This video tutorial from The Potomac Bead Company answers a question posed by one of our subscribers. She wanted to know how to take a 3 strand necklace down to a single strand at the end, so that an extension chain could be added. When making jewelry (especially bracelets) for other people, sometimes it needs to be adjustable so that it can fit varying sizes of wrists. Well this tutorial will show you how to do that in two different ways. Enjoy!

This instruction video leaves nothing to be desired except more how to videos. I have watched a lot of instruction videos and this one comes very close to perfect for me .She doesn't waist time ,has all her needed parts out in the open for everyone to see. The only thing that I see might make it any better is having small signs beside each piece labeling its name and exactly what it is supposed to look like .Thanks so much for the trouble and effort . I hope this company pays you well for selling their products,you do a fantastic job.

Thank you that helped me a LOT! But I have a 3 layered necklace that I'm wanting to finish all the strands with 3 different size chains they are three sizes of curb chain, but my project has come to a halt because I can't find a closure that works other than a triangle earring connector. But I want something tthat will give it a more refined finished look. The triangle looks to bulky and just doesn't achieve the look I'm trying to finish with. PLEASE can you Help me? I've watched oodles of 3 layered necklace tutorials but just can't find one the they all finish at the top together. I'm not a beginner, but more like just the beginning of an intermediate student...self taught by watching all of you Great youtube Teachers!!! Thank you so much for your dedication and free education tutorials. :-)

After crimping the wires, sometimes I find that the wires can slip out of the crimped bead when wearing the bracelet. How do you prevent this?
@Potomacbeadco
@Potomacbeadco 5 лет назад
First of all, make sure the wires are parallel inside the crimp. If they are crossed over each other, they can pull out. Secondly, crimp them very firmly! It's a good idea to give it a tug BEFORE you cut off the excess beading wire, because if it does come apart, you want the chance to fix it.

The tutorials you referred me to do not explain how to professionally complete a necklace with a MULTISTRAND clasp. I already know how to bring three strands of beads together to form into a single stand clasp. What you don't show is how to complete a necklace using a multi strand clasp.
@Potomacbeadco
@Potomacbeadco 8 лет назад
Betty Bho There are dozens of different types of clasps, so maybe you are referring to something else? Most multi strand clasps have multiple loops to which you can crimp your strand. Other methods would be bringing strands together in an endcone.
