Absolutely brilliant, I've driven land rover for over 40 years, mostly in the forces, 27 years, I've been ill for some time recovering from a partial foot amputation and started watching your vids, really helped me converless, as so much I've just purchased a 110 TD5 County and am going to make it my hobbie, thank you very much I'm really enjoying your vids. I actually enjoy them more than actual TV . Once again thanks. Monty ex royal Marines.
These guys are creating a vehicle which is very non-standard. It looks great in the car park at the LRO show but you wouldn't take it to the Sahara. Also this type of kit is very expensive. Without wishing to be a wet blanket, this vehicle is illegal in the UK because the tyres stick our beyond the bodywork and the super wide tyres reduce the life of the wheel bearings and the axle itself. My suggestion, if you are starting out on a renovation / rebuild for the first time, is to decide what type of vehicle you really want and to plan around that. Don't get seduced into to bolting on expensive accessories just because everyone else does it. Your starting point should be to deal with the chassis and any corrosion first - not sexy but very necessary. Best of luck with the rebuild and why not make a video for YT?
I wish they offered adult summer camps for LR repair/upgrades, haha. Would love to dive in and learn more through hands on experience with LRs. Always scared touch mine. Once I get started the fear goes away, but getting started I panic with the fear of not being able problem solve if something unexpected comes up. Great videos!!
Well… First of all, it’s a 110 … that is a improvement 😂 The underbody looks very nice indeed …💪 As far as the Kit is concerned, it’s a commercial vehicle, so it has to look absolutely INSANE… so people will notice … I think it is fair to say sir, you achieved that goal … 😜 However, just got myself a 110 here in good old Germany … from 2002 and it is already Setup as a camper van, that’s what I will be using this for, in the future… if things progress nicely in terms of COVID-19… maybe I’ll come by the shop one day …🤪 My Landy should be done in a month or two, then onto the road … see ya 👋
Hi juice I just bought them tyres for my 90 tray back now you make me wanna get a set of that wheel's keep the episodes coming I get a lot of good inspiration and ideas!!.👌🏻👍🏻
Always enjoy the videos, clearly a talented workshop and wonder how long before you get a new Defender to mod, or better still….a new Ines Grenadeir! I wonder as a youTuber, do you ever watch the fast growing content from Makher ?
We’ll have our hands on the new defender as soon as we can! I’ve got to say I don’t really get the time to watch much! I really respect Dave and his team, their work is excellent and they’re a knowledgeable bunch!
Those HD swivel guards are an active recall that LR are doing on the newer 110’s. Something to do with the axle breaking away😳 we had a customers one in the other day that had just had them fitted
fitting those tyres is easy if you do it the icelandic way i had same issue use lighter gas take the valve out and set it on fire they pop straight on first time i did it and it was easy for anyone out there who has any issues like the tyre fitter the strap idea works to sometimes to get the bead to seal.
Another excellent video of a Quality install - looking forward to bringing my LR90 defender '89 model to Sam @ Juice very soon for lots of upgrades! Ossie
Looks bonkers, well done chaps! Curious how it drives though, especially on the highway. That is a LOT of extra unsprung weight with the huge tires. I’d imagine that acceleration and braking have both suffered quite a bit.
You make every build so easy. You inspire me to one day build my own fender ground up. Do you have a do it yourself manual that guides you on each build? Watching you from Nairobi, Kenya 🇰🇪
Great work! Thinking about doing this with my 110 too 😁 Did you get ALL the stuff as one package? Then where did you buy it? I only found the single components (springs and absorbers) online... Thanks and go on with these great Cars!
Great video again guys. Giving me far too many ideas!! What's your opinion on the terrafirma stuff? I've read on a couple of groups that it has a poor build quality 🤔
With the solid half shaft you just put the problem somewhere else in my opinion. Like normally they just wear out the driver on the hub and that wears out not the half shaft and not something in the dif. With the solid shaft you have the risk of wearing down the driver in the dif and that’s way more expensive and hard to change ten just the driver on the hub. But that’s just my opinion maybe you can explain to me if it’s any different
Hi guys. I know this is an old video by YT standards. I love most/a lot of Terrafirma products. However, I'm curious why you didn't go with Gwyn Lewis's 4X4 products as he, in my opinion, wrote the book on lifting and articulating Defenders. Not trying to be a hater, just wondering what your decision process was. Looking back, would you change anything?
