What a dog's breakfast! Wouldn't it cheaper just to get another engine?

You can get a engine for cheaper but you wont know the condition of it either so if i can fix this then i can probably fix anything 😁

Looks like its going to be hard to make a reliable engine out of that one. Is there plenty of used Hayabusa engines for sale in South Africa ?

@Road-to-500kmph 12 дней назад
No not a lot and then you don’t know the conditions of it either so it’s best to build this one even if it looks bad.

@@Road-to-500kmph Ok. Biggest issue i see is the main journals, they are already modified and maybe did not work so good. I once tried to use bigger bearings shells on mains but it failed immediately. I still have the engine blocks if you want them, except shipping would cost more than buying locally :)

@@widelcdi will make a video on what i do on the mains.We line hone it to the closest size

@@Road-to-500kmph One thing i am curious to know, the welds in the block, did they leak oil ? I once did a similar repair after rod failure, my friend did the welding as he does it for work, still when the oil got hot it slowly started to leak through, had to add silicone :)
@Road-to-500kmph
@Road-to-500kmph 12 дней назад
@@widelcdbecause of the welding the casings warp so you would need to face the two casings and then line bore/hone the mains to make all the sizes correct again

What advantage do you get by locking the slipper piece? 5:53
@Road-to-500kmph
@Road-to-500kmph 11 дней назад
It is there for when you downshift and brake hard to give the clutch slip so you dont lock up the back wheel but they tend to make a noise when the bike idles so making it solid just reduces the clutch noise
