I once applied for one of those call center jobs where I had to call people, I even went for a 4 day training. I couldn't do it. selling stuff to people who don't even know that they don't want the junk you are going to sell to them just felt wrong to me.
Having worked as a CSR for a year, I can assure you that the difference between a sales and customer job is big. When your job is purely servicing customers, they call you and need your help, so they can't hang up on you or shout at you (although this happened from time to time as well - we're working with people after all). Also, some of the phone sales jobs have lists of people, who have already expressed interest in the product/service you are selling, whom you'll ne calling. Not that it was my favorite job ever, I'm just saying that you shouldn't demonize jobs done through phone and especially not mistake sales job with customer service :)
Yea, these aren't really reliable jobs. I once applied and had the same experience as you. I didn't even finish the training because on the third day, we were given a random list of people to call and try and sell a discount card to. Most of them were unreceptive or were just rude and I understand why. Most people last around 2-3 months on those jobs if not less. I literally see the same company post job vacancies every 2 weeks haha.
This is excellent advice! Thank you for making the video! I just want to add one small tip: If you're coming to the US, "recruitment agencies" are often called "employment agencies" so you might need to ask around about that. Depending on the region, people in the US might not understand the term "recruitment agency". Also, just because you asked, I'm fluent in English (my native language), Spanish, and sign language for the deaf. I'm also reasonably competent in German and I speak a small bit of French. I'm actually currently working to become fluent in German and after that I'll probably work in my French some more. I love languages, in case you can't tell! :-)
I am currently living in Germany, but I will relocate to London in 2 weeks. My native language is Romanian, I also speak Russian fluently (I learned practically at the same time with my native language). I also speak Italian, quite fluently, I lived in Italy for 5 months, and then I relocated to Germany, where I befriended an Italian, who became my best friend! I understand French, but I can't speak it fluently, although I learned it at Uni, sadlyI did not use it at all afterwards. I started once to learn Greek (a very interesting language, I must say, I loved the simplicity of it's grammar). At last but not least, my German is not as good as I wish it to be, I can hardly call myself an intermediate. My grammar is atrocious, but people understand me, so it was enough for my daily life.
Great tips! I'm thinking about finding an internship in the UK or in Ireland when I'm finished with my studies. I speak 3 languages fluently and have learnt 6 in total. I'm amazed by your accent 👌🏻
Hey Sandy, cheers for the video! Been in Germany two months now, still looking for professional work as an engineer, thought I would've found something by now... Working at a bar atm, can be so disheartening as a very qualified professional..... Sometimes I think of moving back to Aus or to the UK, but I really want things to work out here.....
Hi Ma'am ! I am Jagadish from India , and have a good experience in hospitality industry . I have been trying often in India where the agents cheat and some denies saying with I am 36+ . I am still young and a very good, honest worker for what I have achieved many appreciation letters during my work period still . So I would request you to help me with some suggestions to reach my goal
hey great video...I have a question....can we get some decent job in uk if we have done bachelors from another country...?e.g. I did electronics engineering and have 2-3 years experience in my country... can I get a good job or its necessary to do one degree from uk and then get a good job..?
Good evening i have really liked the video and am so interested in working abroad pliz could you please help me get a job to work abroad amd Acadribo Sunday from Uganda ready and committed person. I greatly be humbled if mi request is considered
+Gagan Bhinder Only on the basis that you can speak Indian languages, I'd say no as there are already a lot of Indians in the UK. Even if there are some jobs requiring this skillset, there will be tons of other people that have it too, so you need other qualifications as well to stand out from the crowd.
I'm English and am considering applying for jobs abroad. because of the weather lol. the entry level jobs i'm applying for require a strong academic background (degree in STEM subject) plus prior coding experience in a low level language. and then under 'desirable' they list a load of random technologies specific to their work and occasionally a coding language i haven't even heard of 😂 like do they really expect someone who's entry level to know that? also i have came across an 'entry level' position earlier paying £70k and requiring 3-5 years' experience or something. I've come across quite a few jobs advertised as entry level requiring you to already be an experienced software developer (of many years)
how about marmaris recruitment agency? is it trustworthy enough? please sharing the information about trusted agency, id like to work abroad to turkey, i appreciate every information ypu give, thankyou very much.
