Certain older model with very small bezels look bigger if you can't find the jumbo version it's often a decent compromise. I'd look for the thin square piagets pre-striped polo's or for round cases the Universal Geneve altesse and similar...

We have a striped Piaget Protocole on stock. Maybe it is something for you ;-)

You produce some of the best content out there! Thank you! That said, I fell through the rabbit hole trying to research -- is the watch at 4:00 the JLC Serie Unique?

Hi guys. I'm from India. I have only quartz watch in my collection. I am planning to get my first automatic watch. I have Vostok brand watch on my mind. Love to hear from your side. My budget is less than $250. My wrist size is 6 1/2 inch.
@GoldammerVintageWatches
@GoldammerVintageWatches Год назад
Heyy, unfortunately we have no experience with this brand. But 250$ is a very nice budget and you got many options! I would recommend you to go with Seiko :)

@@GoldammerVintageWatches Thank you buddy, but my close relative had a very bad experience with seiko such as misalligned dials and the watch had got to 2 services within its first year. So that's a huge drawback for me. Do you have some other suggestion as you would have experiences with a lot of brands.
@GoldammerVintageWatches
@GoldammerVintageWatches Год назад
I'm sorry about that of course! But then the fault lies not with Seiko, but I think rather with you when you bought. I can say from my experience that Seiko builds good watches for little money. Otherwise, you can have this problem, what you went through, with any watch manufacturer. The most important thing is to buy a watch in perfect condition - no matter what price range. Unfortunately, I can't recommend anything else to you, as I only have personal experience with Seiko in this price range.

Great video that you can tell came from a watch enthusiast with experience. I didn’t know my taste until 3 years of studying and collecting because my tastes kept changing. You eventually get to the point where you know what you like, but that comes with time. I always recommend my friends to go simple in the beginning like a Datejust or Air king that they won’t ever regret and can always resell.

Much appreciated! I absolutely agree with you, it takes a few years to know exactly where you want to go. We recommend exactly the same to our friends, true to the motto better safe then sorry. The DJ and AK are stable value entry models but still very expensive for many people. We often recommend stable value models that are something for every budget - like the Eterna KonTiki. A fabulous watch! However, have a nice day :-)

Take your time. Try watches on. Don't just go with hype. Choose real established brands and buy from trusted sources. This is how I ended up with IWC Mark XVI ❤️

@@GoldammerVintageWatches thank you so much. The Mark 16 is from 2011. Its 39mm and 11mm thick. I prefer a tiny bit smaller but it's fantastic
@GoldammerVintageWatches
@GoldammerVintageWatches Год назад
I guess 39mm is a good pick on this piece. Perfectly balanced in combination with the clean dial. Thanks for the conversation!
@Valera_Scotland
@Valera_Scotland Год назад
@@GoldammerVintageWatches I do wish it was 37mm, but like you say - its a pilot style watch, so 39mm works (18cm wrist)... I think the next one (there is always a next one for us watch people), will be something like a 36mm vintage Omega or vintage Rolex . I also love Bond era Seamasters, so maybe that would be fantastic too... have a good eve and thanks for a great video. Agree with everything you've said
