How to Fix a DigitalPersona U.are.U 4500 Fingerprint Reader Driver 

I downloaded the earlier driver and installed the WBF driver. It didn't work. So I found this video and downloaded the 64bit version and it connected to the reader. However, it wasn't recognized by Windows. I was pretty puzzled at this point. I figured I may as well try the original WBF driver. That seemed to work and now I have it set up. This is really confusing, and most people would have no idea what to do.

Thanks it worked... I installed the drivers from your site and selected the U.areU Fingerprint reader (without the 4500)

According to Amazon this works with Mac, but I have been unable to get it to work. Is it compatible and if so, how? I am running Sonoma 14.5 on a brand new Mac Pro. Thanks.

Whoa the solution are very simple but I didn't know about that, I've been installing and reinstalling many different driver and still can't get to work for hours because I think it's the faulty driver. I am suspicious with the "WBF" at the end because there's 2 computer that got installed with this fingerprint and the one that works doesn't have "WBF" at the end but the other computer had the "WBF" and I didn't know that the solution are just to select the one without WBF in device manager. Thank you very much!

Thank you! Is this still a recommended buy anno 2020? I don't like the lack of blue LED on the newer scanners and also I don't need the newest milspec and all. But I do like quick response time and high success rate. Any advice?

i am not having a finger print scanner on my laptop and have a digital persona fingert print scanner u are u 4500 and win 10 can i use it for windows hello or for loging into the windows etc please reply as soon as possible (Sorry the the bad english)...........

im trying to set this up for home use to allow 5 future people to log into a single pc just with their fingerprint and not a password (or pin) that they will forget. this reader makes it so much easier. PLEASE HELP!
