How to Fit Nissan Navara D40 Pathfinder Cabstar timing chain upgrade new latest advice

Just took my D22 to West Yorkshire engine services for the shell upgrades and the timing chain upgrade plus a new clutch. Arrived to a warm welcome, very friendly and informative. I was even given a lift to the railway station which was only 2 miles away but still no trouble for them. Thanks Les & Suzanne

I just googled "does nissan pathfinder have a timing chain" and your vid link came up... the reason I clicked on it was because of the place name "west yorkshire" oh my home county, not only that your in my home town "Bradford" that I left 40 years ago.... I may of put my comment on the wrong video but I just wanted to say a big Thanks for your videos. It helped me out tremendously. Doing a service on my car. Which is a Nissan pathfinder 2009 The only massive issue I had was trying to remove the oil filter. Totally seized and over tightened by who ever did it last. I ended up have to take the wheel off & cowling. But the worst part was the metal pipe just above the oil filter. Thanks Nissan for your stupid design of where you decided to put the oil filter. Nothing worked even trying above the engine which I tried to do before having to resort to removing wheel etc If its wasn't for your great videos. Which has taken me 2 weeks to find. I think I would of given up. I wish there was more garages that's as good & as honest as you. Specially this day and age. Which is hard to find. And is willing to share some advice & tips to help people such as myself that has been let down by garages. Really appreciate your wealth of knowledge. And will certainly be considering buying parts from your garage. Than the over inflated Nissan dealer where I'm based. They charged me £5 + vat for a sump plug brass washer. And wasn't even prepared to tell me the torque spec on the serpentine belt pulleys which needed changing. And stretched belts. Your a breath of fresh air, And is really appreciated I do hope I have your name right Des thanks again buddy can't thank you enough I've Subscribed 👍👍👍👍

Thank you for telling me about the oil pump O ring, I had just put a new head, water pump and timing chains on my D40, and wondered why the hell the oil light would stay on for 30 seconds after starting. Well after looking at this, I have now pulled it back down and guess what, I need a new O ring, thank you so much for your no bullshit and very informative videos.

good video! just did the job..seems to work allright. one detail i think is an improvement: when fitting tthe lower chain cover, i took out the locating pin.then, i could fit the chain cover without endangering the vital oil seal. tighten the bolts slightly, then hammer in a new pin/piece of 8 mm tube. the old one cannot be reused, its a very thinwalled tube, gets bent with the removal.

Hi if the engine has been running prior,can you still turn the engine by hand to time it up. I need to check a few things not related to a rebuild ...im doing some calculations but hard to explain really thanks inadvance

Do you stock the rear engine lifting brackets? I rang nissan and apparently they dont sell them. Alternatively, how would i support the engine for lifting? One final question, is there any benefit of going with the d40 engine block over the d22 engine block or using parts like the oil pick up from the d40 on my d22 engine?

Hi, I noticed your video makes no mention of the use of shim plates behind the fuel pump sprocket for alignment relative to the vacuum and crank sprockets. Why is that?

Omfg, those 3 bolts that hold the Catalytic converter, super hot here in Australia, i ended up using extention bar, with makita impact driver, the 3rd bolt, i took the front wheel off to get access to it. 😳

hey mate our d40 nav spain did the timming chains and the head. would it be cheaper to buy a lower ks engine? the cams are stuff valves are stuff one injector wont come out

hello nice video I have a question my 06 infiniti m35 started to make a knocking noise / ticking now it lost oil pressure at first when you first start it it only made a ticking not really knocking noise it would go away after you gave it gas now it really has a rod type of knock I think I caught it at the early stages before it spun a bearing any advice is greatly appreciated

I think my d40 cam chain has snapped. It was making a similar noise to that one. It went as I tried to start it so what’s the chance of my valves being shagged?

Hy I'm Paul from malta first of all thanks to help many mechanics even me with your information. .the second thing i fix many Nissan navara in malta and now 1 Nissan navara 2007 d40 is coming with noise is pinking when press the gas more than 2500rpm in the same time is very smoke white .the engine is working 100% but when press the gas more than 2500rpm the engine make this noise the torque of the engine is very good. Is possible the injectors ? If I find this problem i put the answer here guys ceers

West Yorkshire engine in this video you say the bottom or the back timing chain snapped. . But in another one of your video the mechanic saying he's never seen or heard of one snapping.. is always the top chain bit miss leading.. also how much are the kits Thanks
