Hi...What if your company has offerings that don't have a ticker? We use John Hancock and some of the offerings - for example State Street SSgA S&P 500 Index Non- Lend K doesn't have a ticket that I can look up. I was trying to find what the dividend yield was on this but of course...can't find that either. Help. Thanks.
Usually you can check it but who knows.. I find that 401ks are extremely predatory for hidden fees and taking money from people. The funds can just be so awful... My current employers 401k I have most of their funds are 1.5% expense ratio or more, I had to use a 'separate account' SP500 fund which they try to almost give warnings out when you try to invest money into it. It's the only thing under .2% expense ratio they had. I am keeping my old 401K from my old job because it's better, probably will transfer funds off this 401K provider when I switch jobs.
Ari, It is really good that you DO mention that some FA do not give enough value for the fees they charge. I am still watching, but do you mention that 401Ks have about a .5% management fee, while IRAs do NOT have this fee. So far I have seen that managed funds are higher in fees than Index. Which of course is yet another way that FAs make money
You don't like Contra? It beats the S&P 500 most years. Look at its 10 year compared to the SPY. It is one of my largest positions. I have held it for many many years. (I think , About as long as you have been on earth 😀😀)
And while I agree Gemini and ChatGPT are good tools. You have to be careful with them, as they frequently give wrong info. Always check their replies some way. And they are AWFUL with tax rules. They frequently screw up.
Final comment, (I promise). You cant call those firms that only to the top 3 on your table. actually financial advisors. THey are more of a "stock picker" It does sound like ROOT DOES do Fianancial Advising though. So good for you. (As you can probably tell, I tend to be self managed though). Doesnt mean I dont enjoy your videos, and like to comment.
