@@ARTVENTUREFILMS I recently got Rx 590 Gigabyte 8gb... The latest drivers are installed...My Processor Ryzen 5 2400g... PSU 650W Circle... RAM 24gb.. with two fans 1) Processor and back fan... My GPU temperature hits 80C... just by playing GTA 5 for 10 mins.. what could be the reason? How do I fix this? and idle GPU temperature is 35C... Could you please help!
the most funny thing about my problem is, i just watched all of the channels about pc troubleshooting, for the past week, and i got the answer in here, maybe we just have the same problem, but maybe, you explain it really well. thanks Mr Andrew Scott, have a great day!
Just went through this myself and it was just as you said - unbelievably frustrating! On a side note, the music in your videos is really loud compared to the voice =]
Wow this is the first time I'm seeing someone have this issue and actually solving it... I recently just built my first PC a few weeks ago ( its a Ryzen 5 3600 , RTX 2060 KO system on a asrock B550 mobo) and I can run most games at high settings but whenever I do anything like multiplayer my computer just shuts down... tried to check its stability on default bios settings and everything on Cinebench and it can even make it a minute through it before shutting down. This is all new hardware so I have no idea what the problem could be or where to look.... but thanks to this video I think i'm just going buy another PSU and pray it solves my issue
@@AsherAmir2002 I've been using the same 650w power supply for a year and this just happened a week ago. 🥺 I'm reformatting as we speak and will see if something worked on me.
My set up is asrock 570x gaming phantom 4s, Ryzen 5 3600, XFX 5700xt raw II and 600w ps4. I had an issue where my pc should just shut off when playing games only so I thought it was a gpu heat issue or driver issue. Did everything in the video and it still shut down. So I tuned the gpu fans to turn on full max around 65c and the issue still happens. Finally I figured out it was a cpu or psi or bios issue because my card wouldn’t get over 65c gaming. When to the bios found that my cpu critical rage was set to 75 and fans were on standard. I changed the cpu critical range to 95 because that is the range for amd 3600. The. Went to fan settings in my bios to do a custom profile when to kick on fans at full throttle at around 64c. Saved my settings restarted the went to power settings in windows to adjust my power performance to 90% instead of 100% just to test. Play monster hunter max settings with no issues. No pc shutdown. My bios was shutting down the pc because the cpu was hitting Over 75c. AMD CPUs and XFX 5700 cards run real hot and use a lot of power. Definitely a cooling issue for me and the stick cpu cooler is not so great if you want to keep your cpu under 85c while gaming. I am investing in a cpu and gpu water cooled setup. Everyone says it is normal for amd to run at those temps but for longevity I will be upgrading my coolers. This was just my problem so please try at your own risk , just thought I might share how I fixed the issue.
Six years later someone turns up to say... I have had the same kind of problem for at least a year. Never shut down under load, like gaming, just randonly while idling or occasionally launching a program or clicking someone, but after having tried almost everything, yesterday I found something relatively reproducible while using Resolve (wild eh?) & a power supply is on its way. And NOW I've come across your video so I'm lesving a comment as a kindred spirit. Wish me luck when it gets here! I want to feel that relief!!!
Mines did the same but restarts rather than shutdown....I've concluded that it is indeed my psu as I have a thermal take PSU.... Not my temps , Doubt it's windows . Gunna give it a try knew I would regret going with thermal take 😅
thank you very very much. my son has been on my case about playing games and pc shutting down never ever thought of a power supply until i change the power supply. almost throw away graphic card
Was nice to see you so happy fixing your pc! I''m on the same pad right now but the problem is i dont really have money to change the hardware to see what whats wrong with my pc... i've already tried -Nvidea software downloaded -All drivers and software updated -Processor max capacity settings changed to 50%-70% -Computer cleaned from unnecessary sofware and making more space available -Checked if all cables are in it and all hardware (not done yet) -asked for measuring instrument volt meter to measure watts and graphic card (not yet done) -Checked for corrupted files or necessary windows 10 updates -Software windows adjusted to low quality settings - Cleaning the shitt out of it
Thanks Jasper! Hopefully you'll get there too! If you want another opinion I would love to hear how and when your PC crashes. 750watt really seems like it'll be enough for the normal PC.
it crashes while gaming, not while i play league of legends but games like guild wars 2 or doom. It never crashes while im just using the pc but only when i use heavy sofware like go pro studio :(
@@rubenpolle123 Jasper Spierings Hmm, I would start with CPU and GPU. Can you borrow another graphics card of a friend? That's what I've done. And I would try and go even lower with the CPU max capacity setting, just to be sure. Hope you'll find the issue soon!
