Didn't thoroughly explain how to choose the appropriate Z-score for a left-hand probability of 0.96. when it didn't correspond perfectly. You want to use the closest one but if it's in between, you want to have a bigger confidence interval, according to what I learned in class. So when unsure, choose a slightly larger z-score.
Doesnt the idea is to calculate only the area between -z and +z for a confidence interval. May i know why we are also including the area left of -z for calculating z scores?

For all those who don't have/get a table (like me) during your exam, you can use the Inverse Normal PD function with area: (1+CFL)/2, mean: 0, and sd: 1, this should give you the z-score.

If you ever have the misfortune of taking statistics using Pearson online resources, you'll find a large number of problems where the instruction is "use technology to find [a variable]" with no explanation of what kind of "technology" to use or the name of the formula. Now I have the name of the calculation I can use. I spent about 3 hours trying every search in Google I could think of, but online searches only go so far without the right words...

I am a little confused still. An 86% confidence level has an 1.48 Z-score. In the Z-table, the Z-score corresponds to .9306, not .93. Are we supposed to just get as close as possible?
hello thank you, I have really understood how to get my critical values but the table i have for the z-score is different from yours. The table I have the values only end at 0.4999, is there a difference in the tables?
In other video you said that if std=2, z score is +-2. If we have 95% confidence, that means 2 std from mean so z should Be 2 not 1.96. Can someone explain this?
Yes that’s true it’s actually 1.96. But we just rounded it to 2 for our own convenience. 2 is easier to remember and easier use for calculations especially in exams
