Excellent job gentlemen. I will be doing that on my supercharged 91 NA. I've been a body man for over 50 years & I would be more comfortable fixing a total than replacing those gaskets. But I feel confident after watching this. thank you again from Ohio USA.

Great video! The CAS bolt that you checked out - remarking that the 1.8 bolt was bigger. I have a 1.6 - like the one in the video, but the head has been rounded . Is there a Mazda part number for a new replacement? Thanks

Noticed that on a lot of your videos now that the camera never seems to focus on close up. It always seems to stay in the same position. Which is generally the background. Nice informative video

Yeah the camera does seem to do that, perhaps we should play with the settings a bit, glad you enjoyed the video though

Thanks for the video. Do you ever put sealant around the spark plug holes to help prevent leaks there?

No, sealant will cause more issues, it should only be used on the sharp corners as shown in the video

How many Bl-inches is "not mental" in the CAS C-clamp.

So can you advance the timing a little more if using premium fuel? Lets say 12 degrees instead of the usual 10 degrees? Thanks, Mike from the USA.

Struggling to set my timing on a 1.6 NA. I've got the gnd and ten connected, idle is set at 850rpm and I've hooked up the timing light. When I checked the pulley for marks it was hard to see any but I did find a small notch which I marked with a white paint pen. When I look with the timing light it is appearing at around 10 o'clock which is no where near the timing marks. The fact it's running I can't see how it could be so far out. The Cas is roughly centered on the bolt currently. When I rotate it the timing mark doesn't seem to move much.

Great video. Would love to see similar one for the mk 2.5 1.8 VVT engine. I'm guessing it's a bit more complicated.

Real question : do the OEM gasket really make a difference ? i'm tired of having to cake up with Silicone sealant to contain the oil inside the cover...

Yes, as mentioned in the video, we only fit OEM cam cover gaskets, that is because we have tried the best from the rest and sometimes they still leak, where as we never have problems with the OEM gaskets

@@lightsuplightsdown3018 Outstanding content guys, honestly - you’re incredibly skilful at what you do. If you could post more how to videos for mk2/2.5’s that would be great! A how to for common oil leaks and what to do, a how to for cleaning up your engine bay. A how to for changing your fuel filter. A how to for break fluid change. There’s plenty I can think of :) Hope you’re keeping safe during the lockdown - all the best
