Yeah he truly is. He has finished multiple times in the top 5 in terms of finishing % at the basket overall in the NBA counting Centers, Power Forwards and Small Forwards. At 6'3 that's insane finishing ability
@Cali Ssss everything is a bit stretch.. everything for a guard? yes? everything for basic 5 stat, like rebound block or maybe steal.. ehh haha but i get it
can name 3 point guards right now that finish better than carmelo anthony kyrie stephen tony parker and russell westbrook just for an extra. carmelo is 6’8” or 6’9”? so yeah definitely dont need to be tall
@@MrWeenuk21 i dont know why would even carmello who mainly iso and jumpshot in the list even tho theres a lot more shorter GUARD who drive through basket.. like J.wall or kyle lowry
MrWeenuk21 your wrong actually the taller you are more able to block, rebound and finish more easier then what these poor point guards have to go through when driving in
Bro I play with 6’3-6’7 people at my local 24 here. Where I’m at, it’s a low income area so we got diversity where we play. Black dudes, hispanic dudes, asian dudes, middle eastern dudes, and white dudes, etc. We got our own play styles but I’m asian so I’m only like 5’10, but I can dribble and shoot/finish. To finish over big men is pure mentality, if you’re perceived as a true threat, you will have a better chance at getting them off of you from hesitation moves or your own moves. I’ve gotten blocked handful of times but it teaches you how to avoid them. When I drive now, I use body contact in the air first to give me more space to release it over their contest. Learn from your play style and your OWN personal experience too. Only you can make yourself better.
A good drill is to just drive to the basket and LET your teammates hack you, grab you and smack you. Continuously do this, lift weights and do push ups and you should become much stronger and in one session you might find that you are making a lot more of the layups. This is what I did and now I can get even the hardest and-ones. Sounds crazy but give it a try.
I guess another key is to maintain a neutral spine in mid-air during contact. Lots of time when players without adequate core stability their spines tend to buckle and arch, which makes them easier to lose balance and finish the ball. Players like prime D Rose and D Wade tended to squeeze/curl body in mid-air since the bracing gave them more stability.
This is such a big help i can finish layups but as soon as their is contact i always get blocked or whatever. I'm a beginner but i'll think this sort of shoulder contact push with the extend out of your arm will "push" me in the right direction
So much of this would seem to require a lot of practice and strength. Not everybody has opponents and a decent court where they can do all this and then facilities to work out and get stronger. Basketball on the playground isn't an ideal circumstance for learning the 5v5 game. Hold the ball strongly, close to the body, then away from the bodies when the shot begins. These are somewhat like the general rules on a dribble-drive. But, telling someone to get creative and use spin on the backboard isn't so easily mastered. The best comment was at the end: play slower and smarter than the defenders! That advice is hard to beat.
I literally need this I have no problem getting by my man but whenever I get to the Tim I never take the shot I either pass it out or slow down to draw the defense out instead of going up strong this’ll help a ton
These are great tips. As a big, I am often receiving passes around the basket and then trying to finish through contact but the biggest challenge is that my back is usually to the defense so I don't know exactly where they are which makes it a lot harder for me to initiate the contact. I also don't know if they are going to try and give me a bump versus trying to get around me and swipe at the ball. All of this creates hesitancy and lack of decisive and confident finishing on my part with the result being a lot of missed layups in games where I'm much taller than everyone else on the court. Any tips on finishing under those circumstances?
Cool and helpful video, but like next time, lower the volume of the background beat/music because it was like “overtaking” the speaker’s voice and I couldn’t hear very well
Guy's can you teach me how to gain my teammates trust, its seems my teammates doesn't have any trust in me at scoring at the rim.. I can play, i can do layups, shoot, i have handles and defend most of the time, but every time i get the ball they immediately call for me to pass the ball to them. Why?
When I play ball I always get hit on my arms and hands when I play . I don’t like to call fouls and I finish thru contact but what should I do to make it harder for them to hack me ? Should I extend my arms on my drives or keep the ball close to my body almost like a cradle
Just do twice as many reps on your weak that u did on your strong and star your workout with your non dominant hand. Also be confident to use your left in games even if ur bad at them
“He was despised and rejected- a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care. Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins! But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all. He was oppressed and treated harshly, yet he never said a word. He was led like a lamb to the slaughter. And as a sheep is silent before the shearers, he did not open his mouth. Unjustly condemned, he was led away. No one cared that he died without descendants, that his life was cut short in midstream. But he was struck down for the rebellion of my people. He had done no wrong and had never deceived anyone. But he was buried like a criminal; he was put in a rich man’s grave. But it was the Lord’s good plan to crush him and cause him grief. Yet when his life is made an offering for sin, he will have many descendants. He will enjoy a long life, and the Lord’s good plan will prosper in his hands. When he sees all that is accomplished by his anguish, he will be satisfied. And because of his experience, my righteous servant will make it possible for many to be counted righteous, for he will bear all their sins. I will give him the honors of a victorious soldier, because he exposed himself to death. He was counted among the rebels. He bore the sins of many and interceded for rebels.” Isaiah 53:3-12 NLT "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16 God loves you so much and showed that by sending His Son to die for us so that we may inherit eternal life. We deserve hell but He gave us heaven through faith in Jesus. He took the punishment we deserved and by putting our faith in Him we can be saved.
