You and Suzie from Nail Career Education are the best nail instructors on RU-vid. I wish i could take your class. I'm so thankful you put these on RU-vid💜💜
I agree they both focus on having a solid foundation & correct technique, then making the nails pretty. So many channels it's all about how pretty the nail looks not the structure of the nail.
After learning how to do my own nails this past year and using your entire routine for prep, form fitting, application, and filing, I'm proud to say I love sculpting and have gotten very good at pinching, shaping, filing, etc. I haven't used tips in 8 months. :) Also I only use my efile around my cuticles for finish filing just because my hands get stiff (old injury). Thank you so much for all your help and inspiration! You are the absolute best imo. I'm disabled and only work on myself but I dream of getting healthy and getting my license one day. ❤❤❤ This nail hobby has got me through a lot of tough times, and so have your videos. Love Adam too and can't wait for another Faye set, or Andreas extreme shaped nails, hell even JJ's. Hope you all have a great weekend, love from Tennessee, U.S.A. 😊❤❤❤
😂 *Omg, at first I'm like, 🤔 "Why is Kirsty speaking to both sides of the room? Does she not know where the camera is at?" 😄 Then camera pans to a crowd of people in the background. Lol!* 😝
I learn something new every time I watch one of Kirsty's videos. This time it was the bit of monomer below the 2nd bead to help melt it into the 1st bead easier and the e-filing of the tip edge under the nail at the end to hide the tip. AWESOME!
I mainly sculpt but I will use tips on clients who are expert nail biters. The tips really help the chronic biters. I am SO glad that you bought up pricing in your class. So many people undercut their talent.
Thats why I love you bcuz you do sculpt a nail like I love to do..my clients do come back for a fill after 3 to 5 weeks to a month an half..if there is broken nails, its bcuz they accidentally banged their nails..I.hate glueing and sizing the nails tips and cut and blend them..not people has perfect nail beds and its so hard to glued those tips on a flat and wide nail beds..I agree with you..sculpting is faster..and you can costumize whatever nail type you want to achieve..
Kirsty!,,Much love from Kenya. The humor you incorporate in yoh teaching makes you the kind of the teacher I wanna listen all day and call my grandchildren when I am tired.
This is a fantastically detailed tutorial on acrylic placement (cuticle) and best practice filing routine. Thank you Kirsty this is more helpful than anything else I’ve seen on perfecting tip (mock-sculpting) & filing techniques. 😘💨❤️❤️❤️
I wanted to cry when I heard these amazing women talk about their prices. So many amazing artists in our industry live and charge in a mindset of scarcity and competition instead of taking the power and knowing the worth of their artistry and time. I love that you travel and empower these artists with the technical ability to hopefully make that change for themselves so they can live in mindset of abundance and prosperity. It doesn’t happen over night, it’s taken me 8 years to build the confidence, technical ability, and trust with my client to build to $100 haircut and 200$ color services. Don’t settle, always progress and further yourself!!!
I'm guilty of that incorrect file angle down the side. So changing that right away!!! Completely see how I'm doing it wrong. Thanks for these great videos, I'm learning so much! 💅👏🙌😁
I am so greatful for how generous you are Kirsty showing everyone your skills!! Your not greedy and money hungry like many techs I see these days.. like the ones who refuse to show you anything unless your paying them hundreds of dollars for a couple hours of there time for a class with them! I have seen techs posting crap saying they have plenty of people who are willing to pay a shit ton of money for there time and it's not fair to there paying students if there gonna put free content out! Which I think.is complete bullshit! You do it Kristy and share ur knowledge with the world for free but then have classes where u go waaay more in depth! And everyone is totally ok with that!! Sadly ive noticed only techs over in the UK that I see being greedy and I would kill to see a couple second video demonstration of anything from these amazing techs in the UK bc I'm in the US I cant take any classes with any of u guys! Its just shitty how some very well known techs in the UK which I'll remain nameless are so greedy for money and the only way they will show you anything is if ur paying!! ITS BULLSHIT!! Ok I'm done ranting lol thank you sooo much for sharing your skills with us all Kirsty!! 😁😁😁😁
You are so right!! I used to be scared of sculpting a nail but after I figured out how to do it, I could never use a tip again. They are so hard now. Great video
You are a fab teacher. Honestly after watching you sculpting is so much easier than messing around with tips and as nail glue doesn't stick well on me a tip is just a vulnerable lifting spot!
