OMG YOU TAUGHT ME HOW TO DO NAILS WHEN I WAS CHILD😂 your the reason I never brought a drill you took your time and used a file the entire time. Nice to see your still doing videos.
The Adventures of Mi I agree with you. If I’m using my e-file it’s because I’m trying to get rid of to much product. If you lay the acrylic like butter their isn’t much to need a drill for. She just taught me so much
Oh yeah. I paid six grand in nail school to get my Washington state education for a nail tech license. We didn't even have a teacher at all. RU-vid videos was my education even though I had to go to a school to get the 600hours needed to be able to take the state tests: A Written test and then the practical test. Of course, the tests are $200.00 apiece., so $6400.00 USD for a nail tech education in the USA. I just paid money to sit in a room, read the book, and watch RU-vidrs teach me how to do nails. Thank GOD I found Kirsty!!! She taught me how to do it!! The others never said how to build a nail, just a parade of gel colors after a quick acrylic application without explanation. So I am thankful she does a great detailed examination of every step and procedure. I love her!!!!!
If kirstys willing to just do a whole video dedicated to the sound of buffing and filing I’d definitely be up for that... the sound of this video is actually so relaxing 😂
DEFINITELY saving this video for repeated future reference! I'm teaching myself to do my own polygel nails at home and shaping is my biggest problem. There's no better teacher out there!
This is such a great teaching tutorial! Could you do this same type of video but show how you file your own nails on both hands? Since I’m not a licensed nail tech, I only practice on myself and struggle with filing, especially contouring. It’s hard to maneuver the file and/or my hand to get the right angle when filing.
Thank you for going into so much detail. I’m still having a bit of an issue with my filing routine & now I know why. Thank you Adam for getting the close up shots. It really helped. Will watch this a few more times.
i love how you go through EVEY SINGLE step on how we can perfect the shape of the certain nail . You are a great nail technician. Definitely subcribed !!! ☺️💞
Loving the almond filing technique.. I was always told side walls, free edge, cuticle then barrel of the nail.. I have wondered why I keep getting lifting. Going to try this way now xx
You’re such a fantastic teacher! I always wondered why you filed the cuticle area before the free edge! I love how well you explain everything you do. Thanks Kirsty, learnt so much from your videos, way more than on my nail course 🙄
This is such an awesomely detailed video! I love that you show it with a hand file too. I do my nails at home and don't have an e-file so it's really useful to have a demonstration with a hand file.
Wow, you really know your filing!! Thanks for marking the nails with the green pen as you filed, that really helped me to understand the different angles 😊 xx
You're a technical genius💡 Filing is the technical part off the process. More people who use filing, etc., in trades could move into being a nail technician.💅 Transferable skills.☺ Really great info you gave, thanks.🙋🌸
Thank you Kirsten. That’s very helpful. I’m gonna have to watch this some more. Even though I don’t do nails for a living I love to play with them in myself. 💅🏼
Thank you soooo much for the tips on filing the edge of the file, I am not pro but do my granddaughters nails and nick her cuticle every time, and I struggle with the shaping, Big hugs and THANKS
"How to file nails like a professional." Me, an actual professional: *watches because you're so good at explaining and I still have so much to learn from you. Also your voice is very smooth*
Absolutely fantastic video detailing exactly where and how to file, thank you for making it. Would you make one like this detailing exact cuticle application,I know you already have one out there but an in depth video like this one would,I'm sure, help techs still struggling to get perfect cuticle applications without flooding it. Thanks again both for sharing this video xx
Kirsty love you are a savier did u know that??? Thank u for sharing your knowledge! I did not know about the 'earthshakes' and filing cuticle before the free edge! THANK U LUV ❤
Hi Cirsty. At my salon we put on tips, file the tip to shape and then add acrylic. Could you show how to shape a tip from its normal square form to the other shapes like stiletto, ballerina and almond. It would really help. 💕💕
Kayla_Slays _ you just cut the angles off of the tip after you glue it down then file the edges and then product. I’m not a nail tech but I’m disabled and struggle to hold things this is the easiest way I found after watching another nail tech on RU-vid.
I loved your video so much I’m going to start doing acrylic nails love it I’m a nail tech beginner this helps me learn a lot I also loved your acrylic nail for beginners it also helped me thank you I will keep watching your videos love you so much thank you once again ❤️❤️❤️
I don’t ever wanna mess up with an efile and kinda scares me lol I always love going old school thank you for breaking down everything. Your demonstrations are so precise and trustworthy!! I’m not confused at all! Thank you
Such a great video! Thank you so much for doing another, and even more in-depth filing tutorial. Would you consider doing a similar video for filing your own nails? I find I still struggle with filing my own. Thank you again!
love !!! this was so helpful. can you make a similar video for filing/shaping acrylic nails from tips? not forms. because I dont have that nice natural looking curve from underneath the nail so I have trouble keeping the from looking too flat. idk if that makes sense.. xo
que lindas uñas te quedaron, eres una exelente maestra, me encanta como trabajas las uñas, tengo mucho que aprender sobre el trabajo que haces, gracias por tu tiempo saludos.
I saw the Polish into the other day... So weird! Lol (Polish living in US) but cool cause you're awesome! & what happened to your new color? It looked awesome! Love your videos.
Kirsty omg, I have rarely loved a person this much. You just (hopefully) helped me SO much with this advice on cuticle, vibration and lifting issue. I have been meticulous in prepping, to the point where I think gosh darnit, if this thing lifts, I will (insert expletive here). I have been filing the free edge first, and cuticle last. I will be trying out cuticle before free edge now, and I am optimistic it will solve some issues. I am still new to nails (been doing it for around 4 months), and luckily I my clients dont usually get horrible lifting, but on the ones that do get lifting, I am left scratching my head.. as you said, I might have prepped the nail to "within an inch of its life", so it's very frustrating to not know the solution. The only difference is, I sculpt with gel. Would you recommend a higher grit than 80/100 for gel? I have been using the 180/100 banana files.
Your stalleto is always so beautiful. There's another RU-vidr and I won't mention who but I watch her do a set and omg anyone wearing those would need to register their nails as a deadly weapon. They looked so silly and pointed I would be afraid of hurting someone with them.
Newbie here- fantastic video! Find holding clients hands right so hard! They fight it- they want to look at everything they pull back. It’s a wrestling match how do you do it without hurting yourself I find I seem to give up and move around them more :/ which I know will cause long term problems so I’m trying to figure out now how to get control without hurting myself or them! Or yelling haha
I'm so happy I subcribes to this channel... I watched this Video words for words tkz kirsty ur sent from heaven, each time i watch ur video I make a new $$ video
Amo tus videos y aunque no entiendo tu idioma e aprendido mucho tienes una precisión imprecionante ojala pudieras subtitular tus videos saludos desde México 😘
Hi Kirsty. Thanks for these videos. They help me learn a lot. I’m a new nail tech and filing is one of the toughest things. When I’ve finished building the nails and polish I often find they look too thick. How do I know when I’ve thinned the nails just the right amount???
How do you clean your hand files? Please show a tutorial on how the different types of e-file bits are use for different parts of the nail (natural nail or acrylic) Thank You
