lion Roar Depends you are with. If you are interviewed by the top agencies they will know your CV inside out and expect you too because they have prestigious clients so they want to ensure you are capable. Recruitment consultants are all about reputation and agencies like Robert Half and Michael Page read your CV believe me.
To Misfit: This seems as if you are delving into the bowels of the high-class gene pool as if one is pursuing an executive or even a CEO position. It is the regular everyday person looking to start or pick up where they had left off.
Recruiters are bullshit. I work in cybersecurity and the recruiters just carpet bomb you with crap and don't even bother reading your profile first. I actively ignore them and got my last job by applying direct.
Also, you can upload your CV to tons of job listing websites. It also depends on the field you want to work in. A nd one more thing: don't use the Europass CV in UK. You need to use a UK type CV which does not have any mention of gender, age, date of birth or nationality in it. Only skills and experience.
Fucking right mate. I'd love to do their job, cos they have a captive audience dont they ? Giving people false hope. I am registered with at least 11 agencies , only 1 or 2 have bothered to help me. All the rest do jack shit.
@Pete Marsden: You have hit the nail on the head. Registration is the easy bit. I think thats all they do all day . They certainly dont find people any work. They just ponce about.
This video was so helpful! I typed in my search bar "first apartment in uk" and your "Horror Story + Tips" video came up. That was the first video I clicked, honestly that video educated me. I am 18 years old ready to move out next year and I needed a video like that now to see what i am looking at. On the side of the video i saw two other videos "Prices in London" and "How to find a job". All three videos have been helpful and I know what I am doing and where I am starting as I was confused on what to start with, work or looking at places. (I've lived in the UK for 6 years now finished secondary and about to finish college - I am Eastern European/ Latvian) This video was amazing, truly amazing. I am sitting here at 2:30am fixing my LinkdIn profile which I haven't touched or looked at since my teacher made me make it last year. Never thought it's needed or useful, after this video it is VERY USEFUL. Thank You Sandy for guiding me without even knowing it!
is very difficult to find a good job in the UK because most of the small companies are run by families, hiring process is quite biased unlike the US where there is a corporate culture, networking is the key, if you know someone then they will hire you, unlike the US age is also a key factor, local business tend to hire young people, discrimination is also very common
lion Roar I worked for a company last year where everyone was related except 2 people. Trying to get those sort of companies to change is very difficult. I tried it. I work somewhere else now.
I bow down to you, My Queen! The fact that such a heartthrob as you are looking for a job and not a sugardaddy is testament to the fact that you are a woman of very high quality of character.
I watched all your videos and I find them amazing!!! i'm actually thinking on moving in London in a month or so and bring my bf with me... and since I never been there every word you said is very very very useful... thanks a bunch!!!
An other helpful video! I'll be moving to bristol as an aupair in about 3/4 weeks and maybe i would like to find a job too. Soooooo....... I'm thanking you so much for making this kind of videos!
U're soo beautiful in this video Sandy. I love your videos they inspire me so much❤ My dream is go to UK as well so ur advices are more than useful for me. Thank you very much for what you are doin'.
hi..my nationality is India and i work & stay in ME (Bahrain) i have apply many retail sales job in UK but no response.. so my question is are they hired from middle east also ???
I had a CCJ i did Not know I had, this stopped me getting a job for companys such as Peacocks....so I hot work in the banking system instead. I think the point is, the more anul the HR department is, the worse the company is run. you can get a job working for multi nationals, dealing with hundreds of thousands of pounds....but you can't sell a discount pair of jeans....and they wonder why they can't get a strong management team lolz
I just turned 21 yesterday, I got experience working as a cook in singapore for over 1 year. Im a supervisor in this company but I dont have any certificate or anything. Do I still have a chance to get job there? Ireally interested to experience living in UK.

Thank you for this video so helpful. I have been moving around england past 2yrs looking for work in retail. I used to work in specsavers and toys r us. But really want to work in superdrug or tkmax since i will be moving again in a different city in the next few months. Its soo hard to get a call back from them sometimes , am i doing something wrong? And reason why i want to work in these places is that so i can tequest for transfer easily... Any tips from you would ve great. Thanks
D Pagne Probably not. If they receive too many applicants it is not worth their time calling everyone back. It is frustrating but that is just the way it is now. One talked me into applying for a job and going for an area I was not keen and then I did not hear back and I was so angry so I did call her back and she said the role had 220 applicants so she did think I was good for the job but so did many others'. I did not get that job but I did not do anything wrong but there were just better applicants. You just have to keep on going.
Hi!!!! How can I deal with the fact of been perceive like a "bossy" person. I just got a new job in a restaurant and I feel that my confidence is mistaken. Thanks!
Hi. You mentioned that you're a job recruiter, do you have any available job related to accounts? If that's the case, how we will apply if we are in tourist visa?
Is ez to find a job in UK, in UK i mean London.. just go to a agency and that's it... and btw... to leave in UK is not expensive if someone think this, if you are 25+ old, you will be payd very well, even with 1200£ you can leave here.. even in zone 2-3 to stay with a rent like 320 per month
hello, my name is Ervis ... I am from Albania and I have been working as a furniture assembler for 15 years, my age is 36 years old ..... I need to move to the UK ... Can you help me with a work contract like funitture fitter..if you can.. Thank you
Don't start applying for jobs until after you've calculated and compared the affordability of living in the different regions, and used this to figure out which geographic region you want to focus on. Spoilers: North of England, Scotland and West Midlands are good. London, South East, South coast and South West are bad. Now that you've read this, don't come back crying in a couple of years that you can't afford any more than a squalid little flat in a crappy part of London. This was your warning.
Dear Sandy if a Recruitment agency select a person for a job in uk .will they pay for the visa and flight etc.or the person will pay for his travel expenses etc.i got selected as Receptionist in a uk hotel and the agency send a job offering letter.so i accepted it and now they are asking for a fee of 536 British pounds .they are saying that its for visa fee and process so should i pay them or not.
I wouldnt pay it, if people are asking you money to come work in the UK - this could be fraud. There is a list of companies found on the UK visa website - that has authorisation to sponsor candidate, from outside the EU.

