Your timing couldn't be more perfect. Just the other day I was asked to look into replacing one. Always helpful to see a professional take, even on small projects. And this videos is 1000x better than any manufacturer’s instruction video I've ever seen.

I used to love velux 15 years ago when I was in the soft furnishing trade. Used to charge 15.95 fitting per blind. I could fit a velux faster than unpacking and bagging the rubish. About 3 mins each.

I’ve not long fitted my black out roller blinds to my Dakea roof windows. They were just as simple, great bits of kit 👌🏼

Hot dog! They are available in the US. Unfortunately (I think) you left out the installation of a square or rectangular frame and the gray tabs “at the top”. I’m hoping the manufacturer has a fitting that allows a pole to be used when the skylight is in a ceiling. [They do.] Thanks for the recommendation.

we've got black out blinds only, it really is like turning off the lights, even in the middle of the day brilliant edited to say that, like me, you thought about the potential damage to the blind before the fact the strings could strangle you 🤣

Useful/simple video, thanks! Can you provide the velux name for that blind? When I'm searching I can only locate the pleated option but prefer the cleaner look of non-pleats like you have. Link or name appreciated, thanks!

Im on my phone, but the outer translucent blind looked pleated, plecey?. The blackout will be flat. The limitation it due to the track. Im talking 10-15 year old info mind. Contact them direct. I'm not paid to say so but they have thier shit together.

Have some solar blinds coming soon (well 70 day lead time). Only problem is they are out of reach hence going for the solar ones! So will be interesting to fit. Let me know if you or velux want to do another video, I won't even charge a filming location fee.
