Hello folks!
This week we come at you from the shallow waters and in a small 12' boat, as we gear up with bobbers and some live minnows to fish for huge crappies!
Antonio, Claudio, and I consistently catch huge slab crappie after slab crappie.
We share with you a few tips on how our fishing lines we set up for this shallow water crappie fishing.
Until next time, good fishin'!
Ivo

Glad you are enjoying our videos and the key is to use a bobber which has a narrow profile - stay away form the old style round bobbers. Narrow profile bobbers are best and smaller are better, although your large one will still work :)

Glad you are enjoying our videos - when it comes to crappie, be sure to fish suspended and fish around cover, such as weeds, docks, timber, stumps etc... The Crappie like to feed "up" so your bait can not be below them :) Good luck - hope you start catching carppies as well, to go along with the bass and sunfish!

Hi Nate - great to hear from you and glad you are enjoying our videos :) With the minnow presentation, the important thing is to rig them up so they stay lively as long as possible - so the method you are using is a good one :)

Hi David - fish the white jig suspended and keep it moving. If you rig it 3 feet under a bobber, you can cast out, let it settle and then pull the bobber a foot toward you so that the jig swings towards you. Once the jig settles, pull a foot toward you again, and continue with this process - good luck!

Glad you are enjoying our videos and I also have a lot of fun when fishing with Antonio :) An other good bait to use for crappies besides minnows or cut bait is to use small artificial tube jigs (1 1/2 inch) give them a try and good luck to you :)

Glad you enjoyed the crappie video and we did some research and found out that you do in fact have black crappies in the clinton river. Look for any areas in the river that have any kind of timber, poles, docks etc as the crappie will suspend in those areas. Good luck - hope you catch plenty!

Glad you enjoyed the video. you can launch your boat at the boat ramp in Chippawa, located at the corner of Lyons creek road and Sodom road. This is the Welland river but just a short distance away is where Lyons creek joins the river. If you take a satellite view on Google maps you will easily see this. You can go up the creek and fish anywhere around the smaller road bridges and you will do well :)

Crappie fishing is great in the spring in MN and high water levels are good and in the spring, the crappie will seek out warm water, so sunny days are best :)

As we are not from the area, the best thing to do is to visit a local tackle shop. They can answer all or your questions & you won't be wasting time trying to find out things on your own. In your area, there is also good salt water fishing. Thanks & good luck!

For your best chance to catch crappie, fish for them in early spring. Use a live minnow & a float. Find warmer calm bays with no current. Cast close to shore as they will be looking for nesting areas. Sometimes boat slips are good areas as well. Once you locate fish, you can try to fish for them throughout the summer (near the same spring time area) - look for weed beds, poles or brush which may hold fish. Thanks & good luck!
