Not trying to hate but you should add "if you use tax jar" to the description because this video is completely based on filling out the dr-15 with 100% help from tax jar.
This video helped me the My first time I submitted taxes and could not remember for the life of me which video it was for the second time (I did not save it the first time) then finally found it again! Now I have it saved It helps me EVERY time! All other videos are super confusing! I am forever grateful for this walkthrough I highly appreciate you for this video! Please DON’T EVER delete it’s a life saver (literally)!!
THANK YOU! I had subscribed to Tax Jar last month, trial for free, and saw a video last month on their website that showed step by step for Florida filing....I think Tax Jar was bought by another company and redesigned the website and I could not find the Florida state video on Tax Jar. I went to You Tube and then searched for FL filing video's. THIS WAS AWSOME!!! Step by step!!!! Thank goodness for Tax Jar and the information it collects and then watching YOUR video took me less then 15 minutes to file!!! THANK YOU !!!!!!!!!
Your video was so helpful! It was my first time filing and I'm happy to say that I filed on time and have a better understanding for next quarter filing! Thanks!!!
Happy to help. Yeah, there’s a little bit of info but having an app do the work for you makes it easy. I just go in every quarter and transfer the numbers.
Hi Frankie! Thank you for making this video. A few questions on TaxJar if you don't mind. 1. Are you still using TaxJar, and if so has your monthly rate stayed $19.99? 2. The reports you pulled the tax information from was that all accessible from the starter plan? 3. Can you run only so many reports a month to stay within the started plan or is it unlimited? Thank you for your time and for making such a useful video.
I canceled my taxjar after amazon started to collect the sales tax. I waited until due and everything came up with me having to clam zero, so I canceled
Hi! Could you please upload a video explaining how to fill out DR15 Florida for Amazon resellers and Florida sales tax permit, when we collect tax money, please? Thanks
Oh my goodness thank you thank youuuu lol your video was clear, straight to the point, easy to understand, simple to follow along, and just overall helpful! Thank you for this video!
I just watched another youtuber showing these steps but he says that gross sales is ALL sales not just FL and he put the non FL sales under exempted sales. Now im confused what is correct your or his method. Also TJ is $19 if you have only a few transactions, i just started selling 4 months ago and they charge me $49 already as overage fees so soon will be $99/month which is a lot. You should do a video how to get the calculations for FL without TaxJar
I’m not sure how others are filling out their taxes but this is my method. I’m not a financial advisor, so I would recommend you talk with a cpa to answer any confusing questions you may have. Taxjar is how I calculate my quarterly sales tax. I don’t have a nexus in the other states, so the platform I use collects those taxes. The sole purpose of taxjar is for them to calculate the information for you so you can spend your time elsewhere.
Your video is so helpful, But I have a question that how we will calculate or can get sales tax report from TAXJAR, kindly reply and if AMAZON is collecting sales tax so how we can file return ? Kindly reply Thanks
Hi, one last question, I been replaying your video and researching how to complete my sales and use tax return and your video by far explain it so much easier and understandable.. this is my first time. I appreciated your help. Tks. So when I starting to sell at etsy, I notice that at first etsy didn't charge sales tax on my orders, since then I corrected it and now it shows that I have a transaction insights tab in tax jar which shows sales tax not collected for that one order etsy didn't charge the sales tax, In this case what can I do to show the difference of sales tax.
great video! If I didn't make any sale for the 4th quarter everything I fill in will be zero right? I know this may sound like a dumb question lol I just want to be sure
No question is a dumb question. If you are 100% sure you didn’t have any sales then yes, it will all be zero. If you only sell on Amazon, once they start collecting sales tax here in Florida, it will always be zero. Unless you sell on other platforms as well.
thanks man working on getting into this. a lot to take in learning everything. this was a great video. i am also in florida. do the other state sales taxes automatically get sent out by eBay?
this only works if you got tax jar... you don't explain what less lawful deduction even is or anything from that section you just refer to your tax jar account...
Great video, thank you. I am new to this and only sell on Shopify and eBay. Thus might sound like an ignorant question, but do I pay tax on all sales, or only for customers who live in Florida that make a purchase? Example, if a customer in Nevada makes a purchase, am I paying sales tax on that purchase too? Thank you!
