Hey man, quick question for you, I’m just getting started and so far I’ve solely been sending in clothing and apparel, like adidas, Nike etc.. I’ve heard that this is a bad move for the following reason, the high return rate of clothing will look bad on a new seller account and I will end up being banned or suspended. So far I’ve sold 3 units and one of them was in fact returned. (Which makes my return rate 33% 😮) what’s your thoughts? Thanks in advance
@FieldsofProfit
@FieldsofProfit Год назад
I generally think apparel and shoes is a bad place to start bc you need to be super strict and confident with what you buy or you’ll lose money to returns. You don’t have to abandon it entirely but you should also try to find some grocery/beauty leads
@stevent3214
@stevent3214 Год назад
@@FieldsofProfit ok I understand, my roi is really fantastic so I’m ok eating the returns, I’m more just concerned about the suspension/ban issue. What’s your thoughts on that?
@davidpham9353
@davidpham9353 Год назад
@@stevent3214 return rate for shoes is about 15% and clothing is like 5%. 99% of my sales are adidas + nike. Dont forget under amour, much higher ROI than the other due to less sellers. Mostly clothing is okay to resell since they dont do anything bad like shoes being dirty or etc...
@stevent3214
@stevent3214 Год назад
@@davidpham9353 ah ok, so you wouldn’t be concerned about getting suspended due to a high rate of returns?
@davidpham9353
@davidpham9353 Год назад
@@stevent3214 its just the cost of doing business. I am good since that is the industry standard, means 99% of shoes sellers have the same rate as me. You think Amazon will kill them all ? No. Its just a fact. Just like a fact that Walmart has a bunch of terrible return from customers but they still receive them. And Walmart is still 1 of the biggest retail stores in the world making crazy money.

If your doing wholesale then you wouldn’t save on sales taxes since you are using a certificate of resale to avoid taxes anyways right?

i live in a rural area...my mail only runs 3 days a week or i have a 40mile round trip to the post office on a dirt road (eats the profit margin and tires)....so for me just starting fbm.... my shipping times are slow and my shipping cost is high (not ideal).. i do live in a tax free state (MT) so that helps but in my Rual situation... should i just order my stuff and have it shipped to a prep center?? to me that is the best way to get the best shipping times at same or hopefully lower shipping cost

I also live in MT and am thinking about starting a prep center. I live in Billings so incoming and outgoing would be fairly simple. Should we collab?

If a Prep Center sees you moving and selling a lot of products, can’t they track and compete with you?
@davidpham9353
@davidpham9353 Год назад
their main business is doing prep center business, not trying to compete with you. Same thing like why banks don't compete with house flippers when they got so many great deals from foreclosure ? Because their main business is lending money which they are the best. Surely some may copy your successful business but thats just super rare since they focus on what they are the best.

How can you be profitable with prep centers? They all charge 1.00 plus per items received plus other fees and costs. I can't find a small warehouse or someone who will rent a small portion so I'm stuck.

U-Haul offers warehousing rentals. Take a look at their website.