No. Don't stop! PLEASE KEEP TALKING. I've had a headache all day and it's just started to move down the back side of my neck your voice is soothing so please keep going.
Awesome your videos, I love 'em. Your accent is amazing! I'd like to ask you, do u know if there're jobs that require Portuguese? If Portuguese is "important" in London. I haven't found, exactly, what I was looking for on that website you told us. My dream is living in London or Vancouver! I speak Portuguese (I'm Brazilian), English and I'm learning French and German. Thx!
I speak Finnish (native language) and english fluently and little bit sweden (only studyied 1 year) and just started german I think those would benefit when I get a job older because I am right now just 14 xddddddd but good with languages and have huge motivation to Germany
Hello Sandy :) Apart from the fact that this a very enlightening video, I'd be interested to know which kind of foundation, blusher or highlight do you use on your skin? It looks so glowing and healthy.
Good night, I would like to say that I really like your videos. I have a question for you. What should I do to work remotely live outside of Uk. What documents do I need? do i need bank account? this things
Hi. :-)
after getting my spanish and political science degree and a teaching certification, and after i figure stuff out after graduating, i want to live in spain and teach english for a few years, then live abroad in countries like japan, costa rica, south korea, france, italy, etc.
Hello Sandy. My name is Alexandr. I am Russian. I am 35. Nice to meet you! Well, what if overseas emploer or recruitment agencies always rejects my CV. Because I don't have job visa, contract, a job offer and of course residency. How I can find job abroad. If I go to the embassy for a visa I will be asked Job offer, the contract from an employer. What should I do? Vicious cycle. Thank you.
Hi Sandy ! Thanks for the video! It was SO interesting :) I'll be graduating next year and I'm thinking of going abroad for a year afterwards. My mother tongue is French. I'm currently studying Germanic languages: English and German. And I've also studied Dutch! :)
Haha just noticed I could have said that in german because you are german like me 😅 but I like speaking english and it happens very often that my first thought is to say sth in english rather than in german 😊 I also speak french (have done a three-month-exchange in 10th grade) and after my A-Levels next year I'm going to do an AuPair-Year in England (already so exited for that!!) 💕💕 Lots of Love from northern Germany 😊
Where is the age limit? Is it generally possible to apply for jobs (primarily for those which just require entry level skills) after an age of let´s say 35?
Thank you very much for the video, it will be very useful for me in the future ! My native language is French. I can talk in English very easily, I don't need to think about what to say or even how, everything comes naturally ^^ And also, I'm learning Spanish but I have some difficulties to be honest 😂😂 Anyway, I love your videos !
Hey Sandy!:) Did you apply from Germany or you were already moved there and apply? I was thinking doing care jobs and the finding something else office jobs like recruitmnet etc.
I'm from a tiny island called Saint-Martin and hoping to make a move back to the UK. I lived, studies and worked in the west middlands a couple years back, but this time around I'd like to move to London. Thanks so much for all the tips. They are really helpful for my next move!! 👍
@@SandyMakesSense During this time i'm feeling lonely, that is the main thing. I can't get my passports, i can't go out, i can't meet people. I feel like i want to use dating sites or something.. idk. So that i can find someone to talk with and be with. fucking lonelyness is killing me. I wanted to talk to someone that is all i wanted so that i can get this load off my head. Is that too much to ask for ! I could talk to my friends yes but i don't want them to feel bad for me you know, i do not what them to be sad for me. So i though like, why not talk to some random person on youtube so that it might make me feel better and i don't have to feel any shame in it. By the way lass my real name is Prince. I'm a person who helps and motivates others and also a leader in every activities but i don't have noone to talk with. The funny thing is that the people who knows me won't even believe that i'm sad due to the positive energy i give them when i talk with them. They all think that i'm happy as heaven but i am not. Very hard to find someone who is sincere and loyal. Anyways noone will see my comment except for you and me and a few more people since this is public. But thanks for asking and have a great day lass and you stay safe out there 😊😊.
