Last weekend I had my son text the guy that farms my ground to see about hunting an 80 that he owns that we had never hunted before. They guy said that he guessed it was OK Being confused, I had my son call him. He said it was OK, but he had never seen any coyotes there. When we got there and finally found a spot to set up my son and I both thought it was a terrible place and we would never go back there again. 5 minutes after firing up the call, we had a dead coyote.

Most states have a yearly free plat map that shows land owners and some even have phone numbers and addresses for the owners

Im telling you buddy, you do an exemplary job of giving not only the basics but explain it so well... any advice on how to coyote hunt right Now? I know I can knock on doors... any other ideas? I live in Illinois and even if I have to pay for one, I just want options? I am self-taught in all my hunting quests, my life is the wild turkey, and without bosting I'm very good. Just want to hunt coyotes real bad and I don't have any access to private land at the moment. any advice?

You can try to use a mapping app line onx to find some spots if you pay for the private lands overlay. That would allow you to get some names and find some phone numbers with some googling. You might also try asking around on Facebook in some local groups to see if anyone would be willing to meet with you. Maybe some local farm groups?

You can use a county assessor site to find information on land owners for free based off of who has paid the most recent property tax payment. It won't give you a phone number, but it will give you a name to go along with the address you are searching.

How early should you be out and set up the following morning after you have located them the night before?

Depends on a few factors but you should be in your spot at least a half hour before sunrise. The earlier the better though.

Given the awkward with people part---I like to drive by ranches, farms then copy down their road address and write a personal note to them--offering "Free coyote removal". So basically its like they are coming to me first rather than me blindly knocking on a door. Then I set up a time and day to meet the person, and they'll usually point out the best area to set up on their land...heck at times, I feel like I should charge them for this "service" and they'd probably pay--but its how I do it. Good video and info, but the whole standing back and walking forward to the camera 500 times was extremely annoying and almost made me skip to the next video in my list... pretty sure this video was made for women...