I have never used tips. Just started with sculpting. I am still not 100% confident but I am pretty decent. :) watching your videos has taught me SOOOOOO much
I'm at home trying to learn and this is EXACTLY where I am. Got a set on 1 hand and I'm proud to say they survived a full week in a machine shop. Looking forward to trying out sculpting!
Thanx again! I love and appreciate so so soooo much when you share your classes with us peasants 😂 Is as if I was taking your class there. I'm in North Carolina US so taking your classes is only a dream but by you shareing them I feel as if part of the dream becomes reality. Thanx, LOVE YA girl 💖
I have no desire to be a tech - I hate people and salon small talk - but I would love to take classes. Just to learn all this stuff, even if I never used it.
That’s pretty much what I’ve done. I wanted to be qualified in nails but I still work my full time job. I have a nail room at home and I’m selective about what nail clients I take on. I don’t think I’d want to do it full time, I just love nails 😍
I'm the same as you. Except I found out how much I hate salon small talk and dealing with people AFTER I got my nail tech license and started working! Now I just do my own nails for fun.
Yes, I sculpt nails all the time, can't remember last time I actually used a tip. It's much faster. I think alot of ppl just either don't know how to do a sculpted nail or don't like doing it. My new clients ask why I do it this way and they tell me they have never seen it done the way I do it (sculpted) I love sculpting them, I think it's easier also. TFS I love your videos 😍
I love that yellow polish you're wearing. Yellow is my favorite color. Love your videos, too! Your personality and the great way you explain and simplify things are so fun to watch.
It's fun to see you in teaching mode, really different kind of vibe. You're a good teacher. I love a good teacher. Thanks for sharing your wisdom and gifts with us. :)
Really appreciate these videos! I have been wanting you to do videos like these !! Thank you so much && don’t get me wrong I love the crazy fun designs but it always good to see the best doing the basics for us.
Kirsty I love love loved watching this video. You are one of the best instructors I have ever come across. You explain everything so it's simple to understand. Thank you to your students for letting us watch their class. Thank you so much for sharing this video on your channel xXx
Kirsty you have done it again a wonderful knowledgable vid I can learn from, but you are so funny when your stopped and started to do it step by step with you, I love your sense of humour and I love love adore your work please can we have more of these type please take care cos I care big hugs for your girls even if they pinch your tools xxx Jill xxx
Greetings from Bellingham, Wa!! I'm getting a fill this weekend and this video was incredibly helpful. I've binged your videos and know what to look for in a nail tech. My ultimate wish is to have you do my nails.
I just want to say Thank You for helping me make my dreams come true. I've only started but from following your advice and taking notes, I'm doing amazing tbh. I wish I was in the UK and could meet you one day. You're my idol. I want to be as good as you one day. I look up to you like others look up to sports stars or musicians. 💜👑💃🦄
id really love to hear more about your salon experience, ive been doing acrylic and gel nails since i was 17 (22 in literally 10 minutes hahahah) i cant wait to see where i'll be one day x
I love your videos !! I’m a beginner in acrylic and am learning along the way and your videos are so helpful and I love your energy ! I love youuuu❤️❤️
I was in stitches 😂 needed that, thank you. So educational and entertaining today. I always enjoy the videos and cool designs, but understanding the technical stuff is great too (not that I'll ever use it...!) 🤣
I love this so much!!! I am learning even more now. I enjoy watching nail tutorials and I really want to be a nail tech. I think this job is so much fun and I also love that feeling when you finish a good set of nails on someone and they are over the moon because of their nails.
These days, it is a must to have your nails sculpted. Because of the pricing, so many women are now doing their own nails. Especially now that the dual forms are accessible with polygel kits.
Aunque no entiendo ingles pero aprendi de lo que observe .... me encantaron los tips para poder conseguir una curva c sin usar formas para escultura explicas muy bien ....
I honestly love these kinds of tutorials that show the basics of nails. Thank you so much for making this one. I do have a question, did Kirsty use max adhesion, medium speed or high speed. Thanks!
I've always looked at tip as just platform, always taken it way on free edge if i can, ..kind proud of myself never did I think my filing routine ,tip application is the same as Kirsty's.👍🏻🙏🏻😁
