Probate records are more than wills! These records are crucial in family history research when working to discover your ancestry pre-1850. Instagram: ancestrybyaimee Facebook: @aimeecross2
Genealogy research, particularly in the 1700’s and early 1800’s, is more difficult. We rely on different record types and one of the best is wills and other probate records. Many feel if there is no will, no luck; but don’t miss important ancestor hints when you can’t find a will - there can be lots of other records.
Here we talk about what other records may be included in a probate and how to conduct a probate court records search with FamilySearch (FREE) and Ancestry ($) being my favorites!
