to fight poverty, how to improve education, and how to ameliorate health in the developing world.

@@MarketPowerYT I was talking with Jon this morning, the book "poor economics", and the "J-Pal" thing actually made me to apply to this school where Jon, a J-Pal affiliated researcher, was working. Without them, I don't even know Jon, and I don't even know you!

"What I think is an important field is... Economic History" I'd never have guessed! (Source: One of your students)

Bengalis are similar to Austrians. Something about the field of Economics just matches with a Bengali. Moh`d Yunus and Banerjee.

I took your advice from one of your videos about reading books from university presses on development economics and I wanted to know what is your opinion on "How growth actually happens" by Michael Best. I picked it up a while back and I'm not sure what the consensus is in your field.

I haven't read it, but the summary seems reasonable. Also, Gavin Wright blurbed it, and he's a solid guy. So I'd say it's probably good. It has me intrigued!

Its a bitter truth that unless everybody has a piece of land, ones richness will be lead to someone becoming poor.

This Benarji doesn’t live in India, has left India for his own interests and settled in USA with American wife. How would he know problems and solutions of Indian issues. He has no right to comment on Indian economy. If he is so much worried he should come back to India and should utilise his knowledge for growth of India
