Sitting in class learning from and with Dr.Lori is the best fun I have had in yeeeears being educated about a subject .....who said education has to be boring Eh! Thank you again
This is more fun than so many others.. and educational too. Don't concentrate on the education only--when you are having fun, it's easier to learn and remember things.
Dr. Lori! Wow! We are so honored to be part of your show! Katerina, Meghan and I want to thank you for the kind appraisal of the Pena artwork. What a find for us-at a bargain as well. Able to pick that up for around ten dollars, and it helps us to know we are on the right track! We are opening our own virtual antique store very soon and have learned so much from you over the years. Thank you for your kind heart and generosity of knowledge and shared passion for art! We have more pieces to share with you, and soon we will utilize your appraisal services for more surprises we hope! Cheers and thank you's all around.......
You never cease to amaze me! You know everything!! The Indian beaded ball, the cane with the gun, the peacock censer...You have so much information on those interesting items. What is a censer anyhow??? “Education doesn’t have to pretty, you just have to get to the right answer.” Love it. Using that one on my kids this school year. 😉
You are learning about the study of people and the objects they made over history. You still have time to kill some virtual zombies if you want to...thanks for watching. You are the coolest.
Dr. Lori thank you for noticing me🙃🙃🙃🙃 I enjoy watching your videos sooo much, I learn so much from them, you have inspired me to go to thrift shops antique centers and yard sales, because of your videos I make so much money on eBay, my best find was a original (#1)1959 ponytail Barbie black and white swimsuit that made me $6618.50, I purchased the doll for $1 at a garage sale only because I saw you appraise a similar looking doll, it turned out to be the 1st ever Barbie😱😱😱 every time I see you upload a new video it makes me so happy 😀 when I grow up I want to be a auctioneer all because of you, thanks so much for reading this very long comment. Hope you have a wonderful day😊😊😊❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👌🤞❤️❤️❤️
AWESOME! I want you to be empowered, have fun, flip for cash from the trash, learn new things. You can thank me by staying in touch here and watching my youtube vids. You made my week with your success story. Your friend, Dr. Lori
Go Pittsburgh! Good tip on narrowing down what you have but knowing what you DON'T have and also trying to write the signature so engage your brain to identify the alphabet. Good video!
Dr.Lori Super Awesome share here absolutely loved it! Your so adorable and Amazing! Thanks for the Great videos there so interesting, fun and educational. ✌😘💋loveu Dr.Lori!! Have a fabulous New week! :)'
DR LORIIII!!! I negotiated at an estate sale today and instead of paying 25 dollars for a painting I paid 10!! I didn’t even know if it was a notable artist until I went home and looked at it more thoroughly and it’s a E.P McGill! I just sent photos to your website. I hope it’s a good one 😅😅
Glad you like them! People take me shopping with them. Get your smartphone and we can hook up during a video call when you are shopping. I'll point out the bargains.
Happy to hear it. We are working on more. Did you see the other video with viewers videos at ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-N1hPYAm-Lu0.html
Dr. Lori I must not have. I will go look now. I thought I had seen ALL of your videos! Huge fan 😬 BTW, I just set a video appointment with you for Saturday. So EXCITED!!!!! 😬😬😬😬😬👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼💕💕💕💕💕💕
Are you using the binge link ru-vid.com/group/PL384695BCA1841B8F ? I posted a video today and a new one later. This link always plays the most recent vid from any YT channel where I appear. Enjoy your collection!!
Great video, as usual! I always enjoy learning various snippets of history from that vast array of knowledge of yours! Hope to see you in Texas "soon".
GREAT GREAT video as always Dr. Lori! I am so amazed every time I watch your videos. I’m learning so much from you. You are so fun and knowledgeable to watch. I appreciate all of you valuable information that you continue to share. Looking forward to your next new video! Thank you!🙂
Dr Lori, although I like some audience participation videos, I prefer the videos sent to you. They are more personable and it appears you get more info to evaluate. Often times too many distractions at the audience ones. I got your name from “George, the antique nomad”. He spoke highly of your knowledge, someone he aspires to be like. Being personable seems to get us to watch the RU-vids. Hey, I’d watch you even if you’re just sitting at a table by yourself talking to us evaluating items.🤷🏻♀️
I like these videos. Gives me an idea what a video looks like for evaluation. I've seen your instructions on your website but this puts the two together.
Just to clarify, these videos from viewers are a little different than my video calls. The video calls allow us to interact with each other in real time as we talk about your items.
How wonderful appraising work Dr Lori did on the first picture! The one made by a Spanish name artist. This must have been an answer very hard to be found, since she just had a short film about the picture. Great antiques appraiser!
I’m going to schedule a visit- just trying to figure out what three items to have appraised. I have a small art nouveau vase with a lady with dragonfly wings.
Welcome!! Thanks for subbing. Sometimes YT notifications are missed when I post new videos. You can always find the most recent posts in order at ru-vid.com/group/PL384695BCA1841B8F
Dr. Lori, we all want to invite you over for dinner and not just to pick your brain! We love your sense of humor and personality and we have questions. Unanswered questions about YOU! lol. But seriously, we do! Inquiring minds like ours wanna know!