Hi, I got this same issue of yours. Geez, I tried anything, replacing cpu cooler, video card, RAM, reseating all the cables, hard drive, fresh installing Windows, anything. Nothing happens, until I watched your upload very carefully, I was like "Wow, I forgot to replace my PSU tho", my PSU is lit since 2010, still kicking and I don't know why my PSU could be a traitor of this unsolving issues to my unit. Haha. Now, I replaced the PSU, check all the cables, cleaning of dirt inside the chassis and it runs fine You deserved more viewers, mate. Cheers.
Holy smokes man, that sounds amazing! Glad i could help to fix your issue, even though it seems like it could've been a little earlier 😅 Anyways, awesome that it works and thanks mate !!
I have now found this video and I built my pc like a month ago and I went on vacation for a week and my pc keeps just randomly crashing at random points but I’ll try to use your advice to help me establish what the issue is with my pc
I wish you the best of luck figuring out the problem! not an easy task. You might get some helpful advice in the comments too. Thanks for sharing dude!
this problem has driving me insane for 2 weeks...already replaced every piece exept the motherboard and the CPU. sometimes the pc can stay on for a 20hours, and then next time just 1 hour....it's so random. i thought it was the psu since it happened more frequently during games but no luck. -- EDIT: IT WAS THE CPU. I managed to pinpoint the issue with a cpu stability test with OCCT, the pc always rebooted using that test, the rest of the components tests were fine. I disabled all cores exept 2 in the bios and the reboots stopped. what a pain to fix this was lol, don't rule out anything because every case is different. EDIT2: did some undervolting and estabilized the voltage and i can run the CPU with all cores now, but at 10-20% less speed (at least the pc doesn't crash)
I know the feeling!! Today I fixed my PC. It had all kind of strange problems the last two weeks. It turned out to be a boken USB hub... when I pulled the chord out, all was good in the world! Great feeling! I just can't stand imperfection!!!!
I can relate this man's emotion. From a month or so, I've been frustrated from random shutdowns. My pc just shuts down randomly, opening perticular apps, video rendering, editing, plugin perticular usb devices, even plugin mobile via usb, dual channel rams doest work some times, system doest boot with gpu installed, cabinet fans turned on etc. And I was so distracted from rectifying the root of cause by these silly incidents. Hense I've Upgraded my mothetboard, Sold Old Motherboard at cheap price, reinstalled windows, returned to old drivers, reinstalled CPU 3/4 times, cleaned CPU, RAM Socket, Altered Rams in different channels. It looked like problem was gone for a short time but after that no success. I was kind a depressed. After a deep thought, Finally I've figured out that I was using a used repaired SMPS from 1.5 Years which was given from service center as product replacement. I'm going to buy a good quality SMPS which will surely solve my problem ❤ There are two major facts that I Learned here: 1) Never use cheap local grade PSUs. 2) Always begin from the root in order to find & fix any problem.
My brother, i bought gts 210 gpu so, on the computer shop my pc run properly and perform well but with their PSU in my case the gpu is 8pin my old psu was 6 pin i bought the 500w power supply too i didnt check too much and take my pc to home when i turn on the pc its ran normal and shut it down like yours i found all the stuff internet youtube etc.. But i think i found the real problem their psu was 600w and mine is 500w thank you so much bro you saved me ❤️ love from sri lanka
I've been getting crashing when working in AE, I've troubleshoot every single aspect of my PC with no sign of failure. I feel like I've been on your same journey and am about to try a new PSU today. I hope it also fixes my issue. I want to share your joy haha.
