This is what is wrong with fishing Might as well play video games. Fishing is about heritage and connection with nature, trial and error. You're perverting every single one of those and it's pathetic.
Is it different than using trail cams to track a buck in hunting versus stalking a deer with a longbow? Everyone can hunt how they choose and everyone can fish how they choose.
Thanks for the video. I just cant figure out why my brain wont process sonar imaging, when you say crystal clear I see 90's tv channel 1 static with a brief glimpse of a nipple. Does it get easier over time? I have been using side imaging for a year now and still have only understood what I was looking at once when a suspended sturgeon wandered by.
Thanks, just ordered mine after watching some of these types of vids that show real world images vs. the marketing vids. My step-dad is in his 90s now and I'm trying like hell to get him on fish now that he can't fish streams.
"Come back in a pocket and get jet skis, gotta love it" story of my summers fishing 🤣 Thank you very much for all the informative videos! I watched many videos before buying my livescope and I feel yours helped me the most as far as honest feedback
Welcome to Smith Mtn Lake... home of all the worlds dumbest "joy riders"😡😡 Great video though... im using Livescope for the 1rst time this year and its definitely a new tool that is hard to master.
John, thanks for keeping it on a simple level! People tend to take it way too far in my opinion, especially for beginners. One question for you concerning the transducer mounting. I fish rough big water so my trolling motor is constantly moving, would this not make my any fish appear and disappear constantly since the transducer would be moving with the motor? It seems like it would be hard to hold on an image, your thoughts Sir?
Love this garmin I’m using it on my jet ski perfect not too big not too small can read the letters read the depth is most important for me on a JetSki.
John, fantastic vid, i appreciate it. Currently trying to plan for the future, budget wise, and taking that into consideration before setting my boat up with electronics. I have a 99 fisher freedom 2000, so its like a bass boat aluminum haul, but pontoon interior, with the front deck and fishing chairs. I think i ultimately want a livescope on the bow, and a main screen for captains chair. I think I want them to network, but not sure if that really matters? I noticed you have all three main brands, do they all communicate with each other? For starters, I am looking at just purchasing a captain chair mount, but ultimately want the bow and livescope. Any tips would be appreciated.
@@JohnCrews a representative from Lowrance has helped me some but he recommends automatic mode is excellent. He said "we design it for most users that way ". I have been operating mine that way mainly because I don't know any better. 👍😎
Thats awesome, I just setup this same kinda deal, on my first outing I had trouble seeing my bait unless it was close to the boat, I am gonna try these settings for sure,
I am new to the trolling motor and fish finder things. I did a lot of shore fishing. Now that I have a pontoon set up for fishing, want to get into this. What is meant by the 360? Thank you
I just bought my retirement boat and ordered it with a Garmin Ultra 106sv with the 34 ducer mounted to the Tm, the only settings I've played with is the Gain. My questions are as a Crappie guy what would your preferred settings be? I'm guessing they would be different then a Bass guys? also excuse my ignorance but my Transducer mount has several adjustments and is currently on down view, if I want to use the preferred Perspective view do I just readjust the Transducer? or do I also have to adjust the view on the head unit?
I appreciate the info, new to Livescope and forward facing. Just a casual fisherman and how I wish I had this 30 years ago for tournaments and salmon fishing.
For total control the transducer should not have been mounted on the trolling motor. It must be operated manually depending on what you see on the side image.
I see you have the GLS 10 transducer. Are you using the transducer that comes with your chartpotter/fish finder and LVS32 panoptix transducer? I recently bought Livescope with LVS32 transducer with Garmin Echomap UHD with GT54UHD-TM Tranducer. Do I need to use both transducers or just the livescope transducer?
This was great information John For me just got installed this week Excited to try it out So many videos out there Yours was to the point clean and easy to understand Question What setting of the transducer weee you on? Forward? Down? Perspective? Thanks again
360. I don’t have live, but I use the heck out of 360. It’s awesome to find structure, and I also see schooling fish and cast to them from time to time. Incredible tool, and you don’t have to put too much focus on it while you’re fishing, as appears to be the case with live technology.
Livescope hands down... a real time image will always win. I already know where the structure is after I went over it with side scan, and I can see fish orientation in real time on livescope.
@@JohnCrews I wouldn't really call what you're doing fishing. I don't need it to catch fish. Why don't we just drain the lake and let you run out there and throw the fish in a cooler? Anyone who has to spend this much on electronics to catch fish needs a reboot. My Pops would roll over in his grave if he could see some of this crazy stuff.