I believe you misspoke about the front axle reaction arms. Aren’t they to keep the axle from moving front to back as well as rotating ? You said side to side.
Haha, most definitely. The red one on the back of my tee shirt is having a HUGE overhaul in the coming months. Think you’ll love that series as it’s as neglected as they come!
Hi guy’s love the video and the life, I’ve got a Vauxhall Vivaro 2019 van and would love it lifted by a couple of inches, just want it to look more 4x4 and to make it ready for anything not really planning to go off roadding…. What would something like this coast me pls
You need double carden propshafts when you lift a Puma, the stock ones are already at their limit as Puma engines sit higher so they are going to wear out fast
Pumas have wide angle propshaft UJ’s as standard, I can’t tell you how many I’ve lifted and the extent I’ve lifted them too 🤷🏼♂️😂 check my channel for more! Thanks for watching😁 💛
Fantastic video, super informative 👌🏻 Im on the lookout for a defender 110, may i ask how much this setup costs, as i now feel after watching the vid i must have this upgrade? Thanks.
Brilliant video as usual, I must admit, it’s just too much, but I know so people like that monster look. Question, I’m looking at upgrading my suspension on my 110 but I don’t actually want to lift it. Out of the components you just fitted , which is it that provides the lift it’s self?
it’s so cool all pay how much to pay? im from mongolia im same thing but I don't know how to start😅 Can you tell me the breakdown of the price of the equipment? and let's make an order?
Do you have to change the gearing so that it drives? I know you said this one is a coffee shop so they may not want/need it, but I'd be interested in seeing that change. Love the videos - keep them coming 😁 Also love the classic Land Rover build quality: "Clunck, crack crack thud" of the door at the end... they say that sound is as unique as the owners fingerprint.... because no two doors are alike...
It’s having a remap, which for the most part sorts the driving to a liveable standard, but ideally a regear would be ideal to use daily, but then again who uses a machine of this stature daily? 🤣 thanks for your comments and support! It’s much appreciated! Agree about the doors, clunk clack 😂
@@juicemotors me :) Just put an Ashcroft 1:1 in my Tranny box ready for the big wheels Already got a Storm stage 3 remap & BAS intercooler, even with a Disco 1:2 transfer box it felt like it wanted another gear...
Great job lads, I wish I could have mechanic knowledge. And next video do you mind if you list the shops where you get your parts please. Please get me on board for apprenticeship. Please please 🙏 😢
Nice video I have a 2 inch lift but no adjustable pan bar fitted do I just jack up and let axel hand then fit the adjustable pan bar just want to know thanks Great video
subscriber from South Korea I enjoy watching all of your updated video clips! I want to get specific information about importing, cost, and more. How can I contact you guys?
Hi mate .i have a 90 with 2 inch lift I want to replace the springs .i do mostly moderate off road use ..what pound springs would you recommend.front and rear … Many thanks .Paul
fucking qualitttty, all it needs now is the SVX 60th anniversary front grill (silver) and it’d be a fucking moon trekker;) btw we need that discovery II rebuild pronto juice
For a 2” lift you should absolutely fit corrected radius arms, you can just of course fit springs and shocks but you’ll be adding more wear onto the radius arm to chassis bushes - nothing serious though
I've always wanted a Tithonus and wondered what they would look like with huge tyres ,now i know. Would that Vehicle need wheel arch flairs? It looks mean and i bet it will be able to travel across any terrain.
With the tyres jutting so far outside of the wings. Is this legal? And, presumably this is why it was going off to the body shop, to possibly have wing extensions? Fair doo's, the thing looks awesome though.
