"This Device Cannot Start (Code 10)" error usually occurs in a situation where the device manager isn't able to start the Hardware device. And this can happen due to outdated or corrupted drivers.

Restarting your computer solves many computers related issues and the device cannot start code 10 error is one of them. Besides, the feature “hardware and device troubleshooter” can help you detect the exact location of the error and would then ultimately solve it. If method 2 didn't work, a faulty update may be the reason you run into this error. So undoing and rolling back the device driver updates could fix error code 10. If method 3 didn't work, maybe the reason you are having this error is that you haven’t updated your drivers. Update the drivers for your faulty device can fix this error. If this doesn’t work, turn to delete the UpperFilters and LowerFilters values in the registry.

I have tried everything here step by step and nothing has worked for me. However for step 5 the upper and lower filters do not appear when I open the registry editor. The only other thing I can think of is my widows not being up to date however I have been trying to update windows for months now and it simply never does and does not tell me why.

Same here. I even performed a fresh install and the device gets installed automatically (Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265)

Thank you for your assistance. I followed step by step until I got to registry editor and there were no upper or lower filters. I will search other options I suppose.

My HP x360 14-dh1xxx touchpad doesn't function quiet often but when connected to external mouse its working fine for me, I usually observe two errors 1) I2C HID Device not working properly 2) Mice and Other Pointing devices doesn't even pop up in device manager I used your second method and its worked fine for me, I tried tons of other settings before like editing the regedit and updating the drivers manually as well as with HP support assistant, but the problem still seemed to arrive again. Hope the CMD method suggested by you guys should fix this permanently. Thanks :)

I tried uninstalling the driver from device manager and downloaded and installed a new one just a couple of minutes ago and it worked Well I needed another device with internet to download same driver

Wouldn’t recommend doing the upper/lower filters unless you want the screen of death. Make sure you back EVERYTHING up before doing it.

If there were no new installations or updates of any kind, then from what I have personally experienced at home and at work, the device in question has gone caput. These suggestions and a few more would definitely be helpful/applicable if it is a software related issue but out of the blue "Device Cannot Start" has always bee n a bad device in my experience, especially if the device in question is audio, camera, wireless or wired NIC. I have actually seen BIOS updates or Security firmware updates cause this issues with aforementioned devices. Tip #1: Do not update your BIOS unless you have a valid need/reason. Tip #2: Never install "Beta" versions of BIOS updates.

Thank you for this video! I noticed my System Firmware had a ! on it and under Properties it said the device could not be loaded. Updating the cheapset didn't work, troubleshoot detected an issue, but couldn't properly find and solve it. Roll back is what did the trick for me!

I had multiple Bluetooth stations installed on my PC, so I reduced it to one with physically removing one of the bluetooth/wifi stations and removing the driver for the station that was installed. The I installed the driver for the wifi/bluetooth part that I still had in the PC. That solved it for me.

After a month of this ordeal CODE 10/43. I finally got the solution. Went to the local laptop repair shop, and he checked and tried to do the same disable enable and uninstall restart but to no avail. When he removed all the screws of the laptop to check the hardware he found that the receiver for the WiFi was damaged. So for just Rs.400 and just half an hour, he solved my months-old problem. So for those that haven't been able to find a solution, try the EXPERTS too.

thank you very much! Method 5. worked for me. My bluetooth device in laptop didnt use to work so i tried 5:12 and it worked 😃😃. but i didnt just delete the upper or lower filter, deleted whole key together all stuff under it. After that i restrated pc and bluetooth could start succesfully. :)

trying to fix audio driver "HIGH DEF AUDIO CONTROLLER" error 10. no device to use. none of these worked and I tried all these in the past except regedit, which did nothing.... oh well my hopes weren't very high since I have spent days and days working on it.

I have tried everything, it still reads as USB Input Device and I cannot remove the drivers for it I tried removing them in system 32 but still can't and my system automatically sets it up and automatically installing the drivers I don't want.

Nope, 0 for 5. I just put a USB 3.0 hub into my computer, and it's providing power to the ports, but not transferring data. Unfortunately, nothing here worked. I'm shocked this is such a pain in the ass to troubleshoot.

I did the troubleshooter for my Intel AC 9560 160mhz issue and it said it fixed the code 10. Restarted my PC because nothing was changing and now I have a code 43. :/ I've only had this PC for 5 months and I can't seem to fix this.

I've done something by accident, fixing the issue: I went to: device manager -> I2C HID (the one with the warning sign) -> update driver -> "Search for drivers on my PC" -> "Select from a list of drivers from my PC" -----> in the following window there is a box with "Model" and the I2C device in it. Double click the I2C device and look if something happens. FOr me this solved the issue.

Hi there, If your external hard disk is not showing up in disk management, it's possible that there is an issue with the connection between the hard disk and your computer. I just love how you DON'T listen to people and their error for the MOUSE. HOW do I right click WITHOUT a mouse? You don't!!!! I've restarted, reset Windows 10 completely, used the keyboard to get into the Mouse settings to be told there is a driver error - error 10 and it doesn't let me roll back that corrupted driver. That's WHY I came here only for you to assume that somehow magically people will be able to use their mouse - when in fact that's the issue.

I did it finally, I unplugged the external device and the external wifi adapter and later plugged the external wifi adapter again. It got fixed !!!

I had done everything except last but there are no lower nor upper filters. Also the device that doesn't work in the wife adapter so I can't connect to the internet. I manually downloaded it driver and it told me that had the latest driver. Rollback options is grayed out so it was never an option for me. This all happened after a Windows update.

Tried all methods and none of them worked. My girfriend' laptop updated to WIndows 11 a few months back and all was well. Until last night. Uninstalled and reinstalled the driver but I still have the same issue. Device cannot start (Code 10) This is the Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201 160MHz adapter.