Not to mention I'm in the midst of a pandemic break up. Do you know how hard it is to break up during a pandemic? You are the only thing keeping us from killing each other! Everything else we fight over but the only thing we do agree on is our love for Dr Lori. You're the saving grace that brings us back to sanity even though it's only for a moment! Our dogs thank you!
What don't we fight about? Taurus men are really really stubborn. I have never had a good picker so I will just forget about men altogether and focus on myself. I highly doubt that it's natural or possible for most male/female couples to be happy and content in the same house. But you are not a couples therapist or a matchmaker so I will stop whining about it to you lol. My point was that in the darkness of our pandemic breakup joyless lives, there are these brief moments of light and laughter and they are called Dr Lori!
No worries. Don't miss my other videos this week. You can always go to the link ru-vid.com/group/PL384695BCA1841B8F to see the most recently added vids in order.
Dr Lori.... your awesome 👍🏻 how do I send in a video? Iv got a WW1 poster that I’m pretty confident it’s super rare, super valuable...I’m not so sure. I can only find one other copy and it’s in a museum! I’d love for you to see it 😁
Thanks Chris. We post the details to be considered in my newsletter which you can join on my website and in the community tab on my channel here that subscribers of the channel can view. There is no charge currently for either subscription.
I'm going to miss the live chat today, but I have a good excuse, it's my Mom's birthday. I'll be watching it later. Thank You Dr. Lori, Love all your videos, very informative, and you're such a blast to watch. Good job!! Have a great day 😀
I have a vase that looks like Mrono glass it is green at bottom and gos to pink at top. Looks like hand blown on bottom.. but has a sticker that says teliflora on bottom.. sorry if misspelled
Send me photos of the vase. Use the form on my website. To get to the form, watch a video and click on the "i" icon in the top right corner. See my face? Click on that and it will take you to the Send Photos form on my website.
Just had. To jump on here. And tell you how much I loved this video!...I learned...I laughed...and it reminded me how much I miss watching you when life gets in the way!😄 Hopefully my life will be a lot less chaotic now and I can enjoy my "Dr. Lori" time!! Really appreciate your work on these videos! Great job!
Sorry to hear things have been rough! I'm happy to hear you are still enjoying the videos. Have I told you about using this link ru-vid.com/group/PL384695BCA1841B8F so you see the most recent videos I've done first? I posted three new videos this week already.
Do you ever do local Antique Roadshow"s? I know as they travel the states, they use some local historical and antique appraisers for that weekend show. Just a thought.
I have a fondness for etchings. I bought several and removed from the frames because the cardboard was turning them brown. Icky! So do I need to do anything to stop that process or just frame them properly?
I would lobe for you to tell me if you know anything about lagardo Hackett's (eggheads) 1958 condom holder. Iys very intriguing and I would lobe to send you some pictures
@@DrLoriV , I am now!!! And I went to go check out the calendar of events on your website and have some of the upcoming live videos flagged. Is there a way that we can submit questions about things we want to learn? I've been pouring over every video that I can find where you explain how to look at the backs of paintings to learn about them. It is has been enormously helpful but I have seen a huge variety in the backs. One of the things I am now VERY curious about are wood panel/board/copper(???) paintings. I feel like I am seeing a lot of those and I have no idea how to value them. That and about a million other questions...
@@natalielacey868 Happy to help. I help a lot of people with their questions about specific pieces. You can even take me shopping with you on your smartphone! All the details are on my website.
Think this is the first time I heard the word “symbolism” and it didn’t relate to free masons, alister Crowley, jack parsons, Disney, other occultist, or the Illuminati
How are things valued that are one of a kind? My husbands dad owned an advertisement company in las Angeles and he passed away in 2003. We were handed down his art profolios from the mock ups to the adds he was doing. Advertisements like fisher price, Coleman, pulsar watches, some bike company, and many more. I’m just curious if these types of things are collectible or valuable to anyone other than our emotional bond to them.
There are many pieces of artwork that can be considered one of a kind. Advertising collectibles too. I've appraised similar types of items for families like yours over the years. You could start with a short video call with me to get an idea on a few pieces.
Dr. Lori Yes, I do have several similar ones in different sizes. And even a red one 😊 But never seen one in the US before. I will find the other video. Thx for the response. I do enjoy your videos.
@@rikkemadsen2091 Thanks for watching. I can identify and value your specific pieces if you want. I look at photos and you can show me pieces during video calls.
Yes I have several videos and articles about holiday ornaments. Just search my channel and my website. I can also look at yours to determine what you have and what people are really paying for them.
I have this piece of china with a name like written into the bottom and I'd love to figure out how to price it, but I also don't want to pay $50 for a piece that might only be worth $50 or less
That print looks like a person dressed in a white jumpsuit, sitting with her legs pulled up and her arm across her knee. I thought mountains at first, then the person leaped off the paper!!
Then you got a bargain! My appraisal values are based on actual sales where I have seen pieces actually sell for that much. There are bargains out there since many people don't know what they are selling or simply don't care. You can also resell pieces for my values if you know where and how to sell. I helped a person sell a plate for over $1,000. They bought it at a yard sale for only $1. Happy to help.
