Good video, my stem was not sticking out. Tire held pressure but would not let air in but would let air out (wierd!). FYI, three years later the kit at Auto Zone now is just the 4-way tool and (4) valve stem cores. Good news it was only $4.95. One tip for anyone doing this, have the replacement stem core in hand and put it in asap after removal of the old one. You don't have to wait for the tire to deflate, even a little.
very useful. My bike is having an issue with the valve core. Didn't know it had a name. Going to but a thing to fix it later. (tire wont release air when i press on the core and the little bit is so close to the rim i can't do anything)
The end of the valve pin opposite to the end we turn is sometimes flat and sometimes having a pin structure, are both compatible with schrader type valves of cars, motorcycles and bicycles?
Once you remove the valve core all the air in the tire will rush out, correct? So you will need to change these right next to an air pump in order to re-inflate the tire to drive off. Also correct? Please advise. Thank you for this video!
Sir, somehow only my right front and right rear’s valve stem core are shorter compare to left ones after changing new wheels. So it’s very hard to check air pressure with my gauge since valve stem cores are shorter and gauge cannot touch (or push) the core... How can i resolve this issue?!
What year/model is this because i need to do mine too and i was told i cant because the stem is metal?!? Didn’t make sense to me but not sure with the tpm sensor…
Thanks so much. Now i know for sure that my tire valve was broken since it wont put air in but taking it out instead. Save money from going to the autoshop
This might be just me being super stupid, but I somehow caused the air leak by inflating the tire. And the tire kept deflating loudly and very fast until nothing was there. So all I did was take pliers and pushed the tip a bit inside the valve. It immediately stopped making leaking noise and that made me happy. However, does make me wonder why it was so sensitive in the first place!
It did work, but I couldn't air it up because this was on my semi steer tire By the time I got back from the store, the tire was already off the rim.. Had to call a wrecker service to air it up