@@ARTVENTUREFILMS New PSU didn't do it for me unfortunately. I tested every single part of my PC and everything tests good, even with the new PSU. The last two things were motherboard and or software related (Drivers). I did something I would never normally do... I tried one of those All-In-One driver solutions. Specifically DriverPack 17. It looked fishy as hell, installed some software I didn't want, like Opera, but in the end, I think it fixed my driver issues. I'm starting day 2 of no crashing. Seemed to have been a driver issue afterall! I will report back if my issue comes back.
@@ROMTHIRTY Awh man that sounds like a lot of struggle but awesome that this driver solution worked for now. Fingers crossed it will work out for good 😃
@@ARTVENTUREFILMS It Didn't. Lol. I got some more freezing. I've since then tried a couple of more things and it's been stable once again. Not sure if it's another illusion or not, guess i'll find out in due time. New things I've tried are setting my HDD settings in my power options to Never turn off. By default it's set to 20 mins. I tried the HDD repair from boot and not from within windows, and ran another driver software that found some drivers missing still. I'll report back with results in a day or two.
@@ARTVENTUREFILMS but mine is a custom buld too, but i built mine with lower performing parts, but not necessarily poor quality, the brands i used were: EVGA, Gigabyte, Intel, Kingston, Toshiba, Thermatake
@@ARTVENTUREFILMS well me either but i took my time and i did everything myself with my hands and screwdriver, i made sure all the connectors were in properly and its been running so good for almost a year now, very proud of my build.
AMAZING!! I've been getting this issue since a few days now and it is FRUSTRATING I can totally understand your relief and happiness :D I'm gonna get a new psu today!
I’ve had problems with my pc too, I did all your steps and changed my power supply with no luck. The crashes only happen when I’m doing simple tasks like browsing the web. When I’m playing games it runs like a charm. I have swapped about every part. Do you think it’s related to my motherboard ?
Oh man, that's sad to hear you put in so much effort and it still crashes. You have swapped out every single part? GPU, PSU, RAM, Software and so on? The CPU as well? Because that is one part that I didn't exchange when doing the video, but had to change one year later. Having to swap out the whole motherboard is almost like a new build. Of course you could try but I'd do every single option before the motherboard. Good luck dude!
slxrp. My problem was related to some bios settings all i did was change the Vcore. I have not crashed since, found this on a forum, where someone had the same problem as me.
I had my system, a Dell Desktop XPS 8940, 32 Ram, 8 Gig NVidia 3060 RTX Ti, for over a year without any problems. I always did my updates from Dell. My last update from Dell included at least 15 various upgrades. The update went smoothly, then a week later the system would shut down randomly without warning, I could be logged in for a minute, 15 minutes, or an hour, then crash. I resolved the issue by running sfc / scannow at a command prompt while logged into Windows, then chkdsk /f /r via a command prompt in windows, the next time you reboot the computer, chkdsk will run a repair the system. this worked for me, good luck.
One gets a lot of these computer maintenance dealers who will tell you your graphics card is burnt out, but it is not so, they sell a new ultra-expensive one & resell your good working old one, most computer users never open the chassis.
Oh no.... I have a hx1000i PSU. If it IS my power supply its going to suck because the upgrade for my power supply is going to cost 500... You have a 600 watt power supply, so thats pretty inexpensive to switch. did you upgrade or just replace?
I'm not quite sure. I think i bouht a different model with the same amount if not a few more watts. Wasn't much of a difference though. Hope it works for you!!
eppsislike believe it or not. My current 1000 watts is a Corsair... platinum rating too.... But my hardware is hybrid content creator/gamer with demanding specs.... so I’m going to invest is a “beefier” PSU (1600watts) Do you have a preference in that caliber Psu?
I was also having a lot of issues with my pc and windows 10 that I thought it was my hard drive dying. Reinstalled windows numerous times and still having issues. But eventually I also found out the psu was the issue, replaced it and never had issues up to this day.
I hate when people speak blasphemy to express them self. It shows a lack of intelligence and inability to be unique and to express one's self in a professional way.
@@ARTVENTUREFILMS 6:55 speaking like this is no good. I know Hollywood made it seem OK cause basically every movie they release curses Jesus name. Doesn't make it right tho. If you can correct this error of your then you are doing good. Many won't even admit they are doing anything wrong.
