Thanks for this - very helpful. However, what is not mentioned is you need a Torkx T55 head socket to remove the bolts. Don't begin this task without one!

Great video easy to follow. I need to replace my 10/2 hitch with whatever the current equivalent is. I have an Eriba Triton caravan. Any suggestions please?

Why is it recommended to tighten to 86 Nm? On the instructions it is indicated 76 Nm.

But how does it "stabilise" the trailer? Do you have a video that explains the technology and how it works to help?

What it does is when the stabiliser handle is engaged it pushes small friction discs onto the ball hitch inside the coupling and that in fact nearly stops the towing vehicle and the caravan from bending, as it would in a turn and because of this action it stops the caravan from swaying..

Hi there. Yes, It is possible to go from an AKS 1300 to an AKS 3004. You can purchase the AKS 3004 kit which will come complete with all necessary fixings, from our online shop. what do you do if you didn't watch this video and removed BOTH bolts at once and didn't use the dowel? 👎

Ok so if you havent sorted this out, the easiest way to fit the stabiliser is to mount the stabiliser onto the overrun tube. When properly seated, push the the stabiliser so it depresses the overrun as far back as you can. Then release the pressure on the stabiliser. The overrun should start to push back out. Look through the bolt holes in the side of the stabiliser and when you start to see the through hole at the back of the stabiliser appear push one of the bolts through and out the other side. You may have press the overrun back in to assist in getting the first bolt through. Once thats in place the other hole should also be lined up and you can fit the front bolt.
