Thank you for sharing your story! It's mind blowing how this is happening to so many people left and right. I haven't even published anything yet and they terminated my account. I have no idea what I could have possibly done. I know some people say they had another account they forgot they signed up for, but that isn't the case with me. I didn't even know what KDP was until about a month ago and signed up for an account. Had a couple of drafts but nothing published yet and they terminated my account and will not accept my appeal. Like some of the other followers here, I will just give my creative business to another company. Good luck in your future journey!
Very interesting and educational!! I got terminated yesterday and was looking for videos like yours. I created 4 books and made 0 royalties and I am so happy it did not happen after publishing 1000 books and years of being on the platform. I have got the feeling that termination is just a matter of time on Amazon KDP and I think it is better to look for different options. I appealed too and I am waiting for their response. I feel like you will hear from them again. I feel like what they said was thank you and just acknowledging they received your message. So I’m keeping my fingers crossed but I have a good feeling about this.

I had the dreaded email yesterday! I have been terminated my account is cancelled. I'm sick over this and in PANIC mode. What can I do they emailed me back this morning telling me they are standing by the decision. Heart Broken. I have prayed through this whole KDP journey, and I am still praying. I'm not giving up, but I just need to know how to respond to them. Thank you for being vulnerable and so open it makes me feel seen and not alone in this. I wish they had a phone number to call an actual person.
I’m so sorry that happened to you! I’m keeping you in my prayers as well. Maybe you can try creating another account and then going to help and call them from there and just give them the email of the account you want help with. I have no idea if this will work! Keep me posted and all the best!

Maybe it was an automated answer from a bot. Amazon really needs to get it together. I feel like you should try again until you find out that your message has been acknowledged by an actual human. I hope there is a way to do that.
It looks like you may have gotten a response from a human rather than a bot which could be a good thing. Keep moving forward and know that everything will work out for the highest good. I am just kind of wondering why they would think the category Diaries & Journals would not be suitable for a journal. It seems like the exact right category to me.
@@MissShembrethey don't have that category though and they MAKE you choose a category before you can proceed to upload the book... I am trying to figure this out right now also....
I guess they are leaning on the technicality that Diaries and Journals is under Literary Collections - so Diary on Anne Frank type books. But if you look at the category it is filled with lined journals and prompt journals. The top book is a prompt journal: amzn.to/3JH65yd
There is no option for office supplies or notebooks for KDP. But there is an option to select Low content book - which I did. Seems like that does nothing! lol
I'm so sorry to hear this! But i did want to say thank you so much for sharing your KDP journey, and your faith! It is awesome as a fellow Christian to see someone going through this journey from a faith perspective! Hopefully the answer you got was just a bot and they will get back to you again. After reading the comments, I am pretty nervous, because I have published quite a few journals, and they are constantly put in the diary and journal category. But I also have not gotten in trouble. Though I did have a few issues with titles and subtitles, and had to try harder. But obviously they should have left your books alone since they had been up for so long already! Makes me nervous that people are getting in trouble for putting journals in the journal category! Especially with the new category system where there is not a good spot for things like 'notebooks' that do not fall under 'diary' or 'journals'!
I’m trying to figure out why they terminated your account…so you’re selling journals and you put your journals in diaries and journals category and your account was terminated??

Well that means that there is some hope there. Ive seen it to where there are some folks that get a response almost immediately stating that they are upholding their position and will not re-open their account. :-)
So, firstly, you were in the correct category. Diaries and journals fits into journal category. There was probably a competitor that knows someone in Amazon and you were making all the sales so they removed you because there’s nothing wrong with your category. If you had put it under the category of historical fiction or books about business, I’d be like, yeah I get it, but it’s a journal and you had it under diaries and journals. Amazon is trippin
The way there's no period at the end of that message makes me wonder if they started to write something and then got distracted and didn't finish? Or it's a customer rep with horrible skills? Maybe try again to see if you get someone different? Also the audio is great!
Curlfest is actually a good event to sell your items. I told my friend a few years ago and she made a huge amount and was grateful that I shared it with her. I think that now the event requires a fee but in terms of vendor, I know that my friend made mention that she just used a cart and walked around because the vendor price was $800 and that was too much money so she walked around and actually made a great amount. So sorry to hear about your experience with KDP. Wow just because of the category. I’m confused because of journal and diary is wrong, then I don’t know because what are they expecting. We all learn from the experiences and carry forward because God will surely see His children through. God bless you 🙏🏿

