The frustration of finding something wrong is necessary for the subsequent rewarding feeling of fixing it. Hope those stuck piston rings come loose so you can justify buying a new gas cap 👍
That's a good way to look at it. I hope to be finished with the piston ring experiment in the next couple of weeks. Maybe a new gas-cap is in my future :-)
That might be my problem. ---But another weird thing about it is that when I put gas in it (not necessarily even filling it up---even if I just put half a tank) the engine will surge and try to stall for the first 5 minutes or so of driving. If anyone has a clue what that might be I'd love an opinion. Thoughts? Thanks for the comment, Rob!
@@FamilyFriendlyDIY I put my car on parking turn on then hit drive and just dies on me then I put back in park and then neutral and just rev it up hard then it works Corolla 2001 bro they junk
I found out on my Ford ranger if you disconnect your negative battery cable over night it really clears every code. My ford ranger really ran good after i did that.
So if you want to clear code on a Toyota or any other car just take both of the battery cables off and touch them together and then put them back on touch both of the terminals that's after they offer the battery
check you corolla purge valve solenoid (usually behind the MAF sensor) . It control your evap from the canister. Might also want to consider cleaning your upper oxygen sensor. Burn it to red hot and soak it into the water (a few time) to release the carbon that inhibit the reading. I drive a corolla myself, it is a relatively easy and cheap to maintain car. Don't think changing the fuel cap is going to do any good.
@@FamilyFriendlyDIY you are most welcome from one Toyota owner to another. Anyway, I am going to dismantle the manifold and soak the chamber with CRC intake cleaner. Then use a shampoo bottle pump to suck out the residue once the carbon dissolve. I think this is more effective to prevent piston ring jam. Something visually you can see and probably feel the result. Moreover, it is not difficult to dismantle a corolla manifold. Mine is 13 year old, and with the milage of 300, 000 KM. Hope you solve the problem soon and my best wishes to you and your family, enjoy good health and a merry Christmas.
@@marxseet how did it go please give advise my gas tank makes vaccume noise when i open the gas cap after driving and my gas is leaking like the video 😢
I know, right? It would leak when the tank was full; then when it got so low it would only leak when it was running; then when it got a little lower, it wouldn't leak at all. I thought it had something to do with warm fuel recirculating back to the tank from the fuel-pump, or air-pressure building in the tank. Thanks for the comment, Pete.
What!? Is this the Victor I think it is? I can't believe you found this video! ... I just want you to know I DON'T blame YOU for this. Some cars just have issues. I understand when you're flipping cars you can't know everything that's wrong with them. I blame Toyota for these problems, not you. Hope you and your family are doing well!!
I know, right? ... Right now the car looks like it's cursed, but I'm hoping it will end up being a blessing in disguise as it's given me a chance to video some experiments on it. ... Thanks for all the comments, @Faus_XV10. I read all the ones you left on my other videos too. Thanks for watching. All the best man!
