Great job on the explanations. The world would indeed be a better place if more young people had your attitude. Keep up the great work.

Thanks for dropping some knowledge. If you have time, I think it would be very interesting to what you have learned and some of the challenges you faced on your cnc router table.

Definitely would like to see and learn more about router table and how you use it.

D*mn lol never thought of using a ROUTER table instead of a CNC plasma or even a CNC mill....router wouldn't require a heavy duty plasma or compressor. Less mess. And I'm guessing less cost? Seems pretty cool what you were able to do with it! Do you think that thing could handle thin stainless? 🤔 that would be a major selling point for me. Trying to decide if one of those or a mill should be in my future investments or not. Thanks bud, great to see ya!

A nice explanation. Though with those dimensions shown, more likely to get 3.05 and 3.05 after (2.95+3.15)/2. In addition, it would be handy to mention the thickness, the clamp location as a function of thickness, and the importance of choosing the same reference point (clamp edge or pivot line) for each bend.

What are the advantages of having a box pan brake with a segmented lower blade as well as the upper blade being segmented??
@johnhunt6992
@johnhunt6992 2 месяца назад
Known as a European style pan brake. Allows you to do interrupted folds. If you remove say the left side lower segment from a bend, the apron raises and bends on the right side leaving the left side flat. It could also provide clearance to allow you to do reverse bends. Like bending a flange up next to a flange that is bent down. I find i it allows me to machine bend some parts that I would otherwise have to bend over the edge of the bench, or blocks of wood / odd bits of steel with a mallet or slapper if I only had the more common upper segments. Hope this helps.

Ya it shure appreciate when you use box and pan brake and use NC Air bending press brake lots of difference I use a note book on what I do on either side of bending process box&pan or hydraulic press brake air bending. Some day I add a laser system for much more accurate bending.

I've never hear of the laser system but that would be awesome!

@@5thStreetFab you got any tips for sealing up aluminum tube? Repairing a 50 year old boat top, the pressure inside the tube blew out the lap joint (angle to tube), guess I went too slow for the heat I was running. Couldn't seal it up, the air kept pushing out even after letting it cool. Drilled a 1/16 inch vent hole just so I could seal up the actual weld. Waiting for it to cool, then gonna try and zap the hole shut. Any ideas? Thanks.
@5thStreetFab
@5thStreetFab 2 года назад
@@josiahwright7114 if you can zap the hole with a mig its usually easier. If no i usually drill a 1/8" hole, shove some 3/32" filler in there before i start. Then i start about 3/8" away to get a puddle going and quickliy run over to the hole while pushing the filler in. Another way ive seen is people purging the tube with argon first.

@@5thStreetFab I don't have a spool gun, but I like the idea of shoving some wire in the hole first. I'll give it a try. Thanks.
@josiahwright7114
@josiahwright7114 2 года назад
@@5thStreetFab I let it cool, stuck a little piece of rod in the hole, then zapped it quick, stuck in a dab of filler, and it's good. Ground down nicely with no pit. Thanks for the tip.

How has the Arc Flat tables been holding up? Are they relatively flat across all the tables after joining them together?
