Wasn't expecting a vid like this cuz I'm subbed for the music production tips, but this is a genuinely great video. There's a lot of idiots out there right now trying to spread their selfish; toxic; exploitative idea of what masculinity should be and how you should date as a man. Obviously I can't speak for what's its like dating as a man, or what men need to do, but the more caring; long-term; and equality-minded form of masculinity you preach in this video is refreshing to see. I'm an atheist so I obviously disagree with a lot of this video, and I'm used to seeing people try and weave sexism and hatred into their idea of christianity, as well as into how they think men should act as christians. So this was a much needed reminder for me that christianity can be practiced in a good, loving and healthy way. I've certainly known a few punks who could do with watching this, and I feel like the world could really do with more positive role models like you. The only thing I really take issue with is that you seem to push the idea of family life as what men need, but I think to each their own, I'm sure some men really would be happier being single all their life. Being a husband and father was clearly right for you, but I don't think that means it'd be true for everyone. Overall tho I was suprised with how good this video was. Also leo is adorable 🥰

i related to this video so much! especially when ive been through 3 toxic relationships that almost k*lled me. But thanks to those experiences and therapy im at a point in my life where i dont really put up with shit anymore. Man, absolutely no one has an idea of how many of your points I can relate to. Tdlr I had to suffer physically and mentally... So that god (or the universe depending on where you from) teachs you and help you achieve. Generally,it gets easier much easier as you learn through experiencing. Back on November 2021... If you had a look at my life from the outside it was completely crumbling... The university I was applying to had issues, so I couldn't get in or get a visa... and my family back in my country where living in a war... and had the equivalent of 1.5 dollars on my account. that month I decided either I die out of hunger or take full responsibility of my self - also I remember one of my goals at that time was to quit *orn completely - I found a job at a restaurant... I was literally sleepong with bed bugs then waking up in the morning with blood sports on my back. Take a shower, ware a white t-shirt which still shows the blood spots on my back l, gotake care of the opening. 12 hours, complete exhaustion shifts, I've seen locals and non locals come work a day and leave. And let me tell you the physical suffering wasn't enough, I had to go thru the mental anguish discovering that the *person who wanted to be with me* had been hiding a significant other all that time. That was I would say my first heart shattering moment, literally I could feel pain through my heart. There's a lot more to the story - more pain lol and many milestones- and more points that relates to what Carlin is saying. but my main idealogy is to always keep pushing thru pain, I've always been thankful to learn thru it.
I didn't mention the letting go mentally. It doesn't only apply to people but to materials also. The idea that even if you have something now it doesn't mean you own it, and it can be easily taken away from you. So use what you have when you got it and use it for good
I personally don't subscribe to the religious/faith aspects of what you're saying, but I have no hate towards anyone that believes in that stuff (as long as, obviously, they're not using it to justify immoral acts, which you're obviously not doing) and I completely agree with what your saying. I just happened to arrive at the same conclusions as you, but without religion. And that's fine. You are beautifully addressing and accurately analysing some INCREDIBLY complicated topics here. If I'm a business and I have employees. Our intent may be to make the customer feel heard and make it easy for our customer. If a customer comes in and asks for a special payment plan that doesn't exist, it would be in our interest to create that in order to achieve our ultimate goal: "Make it easy for the customer" If everyone in the business understands this, it's not about HOW they do it, it's about making the customer FEEL as if we made it easy for them. 2+2 = 4 and so does 5-1 = 4. Same result. Different approaches. Intent is having the same result.
