Hello. Thank you very much for the detailed instructions. Perfect! Would it be possible to ask for a similar guide when I enter the following properties into a simple task database: task name the day of the task the estimated time of completion of an individual task in hours, for example (ie not a time interval as in the calendar - e.g. 12:30-13:30). So I can have multiple tasks in one day. But I would like (probably using a second database) to be able to add up the individual values of the task completion time in one day. The purpose is (if I don't care about the order of the tasks and no task has a specific time) to get this total to notify me that I have scheduled tasks over the daily limit of e.g. 8 hours (the tasks so far for that day have a total of 7 hours for example) and I want to add another one lasting 2 hours ... so with this last task I would exceed the set maximum of 8 hours).... If it were possible - thank you very much in advance for your time!
Hi yes that's possible. We would need to use a formula to calculate the difference in time. Once the difference is calculated for each time then we can use relation and rollup to get the sum of all hours for a particular day onto another database and then from there we can calculate the differential time for the required time difference of each day's all tasks combined. Hope this gives you a starting solution to get the desired job done.
Great video but what if i have several sales persons and i want to know only the total for each one ? can i do that there is no way to find how can i do it ?
@@leoneldonatini5794 Thanks for appreciation. You need to create relational properties for each salesperson onto another database and then in the second database you would be able to see the total sales of all the salesperson individually.
Hi no that won't be possible as there is no direct one way link with the total sales to be reflected in the adjacent column other than using a rollup from a second database.
There are ways for this, but it can't be done directly, what can be done is to create an additional column where you can specify "add this" for every 4th row of the data and then use a formula to add only those rows. Hope this makes sense!
May I know how can the sum still be calculated automatically if I keep on adding sales person and the amount of sales(increasing row ). This is really important for me ❤
Hi when you add more rows of data onto the first database you need to link the data onto the relational database placed at the bottom to keep the relation of each new row intact. In this way whenever a new row item is added it automatically brings the total sum onto the desired value and gives you the output. Hope this makes sense
@@theaccountantguy Is there a way to have it automatically being relationed? I have a daily sales tracker where every day it's a new row and would reeeeally make it super amazing and easy if it would automatically directly add the relation every new row I make on the original database, thanks man
@@alejandrosmusic8685 That would require use of creating a template and setting a default template with the predefined settings. Look for "how to create a default template" in Notion and you can get the desired steps.
