Learn to create cinematic GoPro videos with my course : pascalbasel.com/shop/cinematic-gopro-masterclass/ My GoPro Cine LUTs: pascalbasel.com/luts-presets/gopro-cine-luts/
Superb tutorial. Thanks. It's just amazing what a GoPro can do once you know how and for a fraction of the cost (and weight) of a cinematic rig. Until very recently, I thought these devices were exclusive to the adrenaline junkies club. This has certainly opened my eyes. Thank you. Peter.
GoPro's stabilization is a lifesaver. I used to pack a gimbal with me but just use the GoPro alone now because the digital stabilizing is literally better. Just shoot in 5K and still have great resolution.
Some great tips 😁 Was a bit surprised when you said you didn’t know why other channels say to use a quick motion to help for transitions and then do so at the end 😄
That's not what I mean. I mean doing a transition move in a direction that is not the direction of the camera movement. Like I show, moving the camera forward and then suddenly move to the left for transition...
All tips are great but i did not get the good results when i upload my gopro video on youtube, even if i upload and shoot in 4K, footage looks good on my ipad and computer but when i upload it shows art effects and blur in the video.
Hi Pascal, you do a great job, thank you for all your contents. I need a favour, I have a GoPro 9, I need to get a selfie stick that I can use even as a tripod, can you please suggest the best and economic one for this purpose. I am from Bangalore, India.
Don't you want to put some small cinematic video in the beginning? Like a demostration that you actually can shoot cinematic videos and your tips are worth watching. No offense. There are different people on YT, some are not professional. Vewers who are new to your channel would appreciate small demo.
This is brilliant. One question though.. toward the beginning you mentioned a mistake that you see in gopro tutorials about making a transition by panning or sliding to the side quickly but I'm the end with your bonus tips are you showing the same thing or am I not understanding correctly. Please help me to better understand. And thank you I week subscribe now 💪💪💪
Hey Pascal, i would be really interestied in some macro footage..there are some lenses to get a better close up focus on a gopro. Do you have any experience with that?
@@pascalbasel I mean motion timeplase like walking in towards the building just like in dji pocket (auto focus sensor where you can track an object during video and making it speed up ) and making it fast forward to have a cinematic effect.
I saw your video in dji pocket 2 cinematic video it was soo great and im wondering if it could be the samw in go pro hero 9 where we can make hyperlapse in building . and get the same result in gph 9.
Hello Pascal! Very interesting and useful! Could you explain how to import GP9 4K files to Adobe Premiere 2020, please? It's unsupported...But there is no problem with 1080((
One thing I struggle with is when to use polarpro nd filter and when to avoid the 180 degree rule. I know nd filter help to create "correct" motion blur, but because the sensor of the gopro is small I get shaky footage instead. I try to get my videos to look cinematic with simple movements but sometimes it wont help.
Is there a mathematical number in speed ramp? what i mean to say, lets say in 60fps if we want to achieve a smooth slowmotion, they say i must divide 24fps in 60..that what they say...now in speed ramp how will it be, to get a smooth ramp in editing..please educate me.
For slow-motion it should ways match. Like slow down 60p to 40% on a 24p timeline. For speeding up it doesn't matter that much as long as you speed it up a lot (200%+)
Question on ND filters. Do you only need nd filters for shots involving a lot of movement? Is there any advantage on scenery/slow pan/walk forward shots etc?
Generally, the less motion is in your shot the less you see the effect of an nd filter as it's only there for motion blur. I shoot most of my footage without nd filters.
I have two questions if I may please. 1. Do you ever feel that 24fps footage feels jittery due to very high shutter speed (without NDs) 2. How do you sharpen GoPro footage? I know you edit on FC but would you use sharpening or unsharp in premiere? Many thanks
@@MilanDH To me 24p feels good. Just if you do fast pan movements it can get judder. I mostly film without nd filters. It doesn’t matter in which editor you sharpen. The result is the same depending on how much you sharpen your footage. Better keep it a bit softer.
Just bought my Hero 9 last week, so everything is a struggle right now. From buying the proper mounts for my two motorcycles, to understanding what I need from an accessory standpoint for recording audio, to uploading and editing (which I have yet to do) On a side point, I did capture a very cool night shot of the moon last night.