Mine shuts down it doesn't say "shutting down" while playing games some of my friends say a hot cpu but I think is the power supply but I may have to buy a liquid cooling and a good psu
have a look at 0:29-0:31 Mine did'nt say anything either, just straight black with a quick noise. liquid cooling sounds wicked but expensive too! have you tried running the CPU on lower frequencies so that it can't max out or overheat?
Okay so my pc overheated once and since then its randomly shutting down (4 times in last 2 months) and wont turn it self on for like 5 to 10 mins, I don't think gpu is the problem I'd say its the power source, but I need an advice from a person who know more about computers
I'm not an expert but if you had overheating problems it could be something else too. Just putting it out there. You could try and upgrade the power supply. If that doesn't work, I would try the CPU. I my case, the PC turned back on straight away, which could be an indicator for PSU but if yours doesn't start for 5-10min it could be something different. Hard to say dude. I'm only guessing and a good way to find the answer is trial and error ;) Replace parts until you know which one was malfunctioning.
this is the reason why i'm selling my PC, i paid a lot of money then when i encountered this problem i did all the solutions. 1. Update the Bios. 2. increase the processors settings. 3. checking the components. 4. update my OS. 5. update my GPU software. and still it shuts down, i'm buying a console and a low end laptop.
Exactly had the same prob. Really spooky. Without no reason for me pure random blackout crashes, . Changed Power supply - takes no effect. I´m in fear something on the board
After replacing the PSU I got similar issues half a year later and switched the CPU. Been running with no issues ever since!! So maybe try CPU before changing the whole board. Just a thought :)
hello, my pc shutdown randomly by itself when i'm in chrome, playing something or doing nothing, this can happen in one minute, hour until days, else i checked my gpu, cpu, hdd, rams, psu and case and everything are working fine, i think that my problem is my motherboard, i saw it but i cant found nothing strange :( i5 7400 z270a prime gtx 1060 3gb 16gb 2x8 ddr4 550w psu
Hey man, that sounds very strange! hopefully it is not your motherboard. did you check all the other options, like overclocking, software and stuff? maybe explore the comments a bit to see what other people have done.
i just built a new pc.. the motherboard is expensive ... that makes me think it must not be the problem. But still the same problem persists for me and I cannot change the motherboard now
First I encountered that issue I was 16 now in 18 and I realized it's getting worse it was shutting down rarely when I was playing same games then it started crashing after every 10 or less minutes after that it started same crashing when it was booting so I thought it was overheating, I bought a thermal paste and now my cpu temp is 50 to 65 degrees, it couldn't help the next target was RAM I had 8 gb of ram pretty old actually, so I ordered 4x 2 gb ram it couldn't help either so I looked at hdd it was also old but working I replaced it with ssd now its still doing a same I tried gpu too but nope and now it's time for psu and thanks to you for saving my pc good video you have new subscriber 👍👍
I was feeling nervous for you when you tested it haha, I still have to fix my pc. I've found out it might be my keyboard... It's the last thing I would think off. Anyways if it's not my keyboard I'm getting a new power supply, hopefully that will fix it.
@@mohdafaanx yes it did, once I removed the keyboard it didn't crash randomly anymore, but I did have a different issue: it was crashing at startup everytime and after that it would work fine. But that has now also stopped so it's probably completely fixed
@@lvs8768 I tried using a very old basic logitech keyboard and the crashes didn't stop, they were just delayed. Before the pc would stop under almost any load such as games or editing. When I switched keyboards, I was able to play the game for around 5 minutes before a crash. I'm still trying to figure out whether o should get a new power supply or not.
I have the same issue the 1st change I done was the PSU 850w to 1200w Yeah it ran good for awhile… but am telling yah that won’t last… I have swapped out 3950x to 5950x Asus prime to Asus Viii Etreme MB Asus 850w (Gold) to Asus Thor 1200w I am running a Asus 3090oc (White) I haven’t swapped that yet.. because I paid $2.3k for the stupid thing.. I will get the 4090TI when that’s released & tested… I am still getting random shutdown’s even when idle that’s not good, from start to now am about $8k into this piece of Crap…. So best of luck buddy
mine was doing it too, I tried and tested everything and all components were perfectly fine, I managed to get a malware scan off and I somehow had 145 viruses, since removing them it hasn't shut down randomly once, who knew malware could do that because I didn't.