I am a Freelance Filmmaker trying to find works in Motion Graphics Design and also as a Film Director. I tried to look for Recruitment Agencies but it's hard to find really. Any guidance, link, helpful tip or actually representation?
Vielen Dank 😘😄
Hi Sandy! I really liked this video. I wondered if you have any tips concerning student jobs in the UK. Is it possible for a foreigner to find a job for the summer (a few weeks or a month) ? Thanks! :)
Hi Sandy, thank you for your help! Should we as foreigners have IELTS score when applying for a job? My experiences back home are mainly translation and administrative job.

Dear, I'm a diploma(MT) engineer as well as have been taken 9 months training about vehicle under TATA MOTORS in India. Now interested to do job in the UK.can i get any kind of automotive job with this qualification.wiil be expecting for your reply 😍
I left London twelve years ago so I do not know if my knowledge is still up to date, but: Sign up for agencies not just to find a permanent job but also they can often give you temp jobs to tide you over till you find something more settled. Temping can often lead to a permanent job but one catch to be aware of is that of semi permanent ie months if not years as a temp working for the same firm whilst all the while you can be canned just like that. Also from my experience in London, it is no disgrace to take a temping job in one field whilst looking for something in another. Employers tend to understand that it is better to have some employment than none at all.
Hello I am from Nepal and my relatives have been living in Glasgow for more than 12 years and ofcourse they have scottish passport ! how can they help eligible me to work there? suggest me please !
Krishna Shah There is higher competition here. You need at least 2.1 degree or the best one 1st Class degree and Masters. You definitely need to have proper English level for your visa application. They will test you your English.
Tait Tait and one more thing my english is not too bad. i think most people understand my english. so why i need proper english level ? Maybe your information is wrong.
When you apply for your visa, they will ask you to write an English test before they can issue you a visa. English language is mandatory for your VISA application. Even immigrants who are already here , when they want to renew their visas, they are asked to take an English tes aswell. For further information search on google on their website or ask an immigration lawyer from your country. As for getting a job here in the IT sector it's quite tricky, and like I said before, there is a very high competition in that sector. I know many people who are struggling to get a job in the IT sector. Most recruiters are employing graduates with at least 2.1 degree but mainly 1st class degree together with skills and experience. Remember these recruiters receive more than thousands of applications and CVs. Its good to have a good educational background.
Hi Thanks for the video. Something is still a bit blurry to me though Would I be able to apply for an engineering job in the UK whereas I'm living in Australia and am a Permanent Resident (not a citizen yet) and will need visa sponsorship from the uk? is there a defined or known mechanism for cases as such?
+SandyMakesSense Hey, I have ine straight question for you, I don't really have time to search for your linkedin Profile (I didn't find it listed on your Social Media ?) , so how did you manage to become a recruiter in the Uk, what is your working history, I would be really interested as I would try to follow a similar path. Thank you very much , schonen tag, tschuss :)
Hello Sandy , I'm 37 years old, I can found job in England? I am thinking to leave my teacher job here on Brazil and go to work there. I speak English and Portuguese. And I have experiences in childcare.
Been looking around online for job vacancies, but most of the requirements have GCSE’s LEVELS, which as an immigrant I don’t have it. Do you think I should get a test for that? If yes, does Immigrants can take that test to get like a certificate? Thank you!

Just be careful not to get explored as my friend Justyna from Lithuania when she first came here worked as a cleaner, only got paid £5 an hour on a self employed basis , she thought it was good money , until people pointed out minimum wage is £7.50 an hour, many bad people running UK companies
hi thank you for the eye opening video. was wondering though how easy is it for an African to get a job in the UK. what is the success rate because it seems its easier for immigrants from everywhere else but Africa to get granted access. I have been trying well over 6yrs now losing hope by the year😟 tried Germany too because I would love to work for Daimler. Mercedes

Jamal Taylor There is higher competition here. I advice you to get a first class degree or at least 2.1 degree. Majority of employers are recruiting people with Masters and 1st class degrees.
Hello, this video is really helpful! thanks for the posting. I was wondering what kind of degrees do you have and in which country did you get it? I am a Korean, who is interested in working holidays in London, but I had a bachelor's degree here in Korea, and I am not sure if there would be any opportunity for the quality jobs.