For sales tax, you’re only responsible for your nexus states. Florida is our nexus if you only have a shop here. For those two platforms, I believe you have to collect but if you every get on amazon, they collect it for us. This is just the information I have collect for myself, I am not a tax professional. ( disclaimer )
So if you have your sales tax license then yes, just put zero if you don’t have sales. If you don’t have your sales tax license, then you don’t have to worry about filing, yet. I am not a tax professional so please contact your cpa.
I don’t have a business partner the business is only for me I am just simply try to get the resale certificate and I didn’t know it was sooo hard to get it
The “business partner number” is just what it’s called. It’s been awhile since I applied for mine, but I believe if you type in Florida business tax application, it should have the site there.
I’m a big ebay seller, eBay charges fl buyers the state tax but I never receive the tax, ebay takes it off the top & to my knowledge pays it to the state. My question is if I acquired the resell certificate would I still be responsible to do state tax quarterlies?
From what I’ve seen on my end, if Someone in Florida purchases from me, I don’t see the sales tax on the purchase total. You may have to setup you tax under your county tax code. Once you receive your resellers license, you will most likely have to start paying quarterly. If your sales volume is really high you could have to pay monthly. But that’s something you would have to find out once you file, I can’t answer that. Mostly it will be monthly.
This is amazing. Thank you so much for walking through this process step by step. Question: is it necessary to pay for taxjar monthly or should we just subscribe quarterly when taxes are due?
Hey men thanks for the info. Quick question. Im kind of confused. Im selling on amazon dropshipping from other places. Amazon is collecting the taxes not me. I got my sales tax permit in florida and im confused. Shouldn’t i be colecting taxes instead of amazon to then repay them to the department of revenue? Thanks again
So, amazon just started collecting and remitting taxes on our behalf. If you don’t sell on any other platform then whenever you file, just put zero. Please consult your cpa as I’m not a tax professional. Thank you for watching. 😊
Hey man I do not know if you will see this but I do Online Arbitrage for Amazon where I buy products from Walmart and I get taxed on that, when I file taxes do i have to put in Taxable purchases?
I’m not a tax professional so I would advise you contact your cpa to find the answer. If you don’t have a FL cert or a login info to file, why are you filing? If it’s because of Nexus, you’ll have to file for a FL cert but most people don’t really pay the taxes on their nexus states. But again, contact you cpa or a tax professional. Sorry I couldn’t help you further.
Correct. This video was made for sales. If you have sales tax from services rendered, I would consult your cpa on how to fill out your sales tax return. I’m sorry I couldn’t be of more help to you.
I also live in Florida started selling on Amazon just 2 months ago, and create an account in TaxJar. I did around 2k in sales in this 2 months, but after connecting my Alazon account with TaxJar, seems like I did not have any sale in Florida, only in the others states. What to do in this case, put all 0? What about the states I selled, should I do it manually in each state? Thanks for the video.
Amazon now collects for sellers in Florida. If you only sell on amazon then yes, just put zero. I personally don’t worry about the other states only the states that I have a nexus in. I would advise to speak with your cpa on the other states.
Hello. I’m not too sure on that, I only do e-commerce. If I were to guess, you would have to calculate the sales tax you’ve collected and implement it that way. I’m not a cpa or a tax professional, I only know how to do e-commerce using tax jar.
what would happen if I didn't filed any of my sales taxes from 2020 because I didn't know. Anyway my sale tax usually 0$. another question, Cani I pay annually or do I have to pay monthly
I’m not a tax professional so I’m not sure what could happen if you never file. As far as when to file, that information should have been given to you whenever you first received your tax exempt license.
@@frankieflips2199 I research that I need 200 transaction a year for each state to be able to file a sale taxes is that correct because I don't receive any mail about taxes. I made less than 200 transaction on each state. 200 transaction over all or just individual state?
The 20k and 200 transactions is referring to your income tax not sales tax. If you don’t reach that number, you won’t usually receive a 1099k but you still have to file any capital gains. Whenever you are sales tax exempt you still have to pay sales tax on anything you sold, you just don’t pay the sales tax whenever you purchase what you are selling.
can someone help me please!!! Keep getting error: - Line 5: The total amount of tax due is less than the minimum sales tax plus discretionary surtax due from Line 15(d).
Thank you for you feedback. This video was made for those that already have their resellers license. It shows how to fill out the form using taxjar. This isn’t a video showing you how to get your resellers information. Sorry for the confusion. If you have the resellers license already, it should be on the front of the paper they sent you. You’ll have you resellers licenses number on one side and the business partner number on the other. Either way, your log in information is what you need and I can’t provide that for you. Thank you for watching.
