I have searched and found many things about my family with valid evidence. I have been trying to see about going forth to receive my inheritance. Thanks a lot for the information. I'm going to school for paralegal and I have learned that there is no statue of limitation on inheritance even if there was no probate.

That's interesting. But how would you collect if a probate that has been settled?

A little something about Familysearch: a lot of the images of original records can only be viewed at one of their research libraries. Some of these images used to be available for viewing on their website, but not any more. The availability is very limited too per county and state and year range.

Thanks +weekednmom That's true, many of the videos have been restricted and that's really making pajama genealogy difficult. However, some collections are on found on other sites such as Ancestry or MyHeritage. It's not hopeless to stay home and do genealogy. Which means all the more reason to encourage family history libraries/centers to have more hours.

A caution on the Ancestry.com Indexing of Wills and Probates: The indexing of these records is not robust. They missed many separate papers in the Court clerk volumes in several states. The records are there, but the index entries for many of them are not there. You have to find the probate index and make sure you can find all papers for a person.

Good Point. Indexes should always be a first place to start for a quick win, but if you are not finding it in an index, searching the whole record set should be on your list of things to do.

Devin this is suggestion for you and Andy and whoever else can help out with your channel could you do something about finding tax records in another country

We can try to do tax records in other countries. However, we always suggest going to the FamilySearch Wikipedia for the locations you're researching. Then see what comes up.

@@FamilyHistoryFanatics thank you Devin Newell and Andy yes I am hot on the pursuit of one of my ancestors in Ireland I found records my family didn't know existed until yesterday my family heard rumors of a second marriage but didn't believe it happened I've just proven with genealogical proof that it did Devin Noel Lee that's why I was asking so many different questions about researching in Ireland thank you for all your suggestions Griffith's evaluations is the most trickiest thing to read it's something I'm suggesting maybe you guys could do a mini show on Griffith's evaluation

Hmmmm, I'm going to look for my great great grandfather's will. There is reason to believe my great grandmother's (body heirs) were cheated out of her inheritance.

I'd love to hear back on what you find. Not sure about the cheating out of an inheritance, but that sounds interesting.

Well it looks like that county is not listed. It usually isn't; it's not much of a population center. This was an old plantation family. I feel sort of like you did when some of the records turned up missing.

I was wondering how your research went. That's so disappointing to have nothing turning up. Seems like the dead ancestors like to keep toying with my emotions.

Is this only for American’s?

This particular video, yes. Check the FamilySearch Wiki to see if your country has information about probate records www.familysearch.org/en/wiki/Main_Page

@@FamilyHistoryFanatics thank you I will try this. Apparently my ancestor left something to me, I was suppose to receive as a child but my family hid it from me. I've been searching like a person with no head for a very long time. I hope I can make some sort of discovery.
