In this video we look at how to fit the roof rails to the Range Rover L405. We are doing this the "unofficial" way without purchasing the cover strips.
Thank you for this great video, vert informative and instructive. I've bought from you before and used previous videos from you to help. Keep up the good work.
So, a few improvements. All of the rails on eBay and Amazon are from the same manufacturer. The fit needs improvement. For the rear brackets, add spacers under the bracket so you don’t have to force the rail holes to align as in the video. May also need a spacer under the middle bracket. Buy better screws. The screw hex holes are weak and strip. For the rear, make additional holes in the ditch trim for the bracket-to-roof screws. The ditch trim will then sit flush. This is why the oem ditch trim has larger openings. Also buy flanged screws to better fit the holes. DO NOT use the flat head screws, with the 45, they will crack the bracket hole. Buy flanged screws. Test fit the rails with weather strips to ensure holes align before tightening. The torque setting are on the oem instructions.
Great video, love all your video's to be honest. I want to fit the same to a Pano roof model. There are a lot of Pano L405 watchers wanting the same. I see you have missed replying to previous comments asking information on this subject. Is there a technical issue that this cant be done? LR can do it surely you guys can. Please Please lol
Hi Would you be kind to make a video of adding 360° camera for L405. My car came with one rear camera only. Can i upgrade? My console 360° ready. Thanks
Hi Simon. Have been contemplating roof rails on my 405 but it says that they aren’t compatible with a opening pano roof? Is this so, as I have had conflicting opinions from the LR community saying that they’ve fitted them? Cheers matey.
i see this could be a good idea...not sure how the scale would work as this can change on printing etc. We really wanted to keep this design for people who purchased our roof rails - sounds a bit mean i know but i hope the video still helps.
