I bought a panelled camisol from a vintage shop (Gypsy Caravan Found Objects on west Eglinton) and i almost cried the way they it laid on my body and hugged it in all the right ways. I believe it was from the late 70 or early 80s. I didn't know clothes could fit your body that well. I feel so well dressed in it and other 60s -80s clothes. Never been happier.
this is (genuinely) helpful to those looking to enhance certain shapes, but it’s important to remember that what looks good on you is what you’re confident in:) if those shortening socks make you happy, you will look good in them!! go for it!! on the other hand, this does give some really good insight into shapes and how they influence our look🤔
I’m 4’11 and curvy. Longer shaft boots make me look taller overalls but they just make my thighs look fatter and short so nothing works 🥲 *cries in ugly*
I like scents, but I don’t like phthalates or other endocrine disruptors (sometimes even certain essential oils can be endocrine disrupting). So I’m trying to find something that fits that bill.
I really cannot believe people buy multiple new shoes for each season EVERY year. I still wear my Ugg slippers from 5 years ago every fall / winter. I’m not one to scream overconsumption, but man Tik Tok and IG has created an even bigger mass of over consumers.
Rounded and square toes are 1,000% better for your feet and work well with small, short women too. I developed nerve damage in my foot from wearing overly squished "stylish" shoes. Never again, make sure you have good shoes that don't squish your feet. Pain & discomfort = NOT classy.
I remember a few years ago lot of people were really upset with Garage for their overly sexualized branding when the main demographic that buys their clothing is young girls. They said some BS about trying to reach a different demographic, but yeah. 😐
You really cant buy the body nor vibe, they know their target audience and the clothes match the rebrand for it. Sucks they could have dug into their vibes from years ago instead
Especially bc we work fuxking hard for our money! Working class shouldn’t be giving away are hard earned $$ to Mr LVMH. He can go get that from the millionaires. Small business with quality leather goods, that’s where it’s at
When I was 8 or 9 (20+ years ago) I would always beg my mom to let me shop at Garage. It was much more alternative back then. Like preppy-punk/Avril Lavigne vibes. When I turned 13, I was finally allowed to shop there, and even after those 5 years, it became much more preppy. Nowadays, they sell clothes to appeal to teens and the latest trends yet use 30 year old models who set unhealthy beauty standards by being pumped with silicone. Wild.
Yes please!! I’m “petite” but curvy. And I have soft round features (ie shoulders). So it’s very to find resources on how to dress and look like an adult women.
I have the opposite problem which makes it difficult.. my calves are shorter than my thighs. So I can’t wear a lot of tall boots.. has to have specific silhouettes
