The harder/stiffer the leather the longer the break in time. Docs are nutorious for being painful. I have scars after fleshwounds on each heel. The right size and prevention is key. Always put on those big heel bandaids, and wear thick socks, or 2-3 layers of thin socks to break them in. And wear them around the house/flat a few hours a day if you can’t commit to wearing them 24/7. I’ve had many, and I recently vowed to never buy another pair because they hurt to much to break in lol, but I love them and the estetic. I also always go for the patent leather ones, which is the hardest leather to break in, as they are the perfect rain, fall and winter boot.

Really… I did not know the patent leather is the hardest to break in… the soft leather are so much easier to break in

Thanks. I can only say I have the MIE 1460's, and my Brannock size is 11d (male); my doc's in 11d fit great. My small toes on each foot do lightly brush the side of the shoe where the toe starts to taper in, but the MIE's have a smaller last than the Asian versions.

I don’t live near a Dr.Martens store 🥺 I’m a half size and I sized up for my first pair and my feet slide forward in them. At first they fit decently nice. So my second pair I decided to size down. Praying they fit by time they arrive 😫 I got the audrick 20-Eye leather knee high platform boots

@@Fodaydontplay they arrived and I think they fit. Toes don’t touch the front at all but they feel wayyyy more stiff than my previous pair. I think I made the right choice though. Your videos were helpful!

I buy 2 sizes up to fit an additional cushion insole inside for added comfort and I like them on the slightly looser side for comfort and to keep my feet cooler.

Im a UK 7 in normal chuck taylors, but I wear some other shoes in 6.5, should I get a 6 or a 7. I would prefer to have a better fit even If it means a longer break in period but I'm not sure how much space the leather freeing up would give. any advice?

Umm.. I’ll probably say a 6 if you don’t have wide feet. Also you can measure your feet and compare it to the size chart on the dr martens website

So how much room did the store employee recommend for where the toes should be? A half inch away from the front of the boot?

She did not say exactly how much.. for the most part she said your feet should not touch the from of the boots.. I think half an inch should be fine

I got Dr Martens 1461 Nappa as a present a few days ago. They are EU42 and they feel narrow on my left foot. When I tried EU43 the left foot is OK but I feel a bit of play on my right. I feel ideal would be 42,5. Is there a chance that the smaller one will become comfortable or should I go for 43...?

I’ll advise you to try the 42 first to see how it fits.. then you can decide on the two. Just make sure your toes have some wiggle room when you try them on.

@@Fodaydontplay Oh I tried both numbers, I have 42 here with me. 43 feels a bit bigger around heel and that's what worries. 42 are tight around toes (to be precise small toe) but enough room lengthwise... I just can't predict will they become more roomy over time...

Hey! Still bit lost on what size should i get... I usually do US10 for Nike & Converse, can u pls advise what size should i get for the 1461? And how exactly do i know whether if i have wide feet🥲

Hello! I wear a size 9 in Nike but an 8 in converse. You’ll know if you have wide feet you’ll struggle with normal shoes especially around the toe area. I’ll say try on a 10 and see how it fits. The best thing you can do is go to a store and try it out. If you can’t do that then measure your feet and around it up to the nearest size on the dr martens size chart on their website

Which pair of docs are you planning on getting? If you don’t have wide feet then get a 7. If you do then get a 8.

the combs can be a little difficult when it comes to the combs.. i recommend going in the store and trying them on.

What size did you end up going for? I'm in between as well and tried both sizes and one is very long while the other is too tight width wise. Sucks they don't make half sizes.

Hello, So I wanna have 1460 Pascal Nappa Leather, In converse, I'm size 45 (I adjusted it because of my wide feet), What size do u think I have to get? Thankyouu for the help btw

I am guessing you have no way to try them on. I'll say maybe a size 46 since you have wide feet. The Nappa leather is easy to break in and it will expand once you break in them. Can you please help me. I’ve never had a a pair before but I have been really considering buying my first pair. I usually wear a US size 6.5 or a 7 I’ve heard that they run slightly big so idk if I should go with a size 6 or a size 7. I’ve been thinking about buying a size 6 because I feel like a size 7 would be a bit too loose. There are no local stores in my area and the other stores that do sell them didn’t have them in those sizes so I couldn’t try them on

Well, ill say to measure your feet and then go on the Dr Martens size chart and compare it to that. i think that a 6 will be go for you but just check to make sure.

I usually wear a US size 7. For boots (like 1460 Pascal Wanama), I go for US7/UK5. But for others like a Polley Mary Jane and Oxfords, I go for a US6/UK4 since there's so much wiggle room for US7 on the heel part. I have very wide feet, but the US7 is just too loose.

It depends.. if you have a wide feet then maybe a 7. You are maybe a size 5 or 6. What you can do is measure your feet and compare it to the dr martens size chart on the dr martens website

They are unisex, and maybe in the US less men wears docs, but here in Europe I see everyone walk around in them regardless of gender identity, my self included, at least here in Norway… it’s a cult and fan favorite after all, and an iconiq boot.
