How to fix a Stihl FS38 weedeater with carburetor problems fast cheap and quick

I bought that exact kit and ot worked perfect, my kit came with a new spark plug, air filter, gas filter, fuel lines, etc. Like $24 Canadian.

Thank you so much. I am learning to work on my own equipment because I can't make any money if I spend it all on repairs or buying new equipment. I didn't realize how easy it was to replace the carburetor and how inexpensive. I just changed the fuel filter and air filter and it's running some but not consistently or at the correct speed and from everything I read it's most likely the carburetor. I'm going to try this and pray it fixes it. I absolutely love my Stihl FS38 and don't have the money to spend on a new one. I know mine is meant for commercial use but I'm only 5' tall and it's the only curved shaft I could buy at the time with the budget I am dealing with normally.

Just picked up the same machine on kijiji for 60$. Looked brand new but wasn’t getting any fuel in the primer bulb too! Did the same thing as you, Amazon!! et voila!! 🤘🤘

First thing is clean it up. Make it look like it was worked on. Sounded like it was a little on the lean side when you rev it up, laboured. Thanks for the video.

I got a pb2520 blower from echo that came rich from the factory as well. This seemed to fix it not wanting to get up to full speed. Not sure why they seem to ship these so rich, but this seems to fix it.

I love this fix...I'd rather change the part as a DIYer for that price. I just had no fuel on priming on trimmer and broken fuel line on leaf blower...would mice chew the lines?

replaced the carburetor exactly as you did......and still having problems......after running about 5 seconds the engines shuts off.....even when I tilt to the right it shuts off....but not to the left.....any suggestions?

Changed out the carb, spark plug filter. Fired right up. But the string spool will barely turn. What would be the problem with this? Do i need to adjust the carb? Or let me know how this can be fixed?

Where do I get to the fuel filter

I got one of these and it's always ran really good until lately. But it doesn't want to idle. I just have to keep pumping the throttle to get it to rev up higher but at the same time I am getting a big down and if I let off it will just shut off and not idle or stay running not less at full rev up. I figured maybe it wasn't getting enough fuel or to much right Check spark plug. It good. Emptied out old fuel and put in new fuel. And still having the same issue. It starts right up. Choke works. Bubble works. Even tried tunning the mixture of air and gas in case they got moved. Seems like it didn't make a difference on adjusting them for worse or better. Any suggestions?

I replaced the carburetor, fuel lines and fuel filter on my FS38. It still won't run. I'm waiting on my local dealer to get a spark arrestor for me. If you're trimmer won't run, do yourself a favor and search spark arrestor. Cheap easy fix. Mine gets really clogged for some reason.

I’ve had a problem where I start mine and it just bogs down every time you give it throttle wondering if replacing the carb would fix this ?

Those carbs are pieces of crap. New out of the box screws were 4 turns out. The next one the screws were all the way in. 1 out of 4 works.

What size socket for the two nuts?
