In this video I'm going to show you how to use a power trowel to burn 800 sqft to a mirror finish. So sit back and enjoy as we lay down another quality job. Thanks for watching and dont forget to subscribe!!!
I just had mine poured and the crew didn’t pour high enough (about an inch under the forms). Now I have high and low spots. Hard to find quality work sometimes. Nice job.
@@thatjuanshow4485 try Australian master finish screeds aprox 2inch X 2inch aluminium tube and have a round handle for 1 Man to hang on to , you won't even need to bullfloat , after a bit of practice ,and will be flat .
Specs say burnt trowel mirror finish for a reason ,but dam walk on one with muddy feet and down you go . My buddy and I did automotive in a garage like that and forever cussed when we finally did build our own it was 2 twice over with a trowel and saw cut joints , Much nicer floor to work on and is still beautiful 20 yrs later.
I feel the same way about a mirror finish way to slippery when wet. Since I've been working over here on the island most people want a two trowel pass so it has a little traction. And your right they look good and last just as long
I have two honest questions: 1. Why do you like your mud so wet? I get it is a garage floor, so you don't have strength concerns, but I bet the wait time for water bleed must be lengthy. 2. Why don't you use a float pan first? Personal preference? The finish came out beautiful, by the way, you should be proud!
Good questions the mud was wet because my friend I was helping added to much water anticipating a hot summer day. The bleed water was insane had to pull it off with the bullfloat. And luckily it was a hot day so we weren't out there forever. For the pan float that's not something people do in Washington state. I've use them on commercial slabs but never residential. Thanks for watching and commenting always appreciated. Have a great weekend!
Its time to run the bullfloat after you screed the concrete but not to long because itll start to crust a little make it harder to slick up. If its really wet you may want to wait a little. Hopefully this helps let me know how it goes or if you need any more information glad to help
Good idea Ive always seen them used on video's from around the world just never by the guys or in the areas Ive worked. I should add one to the tool collection never know may become my go too. Thanks for your input appreciated anytime.
The purpose of burning / polishing a concrete slab is to make the surface more dense and a smoother finish. For me its always been preference I think it turns out better and looks better. That's why all big box stores choose this for a finish
No not by eye there is snap line on the foundation wall and for the center of slab we use grade pins and create a soft shoulder which is the same grade as the chalk line
@@AlMai222 I concreted for over 30 years ,retired at 50 self funded so I think I may know how to Crete ,we hardly ever kneeboarding we did 25 years ago ,we walk along edges along walls in thongs evenly distribute your weight and follow up with trowel machine to get footprints straight out ,small slabs we stick trowel up to 5 times then broom or finish however ,use stick trowel on angle and early up against walls if screeded flat ,we do that a bit different to u blokes ,one man screeding it’s very accurate,I am not knocking your way but ours is tidier a bit slower than the way u blokes do things .
@@AlMai222 I retired now ,thongs are worn all the time except large jobs where we would just where steel cap boots or just gumboots U have to get on slab when firm (ready to trowel machine ) concrete can't be to wet or U will sink and leave deep prints ,it is all about getting on concrete at right time ,have U watched concrete ninja ,U will notice they where thongs a lot when finishing I no it isn't very safe but it is how we do it ,with thongs U don't leave big elephant prints all over the place ,I have never seen those skate boards that U use if boards are needed we just find some ply lying around job site because we don't use them ,we all do things differently try it with out boards U willsave your knees wearing out .
Great-looking concrete unless you're grinding a floor for stained or epoxy and you got a grind that son-of-a-gun thank goodness we have cap Buster's nothing worse than a burnt concrete floor 😂 👍👍
Yah probably makes the surface way to dense. I've personally liked to finish a slab right before the burn. ut everyone in Washington wanted them burnt. Here on the island we leave more of a sweat finish for the traction
I don't know why we call it mud. It's just what everyone over here in Washington state call it. I guess we're still a bunch of kids who still love playing in the mud!
@@thatjuanshow4485 Outside yes , but inside garage not good .If you do another stuff like epoxy resin or something else looks agly. For me sow cuut micro beast .
