I am positive that your videos are gifting so many young moms the opportunity to accept themselves and improve their own mental health. I felt so similarly as a young mom 15+ years ago, but it wasn’t really talked about or normalized at all, even though I’m sure there were tons of other women going through the same thing. Your videos are very validating and healing for me, you have a gift for vocalizing those feelings in a way that is so clear and logical and non-judgmental.

Thank you for this! I really struggle with embracing the homemaker/tradwife part of my life with my son. My husband and I both work from home full time and we can thankfully trade off on taking care of our toddler, but it is still tough when we have to have phone calls or meetings. Something that has really helped me when doing tasks for him like waiting in the pediatrician's office or going to the park is that I have a highly portable hobby (knitting). That way I can work on something for me when I have my hands free.

its a breath of fresh air to relate to a young mother like yourself. Is it weird that I am happy that baby #2 is coming December for me and we are content with our family of 4? Husband and I love our time now with our toddler and look forward to raising our littles to be amazing humans but at the same time we are excited to get our "us" time in the future once the kids are all grown. Honestly, I love my job as it is kind of my escape and let's me use my brain in another way other than being a mother (probably will be working for 30 more years before retiring) and the thought of raising kids for the next 20 years while working seem exhausting so yes I agree we need to find balance!

I had a parttime job (evening and weekends) when my kids we’re small and as they got older I transitioned to full time when they both started school. It was a struggle sometimes but I really enjoyed having something that was ”just mine” while also spending a lot of time with my kids.

1. You are so beautiful, your hair always looks so shiny and healthy. 2. Thankyou for actually talking about real life mom problems. Although I work fulltime, I feel I relate to a lot of your content. 3. I hope you can find ways to balance your needs and wants along with maintaining your time with your fam. Just thankyou! ❤

I have a toddler, work full time and expecting our second soon. I love my career and it brings me so much fulfilllment I know I would be miserable as a stay at home mom but I still love my daughter and being with her but I know its not the life for me to do that 24/7. I think we all need to let go of the pressure to be the "perfect mom". As long as you are happy and they are happy you are doing good for your family, be it stay at home, work from home or work out of the house. What my daughter gains from daycare is so valuable, even if I did stay at home, I could not do all the fun things they get to do there and all the social interaction she has.

What's been big for me is to have a rythm in the day and in the week. So every day has a set 'main' activity, and our days roll by a predictable rythm. It takes that whole 'what am I gonna DOOO today!?' away I had when I first was a SAHM.

Also, having something for you as a woman/adult person aside from your role as mother has been huge. I personally have taken on a second MA, studying part-time, 'cause I love studying and like to be intellectually challenged beyond 'yes that truck is red!'. But others might want to take on RU-vid😉. It's just, I want to feel like a capable adult that can interact with other capable adults beside feeling like a mother who is great at catching falling cups and having eyes in the back of my head and talking about naps, eating, and all things baby/toddler.

Thank you for being open. I'm struggling with the same thing just now and have been. My sister is a sahm with 5 kids and I definitely feel wrong for not being more like her and being comfortable with being in the house all day long but I just feel trapped and isolated when I do that. I've got baby #3 on the way so really want to find a peaceful way of life before she comes. I want my kids to grow up with a happy fulfilled mommy and I want to enjoy all the sweet little kid moments before they're gone and I look back in regret. So thanks for the tips. Perhaps I'll try out taking my boys on some hikes with their pregnant mamma. 😅

People speak negatively on the wanting to be away from your kids thing, but when they’re older and have an understanding of personal space they’re going to want time away from us. As they should. Our kids need to learn to set boundaries for themselves and this is just one way to teach by example

Idk I still say perhaps a part time job? I’ve been following you for a while cause I like how you got a calm job outside of corporate but for a while you seem unhappy, no disrespect but it constantly seems like you are trying to convince yourself or force yourself into doing things you don’t want or didn’t plan too. I think you need an outlet like something part time or something for JUST YOU. You seem to be losing your self and I think it may breed resentment later. I hope this isn’t offensive

Yes, we don't see everything, but according to her videos it seems the SAHM phase is just not for her.

@@bettinak.4 She is in a very privileged position where she doesn't have to work (well other than RU-vid).

Great question and with a very complicated answer! Yes, I do think I would do well with a part time job, but with the cost of daycare I would probably break even or come up short financially so I don't think its worth it. I also wouldn't have time to do RU-vid if I had a part time job and I love this work so I'm not willing to sacrifice it. On top of that, I'm staying home with my kids, knowing that I'm making a sacrifice of my career development and freedom because I (personally) feel like it's the best thing I can do for them. That is why I always seem like I'm trying to force myself to do something I don't want to do, its because I am haha. It's such a short amount of time that the kids are this little so I'm more than happy to make the sacrifice and be home with them. There are many many years after this that I can pursue my career full-force and I know I'll be looking back on these years grateful that I got to spend everyday with my kids. I do also want to add that I have found a rhythm lately to find fulfillment in my life as a SAHM which you'll hopefully pick up on in this video and many others. Hope this clears things up!

Honestly I agree. Every video is about a similar version of the same topic. Unfortunately I will have to unsubscribe because the channel doesn’t really align to my own values anymore which is a personal choice. But I do hope Ashley finds what she wants and maybe even starts to enjoy being a Mum to her boys.

@@AshleyEmbersI’m in the same boat. Unless I’m working a full time career, getting a part time job would not be worth it with the cost of daycare. I’ve had multiple offers and unless I could get really cheap childcare I don’t find it worth it. And if I just worked when my husband was home, I would never see him/ we wouldn’t have family time.

How do you incorporate hobbies with younger kids. My son is 16 months and our hobbies were doing woodworking things. The garage isn’t safe for him to free roam or he tries to run away 😅. I’ve been struggling since he is still needing a lot of attention and I think going thru a clingy phase.

What are your kids nap schedules when one is at 2 and one is at 1 nap? We’re just dropping the third nap and I’m dreading having a 2 and 1 with no overlap for my alone time during the day!!

Idk how old your kids are, but I have a 2 year old that naps in the afternoon, and a 9 month old that naps around 9 & 1:30, so luckily the baby's second nap overlaps with the toddler's! Maybe you could try something like that so you can have a break?

I sympathize with the mommas that stuggle in these areas, i have too! But what i have found is that joy and fulfillment dont come from the things we do in life but they come from Jesus Christ! He is where the joy is, and when we surrender our lives to him! True love, joy, and fulfillment will enter our lives! And he is the only one who can sustain that!

You are not a trad wife. Spreading this narrative is harmful to other women, and frankly regressive in terms of advancements we have made regarding women's rights and gender roles.
