Other than getting the hose connector turned around (watch out for that one), the machine is simple to put together and use ru-vid.comUgkxfQauTxLT0JLSvqkq10rD79TU4k0Vz8zP . And very nice, too. I'm surprised at the power-it's more than we'll ever need, and we've not even used the most powerful setting yet.I've cleaned off a dirty concrete porch to get it ready for sealing, started to clean siding, and I know this pressure washer will be terrific for cleaning tools this fall. The only issue we had is we had turned around the hose connector, and it leaked. Once it was on correctly, though, we had no problems with the connection. Just remember that the end with the green knob goes towards the hose. It's obvious now what we did wrong, but not necessarily obvious at the time.
Hi Nick, I have watched your 3 videos on repairs, you seem to concentrate on leaking and pulsating. you did mention very briefly on no pressure. My problem is that with everything hooked up, there are no water leaks and when the pump is turned on, and I press on the trigger it starts up and sounds like it is running like normal but does not pressurize. The only water that comes out the end is from the town water supply. The thing that has me stumped is that the unit turns on and off like normal using the trigger on the handle and does not get any high pressure ?????????
Hi, I have a pressure wahser just like the one you have on the video. It runs well for a few minutes and then just shuts off. I cannot understand. Good pressure and everything it just stops working after a few minutes of operation. Would appreciate your thoughts. Thanks
Karchers are junk. Neighbor and me bought the electric models independently a few years ago. Both of ours developed leaks shortly. His went first putting out on the sidewalk for trash pickup. Mine went about a month later and and also gone to the dumps. I tried to fix it but was so surprised to find the pump was plastic and had a crack in it thus the major water leak. Plastic pump, high pressure stresses and manufactured at a low price point do not end good. If you could fix it then fix it but if parts cost close to a new one, don't think it's a good idea.
Regarding the seal at 5:18, what about the little seal type o-ring that broke off of the connector, not the one that wraps around the plastic but the one that sits at the end of the brass component? What is that called? Every time I turn on my pressure washer, this part shoots off of the unit and I need to screw it back on...
why do so many Karchers leek, and dont tell me everybody puts them where they freeze in winter, i think its because they use plastic parts where the most pressure is and they mostly tend to split, a very poor idea for the customer!
Thank you for the video. question? My Karcher K392 is damaged by me. I made the mistake of putting bleach into the detergent reservoir. I didn't know better at the time. Now, water squirts out of the small tube that should be drawing detergent in. What parts do you think I need to replace and where can I purchase them? Thanks :)
Bought a Karcher last month, took ages to get started because my hands aren't strong enough to screw the water hose in - BUT, once that was all sorted it went totally beautifully and worked exactly as I had hoped. Today, I have spent more than an hour trying to get started and have TWO problems. 1] adding hose, as above. Have tried both the first and a different connector end in case one works better than the other. Neither works well and there is water everywhere. I am soaked through, but luckily it is very hot in New Zealand today. 2] When I have the water connected [more or less, water flowing in as well as everywhere else] I turn on the power. It either starts and runs for perhaps 1 second, or remains silent. It's an 80km drive up to the shop where I bought it - surely it must be something simple?
great set of fix it vids mate. Ranks in the top 5 of fix it vids I've watched on you tube. This is how fix it vids should be done. Now to tear apart my Karcher. Thanx!!!
Nick I have a K3.96m that some one gave me. Trying fix it but it does not build pressure or stops running. Plus my soap jug fulls up with water. I would like not having to buy the whole housing assembly when it my be just seals. What is you thought on that?
Hi Nick, I have a Karcher 6.450 washer. It won't sart up. It just hums. I have tried bleeding the water line and I have tried starting it with the lance trigger depressed. It still won't start. What should I do? Could it be a capacitor? If so, is that something I can replace? Thanks
Hi. My karcher K3 is not working. I used it for long time mean more than 15 minutes. Now it is not working. According to you what may be the problem? Please reply
My K2 seems to run the motor freely. It lost pressure and then the motor rpms increased like the motor wasn’t attached to anything. What could be the problem? Broken impeller?
I dismanteled my Carcher completely, changed oil, greased all bearings, reasembled it completely, than I realised I did not clean this little water filter at the housing...Cleaned it, works nice...Suppose, next time I ll do easy repairs first...
Hello I have Karcher K5.200, its humming but no pressure. I replace capacitor as it was burst and melted. But still the same issue. Can you let me know whats wrong. I have watched most of your videos so tonight, im going to check seals and filter area.
