WordPress has a reputation for being slow. Well, in this tutorial, I go over how you can optimize any WordPress site with a few techniques and tools. We got a perfect score of 100 in Google's Speed Test as well as load times less than 100 milliseconds. Whether you're a developer or non-coder, WordPress speed optimization is something that I can show you how to do.

Man you are amazing, I just don’t know how to thank you enough. You opened my eyes on so many things were going on on my site that I was not really paying attention to. My bounce rate is high due to slow loading. The number of requests is about 150-190 on blog posts that’s totally crazy. I was able to reduce things here and there after watching your video. Now my site is way better but needs more work to do later for speed and number of unused requests. I just found out that a quiz I have on one post loading everywhere on my site 👎. Thank you so much man.

This is very detailed explanation and by far the beat I watched. It requires too much work for huge sites with many blog posts. But definitely worth applying on the top pages and the services pages to not lose ranking. Thank you so much for your time and sharing your knowledge with us. Great work.

+1 for mentioning Gulp. Back in the day, I used to use Grunt for CSS / JS minification. As time went on, I found using it was slowing down my computer. It got to the point where running Grunt tasks made my computer freeze. Switch over to Gulp, no problems at all.

Great Video as always. I was using gtmetrix/web.dev but I had no idea that Chrome can do all of this stuff lol and the Asset Cleanup Plugin is really neat, will use it from now on. Also I was always using 1920 on FullWdith didnt know that I can use 1600 instead

@@Website-Developer I'd love to be proven wrong. But after a month of research I ended up pulling the pin and moving on. Trying a few different ways of building. GeneratePress seems to hit the 100/100 as does a lightweight custom theme made using Gutenberg with custom CSS (using Bootstrap for speedy builds)

@@bw2903 I am still using EP. I am using GP (free) and like the typography basic options, unlike the Astra theme. Don't care for the Gutenberg layout. I'm an old school classic user.

I love your channel and this is a fantastic tutorial, please never stop and always create such amazing content. I noticed that in one of my websites we created we added video s from Vimeo and RU-vid in the popups and that increased the website load time. So how do we optimize that or any other third party script code which is the culprit?

Make sure those s and videos are lazy-loaded. You don't want to have to pay for the load time unless someone is actually going to view the content.

Hi WPCast. I enjoy your videos and this one in particular. I did a Gtmetrix evaluation on a page of mine and it suggested to rescale an image to 50% of the original size. I found the image in the media library and rescaled it like you showed in this video, but the result was a blurry image when I refreshed the page. Have I done something wrong?

Thanks for this video. Super insightful! I've been doing WP Development for 10+ years but learned a lot of cool tricks for optimizations. Have you tried the Hummingbird plugin? I'm curious to see how it would compare to WP Rocket for performance.

@@WPCasts Thanks for the reply. Yeah I have a WPMUDEV membership so I get all their PRO plugins free. They offer a lot of great features but I never really knew how good Hummingbird was compared to other popular caching solutions as they all seem to offer relatively similar functions.

I have the same problem too with the woocommerce website. The site is already optimized and has 60 score on mobile but the render blocking resources is still there.

Great video but i have some questions. What about the local business website that doesnt use buddypress or star wars characters? I see how this affects the speed in your case, but what company uses this on their website? Can you please show a solution without those things? And, how do you find with asset you dont actually need on a page? Also, what about users who dont use wp rocket? What do you recommend? This is really a great video, wery detailed, keep up! :)

Thanks for the informational video. But WHY did you "uncheck disable cache" at last, all the files are loaded from local disk or memory. 33:00 But I still respect your help.
