Steering damper doesn't extend on it's own otherwise it'd be pointless as you'd constantly be fighting the steering as it tries to extend. Damper is designed to hold in place across the whole range right and left. Stock damper is pretty good but OME damper is definitely an upgrade. Check your swivel preload if your getting a bit of wobble and also panhard rod bushes .

Honestly I say keep the wheels as-is. It looks tough as hell already and you'll just be losing mpg and ride comfort at that point. Cheers for the video, loved it.

Can only imagine how mortifying it would be to see someone with awful taste repping your brand haha. You lads have given me the confidence to work on my own car these last few years, did some proper preventative rust treatment and protection over the weekend. G'day from Australia I am loving the defender videos i have a land cruiser and am running 33s. I think if you go for bigger wheels and tyres you should look to do some power modifications as well for example bigger turbo or tune and some general work such as wheel bearings, swivel hubs and so on. love the videos keep it up.

Great job and the truck is awesome. You could have put dislocation cones on when doing the rear, they’re fantastic if you end up cross axles as they just realign the springs. Keep up the great work cheers buddy 🤙

Chuck some air bags in your rear springs for when loaded and r trippin. Airbag Man Aus. They'll prolong your rear end from drooping prematurely. Then get a decent pump. Deflate inflate, just like your rubber. More offset or bigger tyres will make you more stable, especially in the wet stuff. But as you gentlemen know, it comes at a price! 😉

35s with mud terrain tyres always look better but like you said, the fuel consumption etc might not be worth it! Can also run into some issues with the bigger tyres rubbing on parts in the wheel well but might not be an issue on the defender.

Keep the same wheel/tire size as what is currently on it, so it is still good to drive on the road for long distances rather than just on green lanes :)

Bigger wheels look good but with the distance you're covering in this thing you need it to be as comfortable as possible. Plus the mpg will help when you go fuck off to the highlands again

If you don't do the wheels, please at least paint the rusty bolts on the wheels or replace them. Along with the rust on the head light covers... otherwise love the truck and very jealous I don't have one! Yet!

As someone currently living in Texas, my experience with lifted trucks is that once you start to compromise things so that you can have slightly better tires, the whole truck becomes a pain in the ass to drive etc

@@boqer123 absolutely!! That 2-4 inch lift is the sweet spot for a lift! Anything more than that is when you start losing drivability

If you've got extended shocks you'll probably find the springs will dislocate, also you'll need extended brake flexis, should of done a pin to pin conversion for the shocks on the rear and also extended bumpstops not standard.

Looks wise, I would stick to the wheels you have now. If you want to do some proper offroading then I would go for the bigger ones. Either way I'm sure it'll look sick.
