In this video I explain how I fit the tuners on the head of a classical or flamenco guitar. It is a simple process, but there are a few thing to bare in mind. Hopefully you find it helpful.

The dowel idea is very clever, so much more variable than a wedge. Cheers

Hi Pablo, I've built and used this jig with great success, I'm really happy with the result. For the "holed section" I tried to use birch plywood (instead of hardwood) wich is quite strong, and it worked just fine. Thank you for sharing your videos!

I love the idea of this jig! As I was only planning to do this drilling procedure once though, I opted to mark the holes by eye and drill by hand. Worked out fine for me! I will definitely be building this jig as I get more into lutherie! Thank you for the instructions!

Estoy usando sintonizadores de clavija sólida. ¿Puede recomendar un procedimiento para evitar daños en la cara y la espalda al perforar? un bloque de sacrificio en la parte delantera y trasera dificulta la alineación. ¡Gran video!

the roller spacing is standard 35mm ? How about the turning ratio 1:14 or 1:18? The bigger turning ratio is better because they are more sensitive and more accurate tuning of the strings. What is the normal standard width of the tuner head machine?

Hi Pablo, Thanks for this tutorial :) nice video. A question, Is that your glue pot (pro-wax 100) on the background? And how do you use this pot?? Greetings Joës

Hi Joës, Yes, it is a ladies wax melting pot, there are lots available in the market, you can also use a baby bottle wormer. With mine the only change I did was to use a glass container for the glue instead of using the aluminium one that came with it, it may not make any difference but just in case I prefer to use glass. Try to find a glass pot that fits quite well and you can put some water in the gap to transfer the heat... if it makes sense. In terms of how to use it, you use in the same way as a normal glue pot, there is lots of info and videos on line about the subject. I hope this helps Pablo

Hi, thanks for these very informative videos. Am I right in saying you use a 10.5 mm drill bit? I did not know they were available.

Yes, that's correct. You can find it on this link: www.amazon.com/uxcell-Reduced-Shank-Twist-10-5mm/dp/B082CYLDC2/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2D9AJRQDQWWG6&dchild=1&keywords=10.5+mm+drill+bit&qid=1603481374&sprefix=10.5+mm+%2Caps%2C217&sr=8-1

I used a 13/32 bit which is approximately 10.3mm to drill the holes in the classic guitar I built. It works great, and you will also have some minimal extra material that you can sand with a dowel and some fine sandpaper to get a smooth fit :)

I saw that your Spanish guitar making courses mentioned that your guitar shall be fitted with Fusteros machine heads. Where can I buy Fusteros Tuner machine head which were vintage tuners and no more in production and rarely to be found..
@redkitekk

You are right, they are not so easy to buy in small quantities any more, however, send them an email just in case the want to sell you some. Use the contact page in their website. www.clavijerosfustero.com

I like those machines, are they by Rodgers ?
@redkitekk

Rodgera tuners are very high end product come with very expensive PRICE TAG, base price start with USD650 per set. I prefer Rubner Guitar Tuner machine head only Euro $25 per set without engraving pattern and only PVC handle buttons.

.......since you glue the head on -why not make the slots and shape and vaneer
