"No, you didn't." 😂 This is me talking to myself while trying on boots to see if I found the perfect pair. You are 100% correct. That's why trying on tons of pairs before buying is key. This is why I don't like ordering online for certain items. 😢
I'm 65 and when I was younger I wore boots like this. High heels were everything. They were beautiful. You know what's not beautiful? Bunions. Something for you high heel wearers to look forward to! :-D
I have the opposite problem, I often find knee high boots are too wide on my legs. It's best when there is some way to adjust them to accommodate different body types.
Seriously.. it’s really difficult for me to find boots because of this. I have really muscular calves and it’s so hard to find cute boots that I can actually get zipped up. I’ve given up at this point😭
@@PiXie232 I just go laces now, luckily it goes with my style but in the store the laces are usually done up to like an inch wide and when I’m finally to strap them to my curvy power sources they’re like 3-4 inches apart.
My pet peeve is never being able to find a damn pair of boots that fits! I have flat narrow feet, small ankles, and slim calves/legs. My legs are relatively long in terms of my body proportion too. Other pet peeve is when I FINALLY find a pair that fits, but they’re either a) incredibly uncomfortable, or b) sold out in my size. I can’t find a pair of booties that doesn’t look completely ridiculous, to save my life either. I’ve only found one pair of booties that were perfect on me, except they were just a 1/2 size too small. They were from Chanel and were on sale, so I got super excited thinking the Saks associate would surely be able to find me a pair in my size from a different store. Nope…not a single other pair available at any Chanel store or Chanel retailer. I still have dreams about those shoes 😭. Aquatalia made my riding boots I bought almost 10 years ago, and I’m kicking myself for not buying a second pair of them in black, and for not getting a pair in the brown color! They are so comfortable, fit perfectly, are amazing quality, and have the perfect placement as far as hardware and proportion goes! Their new stuff though…ugly and doesn’t fit even remotely as flawlessly. My heart will break the day these boots give out.
Thank u so much for this Since I have shorter legs I’ve always been told to never wear boots because it shortens me which is true but I’m hopeful that there’s one boot out there that would flatter me
Same!!! I’m short so I’ve been told same as you but I see so many girls looking so good wearing boots !!! Let me know if you find any good ones for short queens 😅
Very insightful and actually useful advice. Boots for me are the hardest shoe to shop. Haven’t worn them in years because I can’t find the right one. Nothing fits correctly.
Hey, can u do wash guides as well. Like my alpaca sweater looks so funny after wash. N I ruined like 3 of them :( one from cos, another h&m cos one is more gr8. But please do wash guides as well
Basically if your thighs are longer than your calves, buy boots that go above your knee. If your calves are longer, then buy boots that stop below the knee this will make your legs look longer
I just like to get some boots any boots that can over my calves. It's like the fashion industry still didn't get the memo that bodies are different. Some people have more muscular calves
I’ve been following you for a bit and so happy for your growth! And another Toronto girlie at that ❤ I rmb seeing a vid on the new Aritzia wool coats but can’t seem to find it here - remind me your thoughts again?
The problem I have a boots is that whether they’re low or up the calf they look cute! I can never find circumference that matches my legs because my legs are so skinny. And then they just flop around on my calves and stick out and make bumps on my skirts.
My perfect boot has no heel, but it's so hard to find cute styles that won't hurt my achy body. They all either are menswear style or look like medical equipment.
However, I have very long thighs and very thick calves. Even when I weigh barely 100 lbs at 5'4", I need x-wide boot circumference, and getting taller shafts with that option is almost impossible.
I love boots but in the last years I basically gave up on them... my calves got thicker... nothing zips... I tried once asking a shoemaker to make them wider but he only made the top wider.... but where I needed more breathing room was on the back of my lower legs, that tummy that stops the zipper going up... Le sigh...
I have ridiculously muscular calves. I am 4'10 and my right calf is 18" in circumference. Finding boots that will actually fit me is a nightmare, especially as I don't want just neutrals and particularly not black or brown.
oh my god wait is this why i have always hated how i look with these taller boots?!! i have a really long torso, proportionally, to my legs and i always feel like boots in this height range make me look absolutely ridiculous, vs boots that are between these & ankle boots (closer to ankle tho) are the tallest i can wear. i guess it makes sense, the same way i look much better in high waisted stuff too...
I tried on a pair of boots today and although they were nice, they looked a bit too much like wellies/waders on me. The shaft was too high and wide on my calfs so they looked too big on my legs whilst they fitted my feet ok. I hate it when my boots wear out because it always feels like a big mission to find another pair that are comfortable and look good!
Please I am searching high and low for the long boot with shorter shaft. My calfs are shorter then my tights. I can’t get over the knee boots cause my tights are curvy. So it’s impossible for me to find a good quality boot that will elongate my legs. 😢
When people say that they’re probably referring to the perfect boot for them… why would you go looking for a boot that would look good on the entire world
A little confused... How can thighs be shorter than calves? Arent legs proportionate? the thigh bone is always a bit longer than the calves, its just anatomy. The femur is the longest bone in the body!
It's physically very close but there's a magical effect that happens in the difference between that inch or two. It's hard to see in a video that's edited for time but you might see it in the mirror