My Winner 11 had stopped working. It worked before I put it away last time, but it was dead on the next try. I found this film clip and used your tip to hold down the trigger and switch the machine on and what do you know, it works. Sensational!! Cheers! Maddo
60 bucks for the two pieces at 2.38, and a new machine cost about 150, so i would sell the old crapper for parts for 25 bucks, and buy a brandnew one, and don't have to take it a part for at least 6 years or longer.
Good in formative video, but would be better if you show steady close ups of damage instead of holding the part close to the camera and waving your hand about. However the info helped me repair my Karcher, so many thanks for that.
Hi, my pressure washer seems to have issue with pressure. It blasts water for 3 sec and 3 sec no pressure at all, so it's running between cycles of pressure and no pressure. What could be the issue you think. Thanks
Hi, I have this unit and not used it in a while. Tried this weekend gone and water is pouring from the trigger handle. Any idea what this would doing this or point me in the right direction please? Thx Keith
My Karcher 395 has been a real workhorse over several year.. It has pulsed a few times off and on with nothing changing as far as pressure and working correctly. Just recently it made a noise and now it will not "idle" down off of full pressure when you release the trigger. It still runs full power with the trigger/water off. Electrical or internal parts? Ty
Hello I have a karcher and when I turn the water on , water pours out from the handle and trigger area. what will I have to replace or repair in order for this to stop. It also is not building any pressure.lHELP!!!
Hi Nick, l was just wondering l have a Karcher K4.97 and when l press the trigger l get a 5 second delay before the machine starts up. Is the fault the control pump head out something else.
I'm having trouble with mine, it's pulsating but the seals look good... Also, it's constantly leaking from the detergent thingy, even when turned off.. any ideas? I could replace the whole cylinder/control head but as many stated, you might as well buy a new one :l
great video. i have a karcher 320m my issue is the last couple times i use it, the on/off switch isnt working properly. it is always on once you plug in the unit. when you turn it to off, it stays in the on position. what is the issue? would it be the brown internal switch gone? thank you
Hi Nick, hope u can help!!! pressure washer, lost all power hubby replace fuse after fuse keeps blowing them. Could there b a lose wire some where??? Thanx dawn
Help anyone! When I plugged my karcher k2 into the electric mains yesterday there was a crack and flash from inside the casing. It doesn't work anymore. Any advice appreciated.
Hi my washer does not pump detergent even when I put the washing wand on the "mix" setting or use the brush wand. Please do you have any ideas what might be wrong?
I have a cheap plastic welder but no luck. Need to spend much more on a good setup. Leaning curve might be a little steep and some plastics could not be repaired.
Hello Nick. I replaced all plastic parts on pump and all seals/o-rings in all system and it still pulsates and have no pressure. can it be that some of parts was placed in wrong?
hello Villijs, it could be a number of thing, I recommend pulling it all down again, then seeing if the seal between the control head and cylinder head. also try to see if the water flow to the cylinder head is good. let me know how you go :)
Thank you! Mine had stopped working. It worked before I put it away last time, but it was dead at the next try. I checked the fuse which was OK and then searched on line. I found this film clip and used your tip to hold down the trigger and switch the machine on and Bingo! It works. Cheers! Keith
hi Nick. thanks for your vids. I have an electric k4.99 unit. While replacing the pump head, some of the oil leaked out. Karcher sell a replacement 50 ml grease but also said I could just use 80W90 G-L5 or 15W30 non detergent. However, my local auto store does not have non detergent oils, they all have additives. Any recommendations, does it matter too much.
Hi Nick, I have one karcher with me and when I turn it on it keeps the motor on and it doesn't build any pressure. It was working fine but after a 10min work this morning it stopped working, no pressure is built and it doesn't turn off if I don't switch it off. If I doesn't turn the switch off I reckon the washer would run until it breaks because the motor is not stopping and there's no pressure being built. It doesn't matter if I push the trigger or not, the motor keep running non-stop just if I turn on the switch. Any idea what it could be? If I change the parts you suggested in your videos do you think the washer could work again?
No that is a different issue, there is a high pressure non return valve inside of the control head (not the valve body) which is allowing all the high pressure water to flow into the garden hose. replace that and your problem is solved
Hi nick can you advice me what part I need to change in my k3.77 as I used it with warm water. The engine is running, but the pressure is very very low, like you can wash a toddler feet with it. Thanks in advance