Also, I don’t know if you ever mentioned it in your video but when it comes to the KDP payment, do they pay bit by bit. So for instance, if someone started in January and they are supposed to get paid in March, are they supposed to receive the full payment at once or they only pay the first month?
@@GracefullyKarenKDP Payment is every 60 days. Royalties made in January on KDP is paid in March, royalties made in February will be paid in April, March's royalties will be paid in May and so on like that
You can only do what you can do. I love your videos and have learned a lot and am new at checking out your channel. I am a self-published author and am open to learning new ways to introduce my products to interested buyers. As it comes to Amazon and its response to your appeal I am thinking its a computer that is responding. I don't know if humans deal with those things.
My account got terminated and they said I'll receive my royalties. Please how soon will I receive it and are they going to pay all my royalties at once? Any idea?
This just happened to me but my account was not terminated. They are just withholding $32,000 from me. Just because my sales were “suspicious” and they assumed I was manipulating their system somehow. 😢
Where else should journals be placed if not "Diaries and Journals"? I don't get it. Also, consider following up. It seems like that response was incomplete or was just an acknowledgement that they received your appeal.
It is ridiculous that a category with the word "Journals" in it is considered inappropriate for you to actually list your journals in. They make it too hard and complicated. I wonder if they are *trying* to cause people confusion so people get their accounts terminated and Amazon can keep their royalties. Sorry this happened to you. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Do you have the option to reply to that "thank you for your message" email? Because it really does not tell you anything, yes or no or maybe so. I'd reach back out to see what that was about. Looks like this person sent an incomplete message, there's not even a period after the "thank you for your message". Good luck to you.
You have to remember that the first response is always an automated response and never a human response. These days AI is used to response to everything.

Wow, this is very unprofessional. You'd expect at least an acknowledgement and indication of next course of action. You do well to laugh at it. Praying for a positive outcome.
I really hate to say this, but I feel like this response from them and them terminating your account almost feels like a personal attack on black women who are leveling up and finding financial freedom. I really hate to take it racial but lately I’ve been seeing that in the world seems some people don’t want black women to advance to far so now they are going out of their way to try and stop us. It won’t work, but it’s very interesting to see.

Girl, fight. That's ur MONEY. Escalate it to supervisor asap, if that doesn't work call a lawyer. They unrightfully shut off your money and they need to fix it immediately your loosing money every second its off....
You did choose the correct category, u did nothing wrong, they don't have a category for office supplies paper and notepads and they force u to choose a category where it does not fit any perfectly, it's a notebook, u picked NOTEBOOK. COME ON!! You need to get a LOT MORE ANGRY AND ENTITLED SPEAKING TO THEM next.. I would write a thorough but professional letter for u for 100$ detailing your defense and their lack of a reason for being in breach of their own legally binding contract. You did everything right, they obviously need to upgrade their customer svs systems. It's in your hands, God gave hands to YOU to USE... STILL IS NOT A STRIKE, ITS OPPOSITE. When u strike ground it SHAKES and CRACKS loud sound that puts fear in anyone witnessing it. Take a stick, a 2×4 board, golf club, or baseball bat and go strike the ground... 3 times! does this still feel still? Nooooope. :) im sorry i just dont like bullies and your the 10th person with this same story it makes me so angry... Remember, only the squeaky wheel will get the oil. In the meanwhile u can join the AIAa 'allied independent authors'.(or something like that) &get more advice from more experienced authors there.
