The ninja has spoken!! I have learnt a lot from you and from these videos A lot of watching you guys have a good time and also slowing down, here in North America so many guys start screaming as soon as the concrete shows up. Keep up the good work!
Nathan McIntosh thanks buddy for the kind words . The way I look at it is them guys that starts screaming straight away is because they are not very confident in what they are doing I have had a lot of different bosses and I have learnt that the one that know what they’re doing never scream at the workers unless they fuck up properly 👍👊 .
I do concrete in the usa from a state called Utah. It's crazy how every concrete guy has there own way of pouring, and finishing. I love it! I'm definitely going to start calling the power trowel, a helicopter now haha. Keep it up guys! We are a dieing breed, no one wants to do hard work anymore.
Landyn Burris thanks bro and you are definitely right no one likes doing our job any more that’s why I’m trying to make it is fun and enjoyable as I can be . Hopefully the young generation will say that it’s not that bad
I been doing concrete for 24 years, and it really isnt hard.especially when you have good help...now roofing is hard to me and ill never do it again.lol
Hello It seems easy, but I know it's not. I got bootcamp training in December. Once I pass I join local 300, I've been wanting to join this industry since age 18 now I'm 22 hopefully Im not late
Well done. A very good resource for anyone looking at up- skilling or looking to learning further tips and skills in the recognised trade of concreting. Keep the terrific learning resources coming :)
Like all your videos ...MUY BUENOS , We follow all you videos from Mallorca Spain...Keep up your excellent work ...And your sense off good aussie humor.
Our power screed broke down and we had to hand screed. We got er done in time but you make a hard job look easy keep up the great vids. Watching from Ontario Canada
Matt Burnard thanks brother it is a hard job when you do not do it all the time that’s why it’s easy for me because I do it every day 😜💪👊🇦🇺 . Hello from Australia 🇦🇺
Beautiful job you guys are amazing..I did my drive at home it is such hard work to get a good finish concrete is so unpredictable ..mastering a trowel takes a lot of practice.. years.. you have to do the job to appreciate the skills used in this video..thankyou for passing your knowledge, skills and expertise on to others I'm learning so much from videos you guys make...big thumbs-up great video..
Can you please do video on using a trowel machine eg, steering, how many passes. How to finish a house slab and burning? Anything else you want to throw in feel free! Haha love your work blokes!
Back in the stone age when dinosaurs walked the earth was when I did my first bit of floor screeding. Luckily there were cement trucks rather than having to mix it all by hand but due to the floor area being miles from the truck the mortar had to be brought in by wheelbarrow which was then ruled and tamped into place with long lengths of 4x2. We never had a copter or the spinning roller thingy but we did have an aerator, these were tools that hadn't been invented yet and after the days screeding my back was an agony of pain so many thanks to the building gods for designing and building these fantastic little helpers it's also nice when you have the good weather like you guys seem to get because here in the UK it's mostly either raining, cloudy and overcast, snow or hale, everything but sunshine really. So it's nice to see a demonstration of how to properly lay down a floor, well done and the best of luck for the future.
Peter Gambier thanks for the kind words mate I really appreciate it . it was definitely a lot harder in the old days . The tools we use today really do help a lot makes life a lot easier . And hello from Australia 👊 . Many more videos coming in the next couple weeks stay tuned .
My pleasure. I actually work using lime putty mortars and plasters which I slake and make myself but it's so specialist that as you can imagine work is hard to find. I also have a small museum of old mortars and plasters as well as 3 inch thick chunks of lime flooring and one treasured piece of haired lime mortar on a straw background that has an 1846 newspaper stuck to it. One thing that surprised me was learning that cement and lime will continue to harden up to 6 years later. I was reading about an old Roman cement harbour still in one piece where the mortar is harder today than it was when it was first built a few thousand years ago. This is because of small plate like structures that form in the mortar when sea water comes into contact with the pumis or lava in the mix called 'Phillipsite' which bends rather than shatters when it's stressed. Anyway, enough learning for one day, and all the best from the South of England.
Peter Gambier thanks mate that’s some awesome information I love my history and all I know is that concrete takes 25 years too hard but it sounds like the Romans had something even better . Thanks for the information mate welcome to tell your stories any time 👊 . Have an awesome weekend from Australia to youin England 🙏
How does it work. Like a floor polishing machine? If you lift the handle it goes to the left and if you lower the handle it goes to the right or something similar.