All you have to do is clean the power supply by opening it up and blowing out the dust " dust can be conductive " my pc does this once a year and still haven't bought a power supply and had it for 10 years
That is a very good thought! I haven't actually tested to dust out my power supply but it seems like a good thing to do before hand. Mine was pretty clean, so I'm not sure whether that would've helped. You never know though. Thanks for reaching out :)
You need to cool your motherboard chips not just the gpu and cpu this is the golden fix if the motherboard chip over heats the pc will also shut down randomly , I been fixing pc since I was 12 I’m 35 now
My PC would just randomly reboot or randomly lose signal to monitor, keyboard, mouse with everything in the case still working normally, and power button also wouldn't let me force shutdown it even by holding it for 30+ secs, the only way is flip the switch on the PSU. BIOS is updated to the latest, Windows 10 clean installed with all updates, all drivers are the latest, every software is also the latest version. This problem would happen ONLY if I use the following programs in the background; hwmonitor, hwinfo, aida64, ryzen master, corsair link, corsair icue. If I don't use any of mentioned programs in the background, the PC runs flawlessly for days without problems.
Awhh man that sounds like a tough problem. Wouldn't have an idea right now how to tackle your problem. All my thoughts would be that I wouldn't focus on those programs too much. They might only be part of the problem but I wouldn't know. Good luck!
Sometimes it comes to a crash screen with an "American Megatrends" Trademark screen with a bit of info of your pc and then the error. It just says "CPU Over Temperature Error" and then F1 to go to setup (BIOS)
maybe try and see what happens when you change the overclocking, so that the cpu wont run that hot. could be the thermal paste too. just guessing though. Any dust in the heatsink?
I just bought a brand new computer windows 11 and it is randomly shutting down about every 3 minutes then starting back up. I haven't even had the computer for 12 hours! Speaking of frustration especially when I don't have a clue about how to fix a computer and wouldn't you know the one who sold it to me at Staples is off tomorrow. I want to scream! I don't know anything about computers and can't find anything "simple" for people like me to follow.
Idk if you’ll reply to this but when it crashed was it a complete black screen shut off or was it a blue screen or a windows crash. And did it restart automatically or did you have to turn it back on yourself. I think I’m dealing with the same issue right now.
i've showed how it looked like right at the start of the video. It was straight to black screen and power off and instantly back to reboot sequence. Hope you'll get yours fixed too :)
Unfortunately this did not work for me, i've had this crashing issue for 6 months now and it crashes when i'm just doing nothing on my PC. So for my birthday I got a 750w power supply and I hoped that it would help with the crashes, plot twist: it didn't, only a few minutes after installing the new power supply my pc crashed when watching youtube
I’m suspecting that my issue is my power supply because mine is a cheapo, a ThermalTake Smart 700. I wish I could get my money back and put it towards a better one but I guess I can’t do that. I’d hope that I can keep getting them replaced over the warranty period when they go out. Maybe there’s something wrong with my house because the OEM PSU in my old system died too, which was when I got my gaming unit. Mine crashed playing RDR2 and then played Forza 7 fine for hours but I was navigating Google Maps yesterday and it started misbehaving and crashed 2-3 times.
My new PC has worked flawlessly for 6 months...today it started to randomly shut off. Sometimes it would restart when I turned it on for a few minutes and it would shut off again while I was in the bios....now it wont even turn on at all. Any ideas boys?
