In this video I prep and seal the rivets in the bow section of an aluminum Tracker 1542 Jon boat, using the GLUVIT epoxy product, and quickly showing you how it's done.
Stay tuned, there's a Jon Boat upgrade and walk through video coming later this spring!
Before beginning the jon boat to bass boat conversion I wanted to seal things up.
I must thank tiny boat nation for their jon boat to bass boat conversion videos and how to series for all of the great video content and inspiration. Check him out on the tube for great how-to content!

Sir, you’ve done alot to your jon boat already. That’s good to know you’re continuously upgraded it all the time.

Built an aluminum frame for the back deck today-waiting on some parts to to the front deck and run the electric. This time will be MUCH more legitimate 💪🏻 and professional.

So it worked?

Yes, not 100% but really slowed it down notably. If i wanted a perfect solution now i would drill out and apply new rivets in the leaky spots

Where did you get that at?

Ive ordered it from Amazon. There’s not much you CANT find on there.

I'm a little disappointed. I was expecting some flexseal and sharks. 😉👍

Man I just used gluvit on my boat and I’m still leaking 😢

Shoot. May have to find the actual rivet, drill it out…then out in another rivet. Bummer but sometimes happens that way

Great video! I’ve only heard it pronounced “glove-it.”

Youre probably right! I read about it online and may have taken some creative license when pronouncing. The leaks did come back after a season of pounding but remain minimal so i would say it has been an effective product

Rus I have to do this same thing very soon. Unfortunately the way they come today creates galvanic reactions on the boat. Great video. Nice job.

Thats a bummer. If you want a hand sometime on that stuff, consider the offer open :) Im building my lil boat into something more comfortable and with more working storage this week. Just waiting on parts in the mail

@@paddleandhook I completely know what you mean. I am actually replacing my tires and wheels and repacking bearing this week myself. I am leaving next Thursday & towing mine to Pine Island, Florida, rented a house for spring break and plan on fishing everyday!

I'm actually going to aluminum braze my pit holes first and then paint them with the Gluvit.

You don’t do anything to the bottom?

So, this worked well for a season to really slow down the leak, but ultimately the best way to fix it was to drill out and replace the rivet in the ling run. This boat goes in some pretty good chop sometimes so the gluvit wasnt able to hang with those demands

Might as well just hit every rivet with that stuff.
@paddleandhook

I had one leaker, and hit as many as i could easily get in the front. I think dragging the boat on and off ditch banks to get in small ponds took a toll but now things are good to go :) big modifications are underway now to meet my needs
