Thanks for the sought after insight. Amazon-KDP booted me from their tyranny a few months ago and left me dangling in the wind. I have a few novellas and a collection of flash-fiction stories to publish.... will take a long look at Archway, along with the others. THANKS!

Thank you for this video. I don't like what KDP is doing in terminating authors without explanation or giving second chances. I'm already published on Barnes and Noble and Kobo with my fiction as well as KDP, but I am going to publish on even more platforms now. You have a great attitude! If you made that much money on KDP I'm sure you'll make a lot of money on other platforms.

Just published my first coloring book on KDP and they've listed it 5 to 6 dollars above where I wanted it. This will knock me out of the competition for competitive pricing. I immediately began to search for alternative publishing. Thank you for this video!

Sometime the rules change or they discover issues with your books. You may benefit from a self-publishing audit. thanks , this was very helpful. 2 platforms from what you mentioned do not appear transparent when it comes to monetizing and this will prevent them from reaching their target audience. I am not saying something is wrong but probably it is based on some sort of discreet classification !!!!

I had a journal on kdp, someone switched the interior print from color to black and white. Printed a copy and replaced my authors color copy with the black and white interior. Kdp swears it could not be done but it was. I don't know when it was switched it was a authors copy. It was switched in my apartment. I have no clue how many sales I had. My account was hacked.

You, and some of the comments below have totally scared me from trying KDP. I don't know what to do. I've written a book of short, soft horror/fantasy stories that I want to publish, but now I don't know which way to turn. This is so disappointing and upsetting. But better to find out now than later.

My account was terminated on kdp as well but I've got many warnings before it happened. They have strict rules but if you publish high content books written by you, and you can prove you have the copy rights, so I see no reason for fear. But when you sign the aggreament they do say they can terminate your account for no reason any time they want.

Having your own ISBN allows you to use it anywhere so the same book and same format (hardcover/paperback) would have the same ISBN.

ISBNs are book not platform specific (Amazon excepted). Each different book will need an ISBN.

DIY can be difficult if you receive many orders. A good alternative would be to mass-print your books in a factory, and store the merchandise in your house or warehouse to ship them to your customers.

Ok so yesterday Amazon kdp gave me my account back! I wrote a short email in October and they replied saying they needed more time to review. I’d forgotten all about it (as it was terminated 11 months ago!), but know they’ve allowed me access and the opportunity to review all my publications! 😮

14:59 I have heard that if you are terminated by kdp and you try to get your books published by a different publisher and have them listed on Amazon that publisher will also ban you because you are banned on kdp. Have you actually published any books since your ban? I was banned in April for no obvious reason and I did publish on Barnes and Noble but I've not made any sales. Ty for doing this and I look forward to more videos.

This is true. Of course, they would need to know it’s you or your account. 🤣 I’ve heard authors say their books were auto published to KDP and they had to request to have it removed. I know for sure D2D says they don’t want to harm their relationship with KDP so if you get banned you can use them they just won’t publish your book on KDP.

I've been following your kdp story, so did they pay you then suspend your account? Since in the other video you say you bought a construction house? I'm confused a bit, I'm about to start my journey and I want to know what to expect.

Heyy! Yes. They paid me the $67000 (March) then suspended my account (April ish May), gave it back to me then terminated my account (May). They did keep about $500 or so dollars tho - since they take 60 days to payout.

Do all these platforms allow books that are somewhat a bit offensive? Im trying to publish my book about the corruption that took place in my university that involves some mild swearing and some analogy that is a bit controversial and an insult to the founders of the campus, is this kind of book acceptable?

I use Lulu because I publish low-content books such as planners and journals. I am currently working on writing my first non-fiction book and plan to try publishing with Archway Publishing or Ingram as the main. However, my KDP account was reinstated so I will also publish there.

I'm so confused! I NEVER said people should use these platforms to publish books on Amazon after an account termination. If your account got terminated, you can republish your book on other platforms, just don't link that book to Amazon. The purpose of the video is to give people OPTIONS!!!!! NOT a backdoor to Amazon!

Obviously if, as you tell us, your Amazon account was terminated without explanation, that is hard. But . . . Have you no idea at all why this might have happened? Not even a faint suspicion, even though you might disagree with Amazon? I am also a little puzzled by your comment that Amazon are not at all helpful. I have so far published about 13 books on Amazon and I have found both their online system as well as their human 'system' useful and helpful. Apart from that there is a KDP community whose members are always more than willing to suggest solutions if you have a problem. It is, of course, a matter of personal experience, but I think those watching your video should be aware there are other views to the one you hold.

If you've only published 13 books, you haven't even gotten your feet wet. You aren't even a beginner. Just wait. The KDP Content team is not on your side. Anyone who has spent time on KDP knows this. They may not terminate your account for NO reason, but they will terminate your account for no good reason.

Anyone who spent time and money understand this. Amazon doesn’t care at all. They terminate the account for no viable reason. They don’t respond to messages. Everyone is complaining about them on RU-vid. I think they want to reduce the number of self publishers.

It sounds like you have no experience with all of your suggestions, I did at least look at Draft 2 digital sight , they clearly have a box to check or not to check asking if you want your book publisher with Amazon, you sound like you have no options, my suggestion do your research first .