Jose Duran in Australia a lot of people wear them around the job site I don’t as you see my videos . But best thing is then put your feet near the chopper 😂😉
It’s funny, I’ve been doing concrete for almost 20 years and I always like watching your videos. If I have time I’m going to try to make some videos to show how we do it in Oregon. I do like how you guys screed and I’ve bought an 8ft, 6ft, and a 4ft like yours. I can’t find anything bigger. I would like get a 10ft do you have any idea where to buy online. And send you some videos and or pictures. Keep up the good work.
Tyler Puhl Thanks bro 👊 I would love to see your videos when you make some that would be awesome . That’s cool that you brought some screeds i’m sure it’s gonna help you a lot . I’m not sure where to buy 10 ft . . I’m sure if you keep looking you will find one . And if you can’t I will buy one here and send it to you for price 🤔 👊
They have a place in Louisville Kentucky called white cap or hd supply co to where you can order a 10ft or 12ft one i have both myself or a company called marshalltown is the company who makes them
These vids are great... Mate! I laid 40sqm charcoal driveway last weekend based on your videos. Only did a brush finish. I will be laying 50sqm shed slab soon. At what point do i use the helicopter? How much should my foot sink into the mud... 2mm or 10mm or 15 mm?
Peter S Hi mate thanks for the kind words . As long as you screed it flat 2mm and just make sure your blinds are right . And very low revving at the start . There is a lot of videos on my channel of me talking about helicopter . I’m sure if you want most of them you’ll get a good idea . Good luck bro 👊
Awesome... I will watch more. These are the best concreting vids by far. Hits the bunnings dyi vids for six. They could learn from ya. What is the max limit my foot should sink, when helicoptering?
Bishop Concrete Services LLC Thanks buddy I work for Simon one day a week . I work for 15 different concrete crew. And don’t worry I do my fair share of work 😜
o I know you work we all do. I got one guy working for me on my jobs. I help 3 concrete companies. my old boss, my old supervisor. and a old co worker. they all call me for help.
thats excellent job mate.just wondering why is your ffl higher then next doors?also when you fill up the all beams especially hot days you have cold joints i know u vibrated well thats your way but technically u should not do that
Bulent Yucel do you have laser level for eyes?? Pretty sure you don’t base you ffl on the neighbourhoods ffl. Last time I checked the world wasn’t flat. And cold joints?? They aren’t doing the beams one day and the rest of the slab the next. The whole slab was in within 2 hours No cold joins there bud. Stick to accounting buddy
Where you get your screed at?? I like that 1 man and with a handle on top I would like o have one of them cause most time you have another guy who don’t know what he is doing mess things up when they are screeding with you.
NONY im in ireland and we call it an aussie screed 😂 they are a great job.. i just made one from an old aluminium screed and mig welded on a handle they are the shit ✌
That dude is seriously wearing flip flops on the trowel machine HAHA YES! You Ozzies are great. Anyone do that here in the US and theyd be kicked off the jobsite...but I bet the flip flops dont put any deep tread marks which is why Im guessing hes wearing them...or hes just a straight up bad ass that dont give a flying f*ck Also "stick trowel"...we call those walking trowels here (or just a "walker") ..Cool to see guys doing the same thing Ive done my whole life with different lingo...and the flip flops with short shorts is just golden
When you machine it reall good and water swipe it. Had to due to worn blades and tilt cable snapped. Can't complain for a brand new second hand for 1200bucks. We used it a couple times, otherwise all in all goes good.
Bora Bora are usually work on around $110 a square metre maybe a little bit more depends on where the house is what is the ground like . Where do you live
Sam Lopez I think you’re referring to the vibe! It ensures that concrete fills every nook and cranny and so you avoid honeycomb on your edges once the boards have been stripped
KING DONG you have to set it all out so the inspector can expect that and then it gets past and then you can pour it . You always have to set the steel up first on a house . A little tiny job you could put the mash in later not something like this . 👍
If you have a lot of steel and footings you have to vibrate the air out or you get honeycombing down underneath--big voids that make the structure useless. Google "honeycombing in concrete" and you'll see what I mean.