My pc had never shut down until today. I installed an old hard drive from an old pc to get some photos/videos out of it. I left the hard drive on and decided to play apex legends. As I went into the lobby, just by pressing anything the pc would shut off. I would turn it back on and try the game again, it would shut off again. I then removed the old hard drive, and was able to play one game, but now it shuts off again. Only on apex legends. I don't know what could be the issue, as the pc is basically new
My pc randomly shut down when my pc was idling, before that happened, usually after streaming or playing high cpu/gpu usage game .i have asked someone near me for help and they all said coz of the faulty Psu.However,it is really not too worth to buy a psu right now as the pandemic. Should i just do my own fix (my pc air flow or cpu thermal paste could also be the problem)
hey man, sounds like a pain in the butt. Sorry to hear that. Read some of the comments too, someone suggested you could have too much dust in the PSU, which can cause power shortage as well. Maybe try and fix it yourself with doing other things too, if you think it could be thermal paste. At least you know it wasn't the thermal paste. However, i had random shutdowns with a faulty CPU too, so maybe check that as well if you have the opportunity.
guys if you have this problem just get another PSU to test. I had the exact same issue and i actually went from 650w to a 500w and im more than happy now. I use a GTX1070 8gb card. this error is caused by your sytem requesting power from PSU but PSU is failing.
I have the same problem but with the thing that i bought my computer 2 weeks ago and built it my self. At the beginning my pc was working ok, but one day i had like 5 shotdowns in my hose, since then my pc keep crashing when i play Valorant, Civilitation, ARK, but rarelly with LOL and Minecraft. Also the temperatures are below 72C in my CPU and below 60C in my GPU. I tried it all but i think my PSU might have broke. Can you help me??
sad to hear man! how can i help you though? did you try lowering the overclocking? i can only tell you what i did in the video. try to exchange parts and see what works..
I hope mine is the same as yours. My pc keeps crashing on me at random while gaming, and it's annoying as hell. My new PSU is coming tomorrow, so fingers crossed.

Hey! I have the same problem. However, in my case, when I boot my computer on the LED indicators, the CPU light goes red. My PC only shuts down during gameplay which makes me think it’s the PSU as that requires more power but if it’s the CPU, I’m in deep shit - Lol. Would love to know what you think!
not sure what it means having a red cpu light. but if you tried another gpu and it still happens it could still be the psu. not sure though. very hard to tell.
I experienced same issue with the PC shutting down rapidly, I discovered the PSU eco mode was switched on and causing the fan off all the time, resulting in the PSU overheating and shutting down.
Hey Can you help me out, I had bought a pre built a couple months ago and it worked perfect until the last 2 months where it would randomly shut off during gaming sessions. I really don’t know hat causes these shutdowns but I’m 99% percent sure that it’s my PSU and I think this because I took apart my whole pc and found out the fan on my PSU does not spin at all even during start up and everytime I touch my PSU it’s extremely hot like not touchable hot, do you think an overheating PSU is the cause of my random shut downs?
Sorry for my late reply dude. I would say yes, it seems very plausible for me. Try to cool down your PSU in a different way and see if it still happens :)

Hi, i have an amd 9590fx, in an asus msa99 fax pro r 2.0, i had removed the fan because the pc seemed to be overheating with some apps so i wanted to put a liquidcooler in, the coller i bought from ebay was missing clips so i wanted to put my giant heatsink and fan back on my cpu, thats the only thing i touched, and when i took the motherboard out to swap the fan. Whats happening now was that the pc wouldnt post, no picture, and would switch off after a few minutes, so i checked the ram by switching slots all the usual, i also reset and put new paste on the cpu, and pressed the directkey button on the motherboard which got me into the bios, i couldn't find any issues in the bios, but now the pc goes on, i get the post screen for a few seconds, sometimes 20 seconds sometimes 3, and thats all it will do now, i just want to use my pc till i can afford to buy a better cooler and avoid heavy apps. Could you help me please?
Got the exact same issue in premiere. Started shutting down mid edit. Currently troubleshooting all componenets but I suspect could be psu same as yourself.
Could my issue be similar (psu issue) even though it says I have corrupted system files? or would that point to a windows software issue? I assume that means I have a software issue instead considering my PSU worked 3 days ago. I even tried a new GPU and the same thing happens. This is also my 2nd PSU on a 1 month old build, the first one was DOA and didn't work.
Depends how it shuts down. Does it show the error message and then shuts down? Then I would say software. Really hard to say with custom builds. How did you get those corrupted system files in the first place?
