I have a TRX350 2003, just installed new petcock , fuel filter and line. Now I have fuel leaking from the bottom of the carb. Bowl port. Now I may have to do a carb. Cleaning? It don’t leak while running though. Runs good. 🙏🏼🇺🇸❤️
check fuel if low enough it might slosh away from pickup when going forward. Or maybe carb issue, but not sure why it would only happen in forward gears
Some of them are vacuum but most are just vents. Some go to swingarm or crankcase, and route up on top of the gas tank with open ends to vent out gases
Just curious how it was running poorly. I just bought an 04 rancher, its a sweet little beast but does not idle until it is completely warm. It will run for a bit then sputter and stall. Once its warm no probs idles and runs like a champ. Im wondering if this could be a dirty pilot jet that needs a good cleaning?
Based on what you said it might just have the idle set too low. Usually when the pilot is clogged it will not idle at any temperature. Try turning the idle up slightly. Mine was idling and cruising around perfect, but would fall on its face under heavy throttle.
This is common with Honda Quads from that time. My 400 04 Rancher has done this from the time I bought it. new A friend of mine has three Honda Quads, and they like mine, are all cold blooded. (Sputter, rough idle and stall) The longer I go between start ups the, worse it is.
@@martinschulz9381 Hey Martin thanks for the insight. I have a feeling you might be right on the button with your assessment. This carb should be fine as is and it could be that spending time tinkering with it will not help.
@@jimgroulx3956 Honda quads are great machines and it will probably provide you with years of good service. (They're just cold blooded) I recommend sticking with regular Honda GN4 oil as the Honda auto transmission is a unique hydraulic transmission.
