How To Find Your Passion 

Shaina, thanks so much for posting your advice. I just found you today and I have to say that your videos are so helpful. I've been feeling stuck, afraid, lost, and confused for so long. I reached that point of hopelessness so long ago and I literally came to the conclusion that I have no passion and no purpose. It hit me today that there have been people that came across my path, people I trusted, who told me what I could and could not do with my life. Believing what those people have said to me has, in my opinion, been the root of my hopelessness. Things have been distorted for so long and I never realized that the problem was those words that were spoken to me that broke down my confidence and belief in myself. Your words are so empowering and I think it's wonderful that you chose to build people up and make them feel capable rather than inadequate. More adults need to raise up our generation this way, too many are choosing to discourage young people from chasing after their dreams. I spoke to a guidance counselor near the end of my time in college, she asked me what I wanted to do when I graduated. I told her about my desire to be a life coach and she said that no one would hire me because I'm fresh out of college. She encouraged me to pursue a "realistic goal" and began to make suggestions that were not of any interest to me. I don't blame her for my chosen path but I do this this happens far too often. We aren't being taught to believe or trust in our gut or our innate desires and talents.

I used to think working corporate was the way to success but found myself unhappy with it, so I quit my job and have been taking some time to rediscover what my true passions are, besides what I majored in college. I really loved this video and the last two on this topic ('Life in your 20's' and 'Where's my passion?') I am 25 (almost 26) and when I was 22 years old I realised the path I was on with my studies was not right for me, and I left my PhD in science after about 4 months. I have been pretty lost and stagnant (a word that I feel really encapsulates my mindset) since, because I always assumed that what I was doing at that time was the direction my life was going in. Your videos really hit on how I've been feeling all this time and further reassured me that I will find what (or the many things) I am truly passionate about, I just have to give myself time to explore and try things out, rather than being so stuck in my head and mired in the stress of not having the answer right now, and not really knowing what to do. I hope that this is the beginning of a new, more open and exciting period in my life. Thank you for your videos :). Good luck on your journey as well!
